UPDATE Meta: Let's fund c99p now to show solidarity;fund raise match

I want to give thanks to JtC, Joe, dkmich, gjohnsit, gulfgal and many others who have given their efforts.

Nothing comes easier to me than criticizing others and I despise that about myself. Arm chair quarterbacking about how good the site maybe acceptable because folks are trying to improve the site, however let's make sure we respect what has been built.

A Very Short History of caucus99percent

Good morning folks. I've seen several new members here recently asking about this site's history and the original founders intention and goals. I don't have time to go into great detail right now as managing and adminning c99p has become a full time job, although I do plan on eventually writing a complete history of this site, that started as a spark of a dream, moved in and out of many iterations, and culminated in caucus99percent.com as we see it now.

The OT meta syle Thrusday

So me and Shah who slit the Thursday OT decided we needed to make some money and not piss off our time blogging. As Hecate pointed out we should just wait until the Brooklyn Deli Man won and then copious unattainable amounts of money would not be required to live out side the gates of this nasty ass Eden. But here I am back again writing late Wednesday night because I care about what becomes of this wonderful site I somehow staggered into.

Important Site Announcement

As of last night an "Add New Comment" editor was added to the bottom of every essay page. This gives two ways to make a new comment in the essay thread, either by clicking the "Add New Comment" link under the essay body and also by using the "Add New Comment" editor at the bottom of the page. This change should make it much easier to add comments to the essay. This is also the system DK5 uses, so if you're used to it there it should be no problem here.

This is important: Don't be confused by the new editor at the bottom of the page, it is for adding comments to the essay. To reply to a specific comment you must use the "reply" link below the comment. I've already noticed some confusion with this as folks are putting their comments in the wrong place. A couple of months ago I added this feature to c99p and it caused confusion so I removed it. This announcement is an effort to alleviate that confusion.

To recap:
To add new comments to the essay: Use the "Add New Comment" link at the top, OR, the "Add New Comment" editor at the bottom.

To reply to a specific comment: Use the "reply" link under the comment.

About last night's primary results: Onward!

Taking yourself Seriously Vs. Taking yourself WAY TOO Seriously

Nothing can ever hope to grow if it doesn't take itself seriously. In this sense, I mean committed to a form or course of action and be willing to put aside the barbs and slings of the opposition in order to succeed. If you don't even believe in your own idea, how can you convince others of that fact?

Hello from the Great Northwest

It is very good to see you all here. The tone and friendliness of the posts and comments tell me I have made the right choice.

It has even inspired me to consider buying a computer again so I can actually write a blog post of substance. I have been asked to diary a couple of things at GOS lately that you all might find interesting. Think I would rather do that here.

Until then I will continue to enjoy reading and learning new things from the rest of you.
