New Hillary Supporter Talking Point: "Bernie's supporters just wanted to drag the rest of us down the SJW rabbit hole."

This talking point comes via a youtube comment exchange with a Clinton supporter who believed the lie that 25 percent of Sanders supporters would have voted for Trump in the general if Bernie won the primary. What is it with Hillary supporters and identity politics? They accuse us of using all that and acting like 'special little snowflakes' when the Clinton campaign did it themselves over and over and over again. "Bernie can't get the black vote." "Bernie doesn't get Latinos." "White States." "White privilege because we can't survive with Trump." "Special little snowflakes just want free shit." And so on. Wanna know what's worse? The guy who screamed about SJWs (Social Justice Warriors, made quite popular by the 20-something gamergate crowd), which is used by wingnut gamers and other internet trolls to shut down any and all conversation, claimed to be 'centrist (Read: Right-wing apologist)'.

Seriously. I don't think any of these assholes will ever be happy until we all just disappear and let them finish wrecking what's left of the planet already. Barring that, identity politics have played a HUGE part in the schtick of Clinton and her supporters. Some will just vote for her for the sake of having the first US woman president, and that's just as shitty as Republicans voting for Romney because he's a white guy back in 2012. Kos and his minions at the Great Orange Shitcan did the same thing before and after declaring the Ides of March when he said 'You can't win without forming coalitions with minorities blah blah blah' and more stupid lectures about us being 'out of touch', 'selfish' and anything else that could be thrown at us.

It get's worse on youtube, though. All many supporters have over there is 'because Republicans' and 'Stopping trade agreements won't stop automation'.

So instead of trying again and again to argue with Clinton supporters on youtube who are pissing their pants over her meat puppet boogeyman, Donald Trump, I've deleted my account instead. Whelp. That's three websites I've decided to leave behind.

As far as I'm concerned, these morons are more than welcome to keep whining and pissing their pants over Hillary's manufactured boogeyman. I refuse to play along.

And just one more thing: Desiring to elect someone who actually wants to set America's priorities straight is not 'jumping down the SJW rabbit hole'. It's good self-governance.

I'm sick of this shit.

See ya around,

Aspie

I think you could have stopped there!

And as for "Stopping trade agreements won't stop automation", well, yeah, but as I have argued elsewhere , the first things to be automated are going to be neoliberal knowledge work jobs - you know, the kind of jobs the Hillbots all have? So backing a woman who is so totally clueless about this trend is essentially suicidal.

I don't see this as a big problem, simply because the people's will has no force as it is. The government we have already doesn't do what we want. And any movement capable of overriding a neoliberal government is just as capable of negating corporate sovereignty.

You can't overrule the Supreme Court in this country of law unless you overthrow the government.

Ironically, the biggest downside of voting Hill is trumpeted (pun intended) as a strength by her deluded supporters.

This isn't a country of law. Comey and the DoJ made that clear.

The composition of the Supreme Court is set by Congress, not the Constitution. If we wanted we could appoint another ten justices and render the existing nine irrelevent.

We could also simply abandon the agreement. Who's going to enforce it against the US? We're the 800-pound gorilla.

The latest was Credo Mobile. I've been getting their emails for a decade now but the email I received a couple days ago was the end of the line. The last wanted me to sign partition to demand congress investigate Trump for his links to Russia to see if Russia is trying to influence our elections.

They conveniently ignore the roll the DNC played in actually rigging our elections. Instead, they get all wound up over the possibility that Russia might be trying to influence them. It pissed me off and I let them know it in the comment section of the unsubscribe page.

I'm really getting sick and tired of these so called progressive sites ignoring the actions of the DNC and focusing on something to obscure the real issue. Next on my list is going to be Move On if they send me one more email that includes the words Trump and Russia in the same email.

A few years ago I tried and tried and tried to get off the DNC's email list. I'd unsubscribe and wouldn't get any email for a few months and then for no reason it would start again. I'd unsubscribe again and the same thing would. No emails for a couple months and then bingo, I'm on the list again. This happened at least 5 or 6 times. I had finally had it and filled out their little comment box and told them I had tried multiple times to unsubscribe and against my wises they kept adding me back on. I told them "If you ever add me back onto your list without my express written consent, I will file a lawsuit against you. I demand that you permanently remove me from your database and never mail or email me again."

