About caucus99percent and issues

Good morning folks.

This is a response to a comment by TomP that was made in another essay last night. I tried to post it as a reply several times but would not post in the proper nesting so I gave up, but I think it is important so I'll post it now.

Here's Tom's comment (he's speaking about c99p):

I hope it will grow also.

My comment for Kos’s hate-filled screed against Bernie supporters.

Kos's latest temper tantrum compares Bernie supporters to Trump supporters. My response:

You now border on farce, Markos.

So much for “unity” from you and this place.

About the recent changes in the site layout.

Greetings folks. Real Life has pulled me away from my computer for much of the last couple of days, so I want to drop a quick line about the recent site layout changes. We lost the right sidebar on our two main pages yesterday and rather that leave it at that I temporarily migrated everything over to the left sidebar. I say temporarily because within the next week or two we will be updating the site software and all the current bugs should be ironed out at that time.

Important Announcement - Replies Notification Rollout

Greetings folks! This is the big one we've all been waiting for, the Replies Notification has been completed and implemented. We have also made some improvements to our other monitoring programs as well, so you'll find a complete and efficient system to monitor all aspects of our essays and comment threads. I'll list all new and improved programs below.

Redacting Comments

The ability to edit comments was enabled from the onset of this site with the caveat that it not be abused. There has been a rash of redacting complete comments the last few days by a couple of members that is borderline abuse. If you are not comfortable with the comment you made then maybe it's best that you not make it at all. If this practice continues the edit feature will be disabled, it is making a mess of our comment threads.

Thanks for your cooperation.

burn burn burn

I look forward tonight to watching the returns in Wisconsin, hoping for a strong showing for Bernie. And then onward for two weeks to New York.

So, going forward, where do we go from here?

And I am thinking in terms of both this blog site (micro) and also more in general terms (macro).

Just a few thoughts about our caucus99 space... well, one:

This post will be kind of a mish-mash of issues. We'll start with this one:

Ok, maybe that's overstating it some. Smile

Sometimes You Get Second Chances

I first started blogging at [Redacted] in, I believe, October of 2008. My brother had pointed the place out to me a few years earlier, and at that point my offline social life here in Mordor had collapsed, so I checked it out.

I stayed up all night when Obama won, and shared the elation, less because I was all that sure about Obama than because it was so catching, and because it felt so nice, being part of something. Being part of anything.
