A couple of weeks ago I went to a 'DiverseAbility' job fair hosted by Voc Rehab and other county employment services. Of course the whole thing was a waste of time because they only had a few employers and the rest were just plugging services I already use. Services Flori-Duh's government seems all to happy to slash every fuckin' year.
Trajectories aren't linear. Life's just a roller coaster. If you're getting a chance to do cool stuff, and it's varied stuff, just enjoy it. I guess I'm a believer in the randomness of life rather than it being a linear trajectory or an arc, a consistent smooth arc, towards anything.
First time I went to Las Vegas, me and a college friend drove down there from Olympia, WA on the way to Oklahoma City via Palm Springs, CA (but I've never been to Spain). I remember we decided to stand around and study the craps tables for awhile until we figured out how to play. After deciding we had learned enough to lose money, we placed our bets. Two bucks, on red. The dealer took a quick look at our bets and plainly stated, "no action".
Two bucks, no action.
I went cash.
I didn't just leave the banks, I left the Credit unions and any other entity that requires me to "Trust" people who have repeatedly shown me that they will ignore all regulation as long as the orders come from the right people.
Debbie from Sane Progressive posted a 2 hour long rant which she soon deleted. From the half-hour I was able to catch before then it was obvious she was....tired. She wasn't the only one. Many other activists have thrown up their hands and quit because they feel like they have no way to fight back.
This is flabbergasting to me. Maybe I've lost touch with what's happening around the country at our schools. I know the pigs don't do this where I live. I've got kids and grandkids, I'd know about it.
