In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule.

Are you funking kidding me? Born with two strikes, brown and poor. Apparently genius does not include the ability to discern extenuating circumstances, nor can a master deal maker devise a win-win.
One of the problems with gross wealth disparity is isolation from society. What kind of genius sits on a gold throne and tweets disparaging comments about people they have never met?
Sometimes people are overcome by the darkness. I know I am. I have thoroughly enjoyed 45's hissy fit. I fully support alternative solutions to the problem and advocate driving him funkin' nuts. Poke the ego, don't let up, complete melt down is possible probable.
The time for the dog pile has arrived!
Enough with the corruption already!
Just funkin' sayin'.
To the downtrodden: Fear not brother, persist, resist, we are working on rectifying the situation.
Refugee, I promise a more humane solution to your plight.
See you soon!

Good morning, Tim ~~~
The hissy-fit thrower has got his panties in a knot. But, they're always in a knot when the petulant child is not getting his way! Which seems to be happening more often.
Will the new HoR bring about the challenges needed to spur change or will the old guard prevail and keep the oligarchy humming along?
The new Reps are already scaring the status quo. You know, AOC doesn't know how to dress, read the latest headline - so when they are attacking your clothing, they've got nothing on your brain!
I'm hoping for an improved world in 2019. I'm hoping my world improves in 2019 - I'm in a shoe now, walking haltingly, but hope to be full-strength in the new year.
Have a beautiful day and weekend, everyone!

Yes, exactly, the one with
moxie! She’s killing it - I just hope they don’t break her - she’s giving us hope! And, she’s got more of these newly elected progressives with her, which I hope make some big noises to effect some big changes.
Either way - it will be interesting to see how it shakes out. Hopefully the odds will be in our favor -
Enjoy the day!

No doubt. She scarin' the Funk outta dem...
I'm not going to speculate on how the not-yet-30yr old Congresswoman for my district will turn out.
But what did she do this week? She turned up in two consequential places to lend her support to dissidents.
First she stands with a collective of local NYC council members and state senators to staunchly oppose the disastrous clandestine Amazon deal. Then she attends the "Democrats Stand Up or Step Aside" #NewGreenDeal protest at the highest ranking Dem Congresswoman's office to show solidarity.
If that ain't action, putting yourself out there in person with other advocates and protester, I don't know what is.
Not to mention as you both say, she's in a white hot RW spotlight that seeks to impugn and destroy her - that's how afraid they are of her message. Not to mention that he socialist message comes straight from "an attractive young woman with moxie," which intimidates the funk out of white male patriarchy.
I thought about putting an essay together (and still might) wondering how people felt about what I thought could be serious revolutionary ramifications - a Congresswoman-elect showing up at the Minority Leader's office to join a protest against her? Could this just what those working inside the system need to see to embolden them and others to be much more actively involved with pressuring elected officials? Like Bernie, she could be working on the inside, while also making sure to honor the grassroots by showing up in public to stand with protesters when they come calling. After all, they are literally her donors.
This is what Bernie had been saying. This is what FDR meant when he said, "you'll have to make me do it."
I'm not at all saying she's some kind of savior to usher in a Utopian Socialist world. But there's something to be said for choosing to participate in high-profile protest actions, especially of your own leader. That could send out some serious ripples.
And the biggest takeaway:
She can do these things, because, she takes no corporate money. She is beholden only to small donors and the Democratic Socialist of America who got her elected. That means no lobbyists at her door demanding to reel her in on Day One (or before).
Could be a whole new ballgame.
Or could be more of the same.
I think it's too early to tell.
But I'll tell you this: it's got me thinking more about joining a recently DSA due-paying friend in the neighborhood and attending their meetings.

good chilly morning y'all
I wish it was possible to share some of our rain with CA...we had more than 4" this week. Sure was odd to watch CA burn as the deluge poured here.
US territories like PR evidently exists for our exploitation. When they need our help it is adios amigos.
Did you get any snow? Just missed us going North (maybe your way). Got my order of chestnut trees yesterday, and the weekend is forecast-ed to be sunny, so I'll get those in the ground soon. Reckon I've got about 20 more years to watch them grow.
Lots of turkeys around this week....the feathered variety that is. Deer are active too. The cooler weather has wildlife more active - lot's of bird activity at the feeder too.
Well, hoping you all have some good activities this weekend. Stay warm everybody!

