The Weekly Watch

Riding Trump's War and Peace Seesaw

Open Thread Image.jpg

The week began with bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran (John McCain's wet dream), then suddenly the mantra shifted to we have a peace deal. Interesting this happened Thursday as the markets were about to close on Friday. There's been plenty of market manipulation and profit taking during this absurd war of choice. Russia continues its advance in Ukraine as the Ukrainians continue lobbing drones at civilian targets. The question is does Russia strike those drone making facilities in the EU which are supplying them to Ukraine? This week also saw the removal of Trump's name on the Kennedy Center, and at least a hold on Kushner's Epstein Island 2.0 in Albania. And then we have the World Cup games in the US where we are really flying our racist flag. The treatment of the Iranians, the Somalians, and other countries has been horrid and shameful. All that and more below the fold...

Screenshot 2026-06-13 at 08-47-34 war and peace seesaw at DuckDuckGo.png

Let's begin with the on again off again war of aggression against Iran. Rekindling the hot war was due to a helicopter going down into the strait in a unbelievable claim it was targeted by a drone that isn't maneuverable and designed for a point A to point B mission. Perhaps the copter collided with the drone? At any rate despite the pilots survival this was the excuse used to relaunch the bombing. After Iran retaliated destroying airports, aircraft, and personnel Trump backed down (TACO) and claimed a deal was underway. Supposedly within days they will auto-pen a MOU (memorandum of understanding) which I doubt Trump's Zionists masters will allow him to sign. My guess this is a delaying tactic because he has been told the Iranian economy is about to collapse. He would do better looking for that scenario at home to my mind.

Tehran 'holds firm' to red lines as Trump backpedals from escalation threat

Trump pledged 'VERY HARD' strikes on Iran hours before claiming a deal with the Islamic Republic 'has been reached'. An Iranian official told US media on 11 June that the “war will continue” until Washington “respects” Tehran’s interests, coinciding with reports that the Islamic Republic has withdrawn from negotiations.
Mohammad Mokhber, advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, told CNN that the situation is “in their hands.”
“If they respect Iran’s interests and act accordingly, the war will end; otherwise, it will continue,” he added, stressing that Tehran will “not back down” and “not step back.”
US President Donald Trump is “mistaken” if he believes he can continue to “test” Iran’s military capabilities, Mokhber said, adding that the “fate of the war depends on Washington’s actions.”
An Iranian source told Fars News Agency earlier on Thursday that there would be “no new talks” and that Tehran will “stand firm” on its terms.
The warnings from Tehran came a few hours before Trump backtracked on threats to launch major strikes on Iran and seize its strategic Kharg Island.

A major sticking point is Israel's continuing strikes in Lebanon, as well as the constant murder of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

The fate of Lebanon and the Palestinians is now being tied to the ceasefire.

Can Trump Restrain Israel?

From the Israeli perspective, Hezbollah and Iran remain immediate security threats that cannot be ignored. Israeli leaders claim that military pressure is necessary to weaken these adversaries, regardless of American concerns about regional escalation.
Yet security alone does not fully explain Israel’s actions.
The conflict is also intertwined with political and ideological ambitions. The influential factions within the Israeli regime continue to be influenced by a broader vision of expanding Israel’s strategic footprint in the region, often associated with the concept of “Greater Israel”.
In this reading, Lebanon is not merely a battlefield but part of a wider Israeli expansionist project.

If a deal is reached, I expect Israel to sabotage it.

Western Media Normalize Ethnic Cleansing of Lebanon by Viewing It Through Israel’s Eyes
Like in Gaza, where genocide proceeds apace in spite of a declared ceasefire (FAIR.org, 10/21/25), the media tend to report “ceasefires” in Lebanon without caring to highlight the fact that it’s not a ceasefire when Israel is still pummeling the country and massacring people, all the while setting the stage for a massive land grab with its creeping so-called “evacuation orders.” These “evacuations” have been focused on the Shiite demographic, with Israel warning Christian and Druze communities not to allow Shiite neighbors to take refuge in their towns (New York Times, 4/1/26).

FIFA World Cup in the USA

The US doesn't care about its image, We're proud to be bullies and racists.

The 2026 World Cup Is ALREADY IMPLODING! w/ Garland Nixon

(12 min) Jimmy and his guest, fellow YouTube host Garland Nixon, criticize the handling of the upcoming FIFA World Cup in the United States, highlighting reports of visa issues, entry denials, security concerns, and the price gouging of fans. The hosts discuss claims that some African teams and officials have faced unusually strict border scrutiny, while also criticizing transportation price increases and expensive tickets that they argue are pricing out ordinary supporters.
The segment accuses FIFA and government authorities of prioritizing profits and politics over the fan experience, drawing comparisons to past controversies involving international sporting events. The discussion concludes by portraying the tournament as an example of broader corruption, corporate influence, and geopolitical tensions impacting global sports.

