As an enthusiastic foodie who grew up in a home where my father was a chef, and my Mother had the instincts of one, not surprisingly, I like to cook. Initially, I debated whether my musings about food and cooking would actually interest anyone but myself, but after some encouragement, I decided to start writing. My hope is to showcase seasonal foods, share my favorite recipes, and celebrate the joy of eating well.

Comfort Foods Part One (Recipes): Street Prophets Sunday All Day Brunch

In times of stress we often look to comfort food to help us get through. Comfort food is food that soothes the psyche as it provides nourishment. It often is a food that we remember from our childhood. It can be a favorite dish that was made by Mom or Grandmother. It is rarely a gourmet dish. It is just plain solid home cooking.

Craving Chinese Food: Street Prophets Sunday All Day Brunch

Welcome to Sunday Brunch. This is an open topic thread so help yourself to the goodies and sit a spell and let us know what is new with you. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area I was exposed to some of the best Chinese food in the world. One of my favorites is the steamed pork buns Char Siu Bao. Living in North Carolina I don't have the access to Chinese food and ingredients like I did in San Francisco or Chicago when I lived there.

Cajun Cooking: Street Prophets Thursday Coffee Hour

Welcome to Thursday Coffee Hour. This is an open topic thread. So grab something to drink and to munch on and sit a spell and let us know what is going on in your life. This is my first time back in 2 months after getting knocked down and into the hospital with pneumonia. Since I am now at 1,051 recipes in my original recipes books I thought maybe I should share a few with people. I am making Cajun Red Beans and Rice with Andouille Sausage for dinner tonight.