The exploitation is borderless. For example, US resource consumption, US arms sales and the domestic labor market.

Disassemble number 5, dissemble number 43
Happy Friday, I can't listen to Trump every day, that would be bad for my 5.health. What y'all repeat here is enough, thanks for filtering. I hope Trump doesn't start another real war, keep tweeting. Number 5 was the robot in Short Circuit. It disassembled a grasshopper for enlightenment. This is some funky history rewrite eh:

Really? That's what people think now? The dissembling continues, another topic to unlearn.

terpenes. There is now research showing that the organplectic properties, taste and smell, are central to the cannabis effects, More so than Indica versus Sativa. In fact the Indica vs. Sativa, stoned vs. high, paradigm probably has more to do with harvest time than genetics. The Sativas being primarily tropical are slower to mature. This is due to the photosynthetic properties being in concert with the more balanced light and dark periods of the tropical day. The Indicas, being primarily more temperate, ripen quickly when they sense the days shortening. The net of this is that Indicas are usually more mature or even over ripe when harvested and Sativas are usually less ripe when harvested. Harvest time also explains some of the deviation between batches of the same strain. Along with the gardener's skills.

I prepared the thread yesterday, because I am hitting the road. Pie for breakfast day happens every Black Friday and Boxing Day! I had Pineapple Chunk for breakfast.

We wanted decent healthcare, a living wage and free college.
The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.
Buenos dias. Sitting on a different bluff along the pacific
coast. This one is up by Pigeon Point. Sub-fifty out there. Vaguely leisurely morning, still a couple of hours from home, but only a couple, and that's today's destination. OTOH, a ton of stuff to do before Thursday.
Had lunch in Gonzales yesterday at La Enchilada Cafe - maximum authentico, as one would expect from hte locale. Maybe 6 tables in the whole place and we got the last one. Among the tacos, for example, were asada, lengua, tripa and cabeza. My tamal obviously came right out of the steamer and the tortillas were freshly made. Cinco estrellas.

Hardy NYC protesters in snow last night, "89k Homeless by Cuomo"
"New Yorkers Hit The Snowy Streets To Demand Tougher Rent Laws"
Have to mention first how good it is to see the Gothamist back in action. Their coverage of what's happening on the ground, in neighborhoods all around the city, had been unsurpassed. Although it does suck that Neoliberal WNYC bought them out (but better than formerly in the hands of RW scumbag/Trump supporter Joe Ricketts, founder of TD Ameritrade).
As I was delighting in taking the kids out for the first snow of the year a bunch of committed folks weren't deterred from what is on pretty much everyone's mind here.
Check out this extortion racket:
We're caught in this corporate dystopia of the Orwellian "preferential rent" scam (the equivalent of War is Peace/Freedom is Slavery). Preferential, only to the landlord. In our case the little douche whose inherited his mommy's building has raised our rent almost 10% twice in a row now - just because he can.
Everyone should know that Cuomo is a deceptive and manipulative Neoliberal bastard.
Gianaris is talking tough lately and it's good to know he was out again in the streets for this (also against Amazon).
But note the difference between the two elected officials on record about this. Salazar of DSA ran on a platform of rent control (similar to Socialist Alternative Kshama Sawant of the Seattle city council, who also has huge support because of her unwavering stance on such a critical, existential issue).
Not taking corporate money is revolutionary. It allows one to take stands free of being beholden to corporate donors, while building your base of volunteers and canvassers, which is an essential part of building movements.

The madrones are full of red berries, and so are the toyons along the river path. Red and green, we called them christmas berries up in Willits. There was mistletoe up there too, pretty parasites. I looked on satellite view and saw the new owners planted the upper meadow. We used to weed it by hand, now there are fifteen tree size plants, organic I hope. cheers
It could happen
I think it's possible that the Green party could become the liberal party and the Democrats the conservative party with the Republicans disappearing.