Now, I didn't really believe that would stop them, but much to my surprise, I've never received another email from them!

And Move On got it from me today! That was the last email I'll be getting from them. I've actually been on Move On's email list since their inception back in the 1990's when they they first started their site with the "Censure and Move On" campaign. I also made that perfectly clear in my good bye note. There is a major political shift underway. So called "progressive" sites better pay attention or they're going to disappear.

So you railed against identity politics but then you also said:

Wanna know what's worse? The guy who screamed about SJWs (Social Justice Warriors, made quite popular by the 20-something gamergate crowd), which is used by wingnut gamers and other internet trolls to shut down any and all conversation, claimed to be 'centrist (Read: Right-wing apologist)'.

Gamergate had a point, regardless of whether you're too ignorant (willfully or otherwise, depending on where you got your information) to see it. "SJW" is only used to shut down conversation to the extent that SJWs try to use identity politics, bullying, and shaming to control conversation, and pointing out when people are trying to exert such control does not make one a right-wing apologist or a troll.

It's funny: for years, the right (that's the real, actual right, not "everyone who doesn't agree with you 100%") has been pointing out problems both with the Democrats and with the left generally, and so have a number of centrist and alt-left independents - and rather than take the opportunity to self-reflect, the supposedly more-educated, more-enlightened, and more-tolerant left doubled down.

Was just unmitigated harassment at folks like Anita Sarkeesian just for stating the obvious when it came to women being used as plot devices, among other things. Oh, and shutting down female developers who supposedly slept with reviewers so they got better reviews than they deserved. The big guys do that kind of shit all the time and that never seemed to bother them before. Funny, isn't it?Last I heard Thunderfoot was still milking that cash cow even though it died a slow painful death. But hey, the man's gotta make a living, right? Keep in mind I'm not a fan of hers or any internet 'feminist' for that matter, but maybe she wouldn't have gotten as much attention as she did if a bunch of man-children hadn't whined about it and tried to harass people they didn't like out of existence.

If gamergate really wanted to do something constructive besides bitching about people criticizing their medium of choice, how about speaking out about the way companies are half-assing games and then releasing the rest as DLC? That's been huge with AAA developers over the better part of the last decade.

And as far as gaming and controversies go, I was playing Mortal Kombat when most gamergaters were in diapers to start with.

Well, that was the story coming from feminists and the gaming media... and if you believe that, then you probably also believe there's a special place in Hell for women who don't vote for Hillary.

The smears they used against Gamergate were remarkably like the smears used against "BernieBros", and that's because they were using the same playbook.

man-children

You could just say you're biased.

If gamergate really wanted to do something constructive besides bitching about people criticizing their medium of choice, how about speaking out about the way companies are half-assing games and then releasing the rest as DLC?

Because that's outside the scope of what Gamergate was trying to do, which was to hold gaming media accountable. Speaking out about how the way companies are half-assing games and the releasing the rest as DLC is what the gaming media should be doing.

(There was another thing that Gamergate was trying to do, although most of them either denied it or weren't aware of it. SJWs have been attacking "geek culture" in all its forms for years now, and a lot of geeks are sick of being told that all their media is "problematic", that they are all sexists and racists, and that white men are the problem. Gamergate tried to fight back, which is one big reason why anti-Gamergate cast them all as sexist white bros. Unfortunately, a lot of people on the left eat that shit up with a spoon.)

And as far as gaming and controversies go, I was playing Mortal Kombat when most gamergaters were in diapers to start with.

Considering the number of present-day adults who grew up with Atari or Nintendo and the way "gamer" demographics are skewing older and older, I wouldn't be so sure about that. But I guess when you call people "man-children" it pleases you to imagine them in diapers.

