It embarrasses me that this happened near my home town. I grew up just south of Portland, OR. Vancouver, WA is just across the Columbia River to the north of Portland.
The administration touts "local control." Sometimes, however, that just means, "Beat the transgender kids into the ground."
For the past year, instead of attacking Trump for real, concrete reasons of his horribleness, Democrats have gone off the deep end of crazy, irrational, konspiracy theories about Russia. Just visit any Democratic blog like DKos and witness the demands of faith in the unproven that is so absolute that voicing doubts can get you denounced for heresy and banned.
There's this wonderful children's book called "If..." by Sarah Perry, which has all sorts of zany pictures in it -- if mice were hair, if worms had wheels, if frogs ate rainbows and so on, all around this theme of "if." It's now got a YouTube video of course.
The sense of entitlement, exceptionalism and sense privilege contained within a perversion of the American Dream has reached its logical conclusion.

House Bill 2673 has cleared the Oregon House on a 37-23 vote. The Bill allows people with birth certificates issued in the state to be updated in a private interaction with the Oregon Health Authority, allowing people to avoid public paper trails and court involvement.
I don't watch a whole lot of TV. But this morning, I was in a place where CNN was on and I watched a Virginia Repub congressman, who is on the House Budget Committee, talk about voting against the healthcare bill (Trumpcare, if we must).
I wasn't surprised by the fact that he's voting against the bill. He says it doesn't go far enough. I suspect he means that it doesn't go far enough to further enrich and keep the rich alive, while the middle class and poor can pray.
