Clinton's Listening Tour

I just about pasted an excellent recipe for strawberry-rhubarb cobbler and let that fly. But I really want to draw attention to this article at CNBC. It is a recitation of the volume, number and amounts of contributions that the Clinton machine have taken in over the past few years.

Between her time as SOS and time as candidate, she was being paid to participate in a listening tour for the .01%.

The AP's review of federal records, regulatory filings and correspondence showed that almost all the 82 corporations, trade associations and other groups that paid for or sponsored Clinton's speeches have actively sought to sway the government — lobbying, bidding for contracts, commenting on federal policy and in some cases contacting State Department officials or Clinton herself during her tenure as secretary of state.

Remarkably, I find myself much happier these days now that I no longer frequent you-know-where. That is a sick place.

She's not influenced by money! There is no case where her decision has been changed because of money!

It is well know that when you donate to the Police Benevolent Association you get a sticker that you put on your car. By total coincidence, if you get pulled over for, say speeding, and you have a PBA sticker (with current year), you get the benefit of the doubt at every turn of the encounter. You'll drive away with a very friendly, "Please sir, watch your speed." No ticket, you won't be asked for driver's license, insurance & registration, just a friendly reminder.

You'd have to be covered in blood, stoned, open beer, fresh crash marks, BLM or Che Guevara tee shirt and wearing a qalansuwa for the cop to even ask for ID.

But of course since you didn't hand the LEO a wad of cash on the side of the road, no corruption here!

on TOS, but I sure am now. There was a diarist on the list last night who hit all the talking points I've seen this week to a 'T,' joined in the last month. This one had an interesting angle I haven't seen quite before - instead of being a 'conversion' story, this one was endorsing something about Clinton AS a Bernie supporter. Oh, I see.

I had a high school course on persuasion and the stuff I see coming out of these folks is like taking a test in that class.

I keep seeing names over there which have TU status and they identify actually was originated a good bit ago except that they run fallow for long stretches. One for whom both a comment and a diary caught my eye had very VERY active commenting in the previous electoral skirmishes, then stopped participating mid-May 2008 and started up again last month. I'm sure that's a total coincidence. I lurked over there until about the time the nom was being wrapped up last cycle, so I missed the wars then.

Everyone seems to forget to add lobbying to her many accomplishments. As FLOTUS she spent most of her time lobbying for one thing or another--as far as I can tell, nothing good. She has just continued in that same position through all these years and will continue if sh is elected.

Even to be accused of being the client of some rich bigwig was a serious political liability. And these same Romans thought that bribery was legitimate - the dishonour was in not staying bought!

And apparently growing sicker by the day.