Gamergate had a point, insofar as it pertained to transparency in gaming journalism, which is notoriously corrupt, but it went completely off the rails when it started deploying actual sexism to combat what the people that were part of it saw as unfair, identity politics-based suppression of speech. The problem is that people on both sides were so wedged into their "Gamegate is sexist" and "SJWs are terrible" dichotomy that any relevant issues that they both brought up were lost in the constant back-and-forth between them. It also didn't help that most gaming outlets and forums banned anyone for even suggesting that Gamergate was anything other than sexist and that they might have a point.

Plus, Gamergate itself is interesting in that it was more of an intra-left dispute than a traditional right-left argument. The right picked up on it eventually, but it was really more of an argument between a faction of the Anonymous-like folks on 4chan and the neoliberal left. In that sense, it was fascinating to see how the establishment immediately shut down the critique of the industry by deploying "sexist" as an attack designed to silence and shame the opposition. Even today, a lot of people in gaming media, particularly at clickbait tabloid sites like Kotaku and Polygon, just assume that any critiques of the behavior of people in the industry are motivated by sexism, even when it's revealed in the end that said individuals--both men and women--acted inappropriately.

You can't really expect honesty or ethics. I might be exaggerating a bit but if business journalism were honest, especially about products released by the big guys, then the guys who pay them for reviews wouldn't make money. Or at the very least, they wouldn't sell as much as they want to.

It also doesn't help that businesses work their employees to death, especially during holiday seasons, to get products out even if they aren't finished. That's what really needs work, I think.

There's a conflict of interest everywhere in gaming media. I don't ever expect it to get resolved, but I think that one of the big reasons why there hasn't been a big consumer revolt against the terrible practices of the big devs and publishers is because the media is so complicit in pushing their business model onto people. Even now, it seems like there's a record low level of trust between gamers and media, and folks are turning to YouTube personalities for a more "unfiltered" perspective, but in some respects, that's even worse in terms of transparency.

I definitely do agree with you 100% on the production side, though. The annualization of sequels and the transformation of gaming into a service rather than a product has pretty much ruined the hobby and has set the industry up for another crash in the long term. It's all about immediate profit and selling everything to us piecemeal, while the devs have little job security, are underpaid, and have their creative choices undercut by the higher ups. Like every other industry, all the money is heading to the top while the workers get screwed.

Not only is the product better quality, but the pace of development is much slower, and the interaction with the fans is much better.

Yes, it means I'm several years behind on graphics, but as that's all AAA seems to care about anymore, it seems I'm several years ahead on gameplay, plot, and sound. (Oh lord the music. One of the greatest joys of being a fan of indie games is hearing and talking to composers. Have learned SO much from just a few conversations.)

Instead they became a weaponized mob and internet cash cow that was all too easy to exploit. Not a single one of them had the balls to deal with the corruption or the other problems plaguing the industry and that eventually led to it becoming little more than a punchline. And it was well deserved considering how readily they shit on small scale developers while giving the larger ones a pass.

Yeah, because god forbid we actually question the guys who churn out our overly priced roided out spank fests with new and shiny digital eyelash rendering. Never mind the people who are worked to death from programmers to artists to rush it all out before the Black Friday and Christmas Hunger Games despite still being in what could be considered a beta stage. Then those same companies will sell the rest of the game as shitty paid DLC and make out like bandits.

Let's just go after a female developer based on bullshit spread around forums by a pissed off, vindictive ex-boyfriend. Let's go after a female media critic who stated the obvious, too. Oh, but we're totally not sexist assholes because paid shills from the American Enterprise Institute and A Voice for Men who happened to be women joined our cause and totally legitimized the movement.

You're writing fiction now?

"Not a single one of them had the balls to deal with the corruption or the other problems plaguing the industry"

What you mean is that not a single one of them had the platform to do so. That was the media's job, which is why GG went after the media. The media used their platform to smear its critics instead.

"Let's just go after a female developer based on bullshit spread around forums by a pissed off, vindictive ex-boyfriend."

If the genders were reversed, you wouldn't dare describe what happened this way, you sexist hypocrite.

"Let's go after a female media critic who stated the obvious, too."

By "stated the obvious", you mean "packaged a slanted and inaccurate narrative with cherry-picked evidence to support the false conclusion her aggrieved and entitled followers wanted to see".

