Please enjoy our homage to our mentors Ericle, Ollie and Daisy. We bring it to you here for those who prefer not to go There. Also, it's an open thread, and there isn't one so far tonight.

Frank Bruni fires first anti-Bernie salvo this am
Oh sure, Frank, because you and your friends at the NYT would have given Bloomberg so much free media. Do you hate Bernie so much you would back a third party bid over the considered opinion of a saner DNC? And what does that say about your papers constant shaming of third party voters over the previous six months? At best, Bloomberg would have gotten as much traction as Johnson - if he was lucky.
What a twit.
We can’t save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed.
- Greta Thunberg
Amazing how now everyone thinks they have the answers,
isn't it? I'm not a Bloomberg fan, but he would have been better than Trump. He still would have had to pull off that populist thing, though, or would have just been another one of the 17 that Trump beat.

They've been positing this scenario over recent days.
And it was posited during the primaries.
Just more bilge to deny Sanders any kudos whatsoever.

Funnily enough
we found a somewhat mummified mouse head in the garage, a couple of days ago.
The rest must have been digested a long time hence.

We need to perfect our looks of feline disdain, I think we might need them.

Letter from a Progressive Coder
Thanks for the open thread and the kitties! I'm rereading Elizabeth Marshall Thomas' The Tribe of Tiger at the moment as part of my ongoing attempts to understand my cat.
But the letter is here. Short and sweet.

That's a good letter.
I like this especially: "Stop being so chickenshit in general" or as I've said, "They need to grow a spine". But the whole list is worth a read.

Dems got plenty of spine...
for Oil Wars, remote-control murder in far off lands, police state violence and poutrage over various social issues as long as they don't effect their donors cash flow.
Anywho, they got no spine for issues effecting the economics of the plebes. And that made me thing of this:
Compensated Spokes Model for Big Poor.
Love the cartoon! Thank you, I LOL'd!
Plenty of spine to put others in harm's way. If they had to go stand on the front lines themselves, there would be no more wars, I betcha.

Looks like post-modern version
of Guernica, the main element being spineless donkey.
So Skya got her first visit to the groomers this week
and all mats are gone and I can see her eyes. Her ears need a crop, with assistance, it can be done @ home. Maybe. Wiggly for me. She seems quite happy and frets about squirrel vandals outside. One brand-new feeder destroyed within 5 hours--and I can't find the lid in the leaves. The Big Top lasted hanging for one day. Vandals and Visigoths! I neglected white brake grease on the hanging poles. Tomorrow. I have the ancient grease can and gloves. Hardball time.
I can't find my diaper pin collection! Maybe given away...

Aww. Do we have before and after photos of Skya?
Squirrels do like bird feeders. I've had trouble with them too. Have you put up their own feeder? That helped a little.
If you have to buy more pins, they suggested giving away those you don't need so even more people will be wearing them!

I have before and after pix on my phone.
Still trying to make that photo transfer leap from phone to computer. Got one photo uploaded last night, a major success. One of my FB friends, a beekeeper in Quebec, said of the "before" that she needed a mow! Did look like thatch, she's brindle. I will work on it. TY.

I second that request--to see Skya's photos! ;-D And,
thanks, EC, for tonight's Caucus Critters.
Watched the video of Speaker Ryan being interview by Fox's Brett Baier--scary!
Have a nice evening, All.

Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.
Ha! I know I'm doing too many series when they get mixed up!
Caucus Critters would be tomorrow night, but I probably won't have time again. So I'm glad Aminal Nooz can substitute!
Trump is going to provide cover for all sorts of shenanigans if we don't stay on top of them every minute. I think the Speaker looks and acts rather ratty. Ick.

Hey, EC--my bad! I was wondering where the usual
and lovely collage/banner of animals went--duh!

Heh. Well, glad to know my renderings are so totally
photorealistic as to fool the discerning viewer!
I would still like to see others do some Caucus Critters also. We could have something every night if we could get a big enough team.

I would be willing, EC, but I know
nothing about embedding/uploading images or various other magic tricks you employ in your wonderful pootie essays. I wish there was a "How To" guide posted here. I still can't paste links to articles I want to include in my comments from my iPad to this site, unless I type out the entire URL in the body of my comment and how on earth does one transfer a video to embed here?
Thank you, Wir. Let's see if we can get you set up.
Do you always use an iPad? Do you see a bunch of boxes just above the comment box when you hit reply? The first box to the left will let you upload pics from your hard drive (eventually). The second is the video link. The third is for links to Web pages, if you want to format them (otherwise, you can just paste the Web page address into the comment).
When I want to link or add a video, I just go to the Web page, click on the top address bar, hit ctrl-A to highlight it all, click ctrl-C for copy, come back here and click ctrl-V to paste the address wherever I want it (when you open the above boxes, there's a box for the URL at the top of the choices). The Embed function at YouTube also will work here. Just click Share there, then Embed, and copy and paste the highlighted stuff in the box - from "iframe width" to "/iframe".
It is important to check the sizes of pics and vids before posting. Make sure the width is 500 maximum so it doesn't bleed over into the right-hand margin. You can eliminate any height measurement, it will automatically post undistorted.
If you can't do any of this, then iPads work differently than PCs. Do you have an apple key that acts like control maybe? Or on my Android, I tap the screen or double tap or tap and hold, say, text I want to copy, and menus pop up; will that work? There should be some way to copy and paste, at least. Typing is so 20th century.
If you can't see the icons above the comment box or new diary box, that may be an issue worth contacting the Admins about. They may not have thought about doing whatever it takes to be functional for iPads, but it may just take a little tweaking for them to get there.
Let me know how you do! Caucmail me if you like. Once you can see icons, I can explain more about the pic upload, which is kind of slow.
Does anyone reading this know about a how-to diary? It seems there was one at one point, but I don't seem to have saved it to my Favorites. My bad. I'm thinking the process is a little different if you want to use photos from another site like Photobucket, compared to my method of putting photos on my hard drive and then uploading. So if anyone has that link, or is willing to provide basics, that would be greatly appreciated!

At 1AM it's as bright as civl twilight, lol
I have 2' illumination by moon into the house! I could have walked down the stairs by moonlight, but stairs and I have an unfortunate history so I turned on the lights. The moon is over my skylight in the living space, which needs replacement because of blown seal. I hope I have the specs. It's large and will co$t a small fortune, no doubt. It's always something...

It sounds beautiful. I love a silvery full moon.
Still, lights on sounds like a good plan.
Perhaps some form of sealant won't require full replacement?

Too late, moisture in the double pane.
So it's not fully clear (and dirty on both sides). 15 to20' up there. I do not do roofs. Never have. But I have new shingles! A solid roof for the next 15 years. There are condensation or leak drips coming off the lower edge onto my ceiling as brown stains, ceiling and walls need new paint. Original paint, 30 years ago. They sprayed the ceiling. Crappy job.