Scared of ICE, Angry at Trump, and Facing Red Tape, Many Are Skipping World Cup
Hotel bookings lag in all US host cities, and in several a majority of hotel owners say the tournament is a “non-event.”
...
All told, the fall-off in international tourism has translated into a decline of $8.4 billion in tourists’ spending in the U.S.
...citizens of 38 countries are impacted by either full or partial travel bans into the U.S., and citizens from dozens of additional countries are facing freezes on the processing of their visas — which in practice means that unless those residents already have entry visas, they will not be coming into the United States for the World Cup. In other words, people from upward of one-third of the world’s countries (nearly all people of color from Africa, Asia, and parts of Latin America) now face almost insurmountable logistical hurdles when trying to enter the country legally. The ban extends to citizens of Haiti, Iran, Senegal, and the Ivory Coast — all four of which are fielding World Cup teams. Astoundingly, this means that their fans will automatically be excluded from attending the tournament. Last week, a Somali referee, who was supposed to be officiating in the games, was denied entry into the U.S.
...For months now a growing chorus of groups and individuals has called for a boycott of Trump’s World Cup. The advocates of the boycott include ex-FIFA head Sepp Blatter, as well as a vice president of the German Football Federation. More than a hundred civil and human rights organizations have also published a letter warning World Cup visitors of the dangers of visiting the U.S. under Trump.

Trump Sets New World Record By Winning War With Iran 27 Times In One Year

Screenshot 2026-06-14 at 06-45-28 Trump Sets New World Record By Winning War With Iran 27 Times In One Year Babylon Bee.png

President Donald Trump set a new world record this week by winning the same war with Iran for the 27th time this year, shattering the previous record of one.
According to White House officials, Trump first won the war with Iran in February. However, the war started again the following week, but was quickly won, and Trump has continued winning the war multiple times since.
"No one thought we could win the war so many times," Trump told reporters. "We won it very strongly. Then we won it again bigly, and then we won it even more. Frankly, nobody has ever won the same war this many times. It's incredible, many people are saying historic, what we're accomplishing."
Guinness World Records awarded Trump with a special plaque commemorating the prestigious record for winning the most wars against the same country in a single calendar year.

It's the Babylon Bee...

.... stories to become common knowledge in the US, since the year that the US toppled Ukraine's government; and since Hillary's 2016 Presidential run; and since, of course, the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic suddenly swept across the planet.

It's good to learn that Tulsi plans to reveal, finally, US involvement in such matters. I wonder how far she is willing to go. Or, perhaps that doesn't matter. Thinking People should be able to put the whole operation together once they get started. Unless they are determined to remain in political denial.

Seems to me that the US intends to fake its economic Security for at least the remainder of the year. In any event, there's nothing in the short term that can be done to alter the fate of the US, in my opinion..

Did you know that Empires on Earth only last an average of 250 years before they fall apart? How coincidental is that — as we celebrate the 250th Birthday Party of the American Empire? Perhaps it should really be a Going-Away Party.

The 250-year fail rate among empires might be explained by the many natural cycles and events that repeat in the solar system — and in the galaxy beyond. Astrological cycles and their many interesting convergences come to mind.

Some believe tha cyclical celestial events impact, in myriad ways, the physical/temporal/psychological and environmental experiences of individual humans. Moreso the collective experiences of different human generations (which can manifest in stark psychological differences of opinion). Even complex systems (like governments or empires) that humans have set in motion to run indefinitely, can suddenly run down or abruptly stop functioning. Also such malfunctions can be caused by an artificial barriers to the Evolution of human consciousness.

Thanks for the Weekly Watch, Lookout. Much to contemplate here.

Always appreciate the X Post. BTW, Twitter/X was part of the Musk IPO. He's recouped his investment.

This conversation really reveals all the cons and dirty $ investment tactics...

Segment 1: The Trillion-Dollar SpaceX IPO & Deceptive Market Tactics
SpaceX’s historic public debut on the Nasdaq under ticker SPCX has sent shockwaves through the financial world. Billed as the largest IPO in stock market history targeting a staggering valuation, the numbers are massive—but what is happening behind the curtain?

The Deceptive Techniques: We break down the narrative-driven pricing, the unusual fixed-price strategy, and why standard financial media has spent the last six months quietly flashing caution signs to retail participants.

The U.S. Government Nexus: SpaceX is no ordinary commercial entity. With deep-tier military launch monopolies, sprawling defense contracts, and the critical integration of Starlink, we expose the extent of Washington's institutional involvement and regulatory muscle behind Elon Musk's empire.

Segment 2: Iranian Military Action & Wall Street Volatility
As the trading week closes, escalating Iranian military actions have completely captured the attention of macro traders. We pivot to the geopolitical flashpoints in the Middle East, detailing how regional military maneuvers are directly weaponizing supply chains, oil futures, and market sentiment.

The Bottom Line Analyst Brief
While the hype surrounding public access to the space economy is dizzying, institutional analysts suggest following well-established guidelines:
Investing is an inherent risk. Never risk capital you cannot afford to lose.
The Golden Rule: Any investment structure or narrative that looks too good to be true probably isn’t.

Again, always appreciate you X post contributions!

Still, with the Israelis involved, one should have zero trust that any of this will stick.

And, most important, the fuel supply chains are broken. This agreement comes too late to stop the severe impact of fuel and energy shortages that are going to slam into the US before the end of May. This will flip some parts of the US economy into chaos. The US is still likely to enter a great depression. Numerous industries will go offline for lack of fuel and parts. The weapons industry will be dead in the water for lack of rare earths and magnets. The automotive industry is a decade behind the times and can't meet the needs 0f USians. I think this is one where the fiddle is tuned to open A - A,E,A,E

There is also Benton's dream

Benton Flippen (July 18, 1920 – June 28, 2011) was one of the last of the old generation of North Carolina fiddlers which included Tommy Jarrell & Fred Cockerham. In later life he had an association with The Music Makers Relief Organization. This is "Benton's Dream" from his 1999 release "Old Times, New Times". This album was made from old radio broadcasts & some 1993 studio recordings.

I have no idea if John McCain's dream of an Iran war continues, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Trump says Netanyahu ‘has no f**king judgment’ after Beirut strike – report

US president says IDF shouldn’t operate anywhere in Lebanon, reportedly leaving Israeli officials ‘stunned,’ as Washington tries to sweet-talk Iran out of retaliating...

.
From The Times of Israel....
.

US President Donald Trump lashed out at Israel on Sunday after the IDF struck a Hezbollah target in Beirut, angering Tehran and potentially risking the deal Washington is trying to finalize with the Islamic Republic.

Reportedly accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of having “no fucking judgment,” the president also declared that the IDF should be prevented from carrying out any more attacks on any part of Lebanon moving forward, not just Beirut. The suggestion was said to raise concerns among Israeli officials that the prospective US-Iran deal could sharply curb Israel’s military freedom of action.

Launched a marketing promotion that seemed to be glorifying the Chun Doo Hwan government’s massacre in Gwangju in 1980?

I had posted about this on May 18, the commemoration day and again later, following Raphael Rashid's article. It's Starbucks Korea, owned by the Sinsagae chaebol, who is in turn a Samsung heir. Maybe you already saw these comments linked below. I've been following stories about him for a few years. It's alleged he owns property in California in vineyard country near the Chun family estate.

Thanks for the link to Rashid's new article, I hadn't seen it yet.

I suspect the connection to this post above with the picture of the former dictator Chun drinking a Starbucks is more than just random internet influencer. I did some research on the melchi- soybean campaign in the past symbolizing myeol kong (destroy communism). The campaign featured right wing political leaders in the supermarket. Any political opposition to Yoon was contended to be communism. Melchi are small edible dried fish, and kong soybeans. The origin of that publicity campaign was of similar nature and sourcing. The current Lee administration was the opposition at that time. The protestors in May 1980 were alleged to be communists inspired by North Korea. Same thing for the massacres in Cheju Island in 1948.

I posted earlier about the Shinsegae CEO having to apologize for the Starbucks Korea "Tanke" marketing campaign on the Kwangju massacre memorial day. "Tanke" refers to the thermos type large coffee cup that regular patrons tend to bring to coffee chains. Tanke is also konglish for tank. It was an oblique reference to the armored vehicles that slaughtered South Korean protestors against dictator Chun Doo-hwan's seizure of power in May 1980. The original ads have been taken down by the company, but the internet backlash goes on.

I don't think I clearly explained the Sinsegae right wing connection to beans and meolchi in the two links above-

Addendum (6.23.2023) OhMyTV had a report on social media codes favored by far right supporters of Yoon. It's hard to know who started this practice, was it Kim Gon-hee? Yoon and his corporate supporters accuse just about anyone who criticizes or opposes their policies of being jongbuk 종북 or baljengies 빨쟁이 (pro North Korea or reds/commies respectively). One of their slogans in a play on words is myeol kong, the shortened social media code represented in pictures by Yoon and one time supporter Na Kyung-won, (since put out to pasture by Yoon),among others, buying Myeolchi 멸치 (anchovy) and Kong 콩 (beans) in videos at the market chain owned by Shinsegae. The supporters appear to be fascists or extreme right. Myeol Kong 멸콩 means exterminate communists. Recognizing such video and verbal cues serves as a kind of cult secret handshake. When chat groups or bulletin boards strike such posts, they are changed to myeol kyun, exterminate the virus. Allegedly, Chung Yong-jin, 정용진 of the Singsegae fortune, is the leader of a group, 정우회 (friends of Chung or 정치 우파 이사회 right wing politics council, just guessing on the play on words). Chung's golf business is patronized by some of the most powerful chaebol in South Korea according to the OhMyTV account. Allegedly, Sinsegae operates vineyards and a winery near the Chun Doo-hwan family vineyard in Napa valley.
