8 reasons for the left to continue working within the Democratic party

No surprise, I’m deeply disappointed Bernie did not win the nomination. I’m also disappointed by the convention which in some ways overtly sidelined the left to appeal to “moderate Republicans”. Tacking to the center is a quite standard strategy when primaries are over. Hillary would not be the first or the last candidate to do it. Back in March, I said it may not be the best strategy for this cycle, since Trump jumps about all over the place on the ideological spectrum. I haven’t seen anything yet that changes my views on the matter.

Welcome to Video News! My apologies for no official DNC video news open thread yesterday. But Oreo the Diabetic Pootie had a crisis at 3 AM yesterday, so Ginger and I were up half the night. Oreo and Ginger seem to have recovered in full, so we have resumed normal function.

They admit culpability. The system was rigged.

Good ole senate minority leader Harry Reid admits that they all knew the primaries were rigged in the favor of the queen.

We've been saying for a very long time now that Hillary's opposition to the TPP is largely bullshit. She urged her delegates to oppose anti-TPP language in the party platform. She picked pro-TPP Tim Kaine as her VP. And now longtime Clinton friend Terry McAuliffe may have accidentally let the truth slip out:

UPDATE: Yes He Did. Bernie to nominate Hillary?

I didn't see an appropriate essay to put this in, so thought I'd just do a quick essay.

One last hurtful action in the works.

UPDATE x 2

Guess this diary was correct after all.

Vermont passed when it was their time to vote, so they could go last. After their vote, Bernie got up and moved to suspend the rules and nominate by acclamation, Hillary Clinton for President of the United States...

But Bernie did speak at the convention last evening. If you missed it, I'll let Stephen Colbert fill you in:
