I tried to study music by other people, and come to this record hoping that I’d have something new to say. I wanted to do what I was calling ‘funk in back and busking up front, with White Album-y shit scattered about.’ I had done a lot of listening to Parliament and James Brown and lots of reggae music, too. It’s embarrassing to admit, but I’ve been trying to think of this sound all my life. This is the closest I’ve come to thinking, ‘Man, I don’t know that I’ve heard anything like this before.’”

There’s a thing called effervescence – that feeling that you’re present, alive. I’d like for people to have a moment with this record. some serious rain and wind here, so that's the weather.
Impossible not to be aware that the pseudo-left wing of the uniparty had some election victories, As a friend from another part of the country was wont to say; "Yah, suuure". We shall see what the excuses for non-performance will be this time around, I suspect many of them will be retreads.
Thanks for the OT, and, of course, for the Colossal. That is one of my less frequently frequented sites and it takes the occasional post of an item in your colimn to remind me that there is not merely another rabbit hole, but a whole damn warren of them to wander down so thanks again.

A rainy day is a very forceful reminder of all of the indoor shit I should be doint, starting with sorting and dealing with the office and trip prep, so I find myself starting to decide to do at least thing x, and maybe y too, so I guess Ill get started on something or other.