"Oh, but we're totally not sexist assholes because paid shills from the American Enterprise Institute and A Voice for Men who happened to be women joined our cause"

"Injustice Collectors" is.

And there are more Injustice Collectors among the Hillbots than among the Berniacs. Berniacs tend to want to actually fix what is wrong with American society. Hillbots just want to whine against us trying to do so.

From the linked website, here's some evidence to this assertion:

Characteristics of Injustice Collectors

1. Injustice collectors are never wrong. How is it possible that they are never wrong? It's simple: They are always right.

2. Injustice collectors never apologize. Ever. For anything.

3. Injustice collectors truly believe they are morally and ethically superior to others and that others seem incapable of holding themselves to the same high standards as the injustice collector does.

4. Injustice collectors [want to] make the rules, break the rules and enforce the rules of the [nation]. They are a combination of legislator, police, judge and jury to those they consider their subjects. They forever banish from their kingdom any subject they deem disloyal, and only grant clemency if there is sufficient (in their eyes) contrition.

5. Injustice collectors never worry about what is wrong with them as their "bad" list grows. Their focus is always on the failings of others.

6. Injustice collectors are never troubled by the disparity between their rules for others and their own expectations of themselves. Injustice collectors rationalize their own behavior with great ease and comfort.

7. Injustice collectors have an external orientation; the problem always exists in the world, outside of themselves, and in their view, the world would be an acceptable place if their rules and standards were followed at all times.

8. Injustice collectors do not have a capacity for remorse, empathy or guilt.

10. The phrase "walking on eggshells" describes life with an injustice collector.

11. The IC (injustice Collector) will prey upon your weaknesses to frame all issues in their terms.

12. IC's will always cry foul when you are 'mean' to them and accuse you of being nasty when you are confronting them with their negative behavior.

14. They can only strengthen relationships through imprisoning their mates and banning behaviors and other relationships. Friends and family are a huge threat to the IC.

16. They do not care about you at all, they care about aggrandizing themselves with you as an assistant producer.

19. Hypocrisy is their modus operandi for debating and arguing with you. Everything they say about you is true about them. (aka Projection) It makes it so you try to 'win' fights by getting them to agree with you, which they never can because their whole position is false.

Does that sound like the situation at TOP, or what?

Sounds exactly like an SJW to me, except that your description is generalized whereas an SJW specifically uses "social justice" and the high moral ground it presumably grants its advocates as an excuse for their behavior and a means of attack.

I have to admit I'm having a hard time thinking of any non-SJW examples, although some of the most stubborn and obnoxious right-wingers might fit (right-libertarians in particular, for whom all government is crime and theft, except when it's protecting their stuff).

I was under the impression that the individuals traditionally identified as SJWs were Hillary supporters, given their use of identity politics to shut down debate and redirect to only the social issues that they care about. Practically all of the folks that signed that #WeAreTheLeft dumpster fire of a manifesto weeks ago are from that contingent. The "Social Justice Warrior" label, at least as I understand it, really applies to individuals who talk the talk on social justice issues, but come from highly privileged backgrounds, and refuse to walk the walk. Most of what they say is straightforward neoliberalism.

The majority of the folks that refuse to vote for Hillary now do so on the basis of concrete policy, while the folks that are bashing the hell out of us are screaming "Trump is a Nazi" and calling us sexists.

created. Many of us joined during the Bush years, mainly because of the Iraq war, the tax breaks for the rich and the illegal spying.
But once Obama was elected and continued his policies, especially continuing PNAC's war in the Middle East, his use of drones, killing Americans without due process and expanding the illegal spying, many people just accepted those actions because it was Obama doing them.
Remember how many people said that Snowden was a traitor for revealing the spying program?
Or the I/P pie fights?
Or accepting that the war on Libya was acceptable because Gaddafi was a bad person?
Now despite the evidence that Hillary is a warmonger, her supporters refuse to see it.
They believe that after spending 4 years giving speeches on how great the TPP is going to be, they believe her after she said that she is against it as it is written now.
Or that she is going to do something about climate change after she spent 4 years pushing for fracking all over the world.
But the biggest change is Markos coming out in support of Hillary, going so far as to make his website the laughing stock of progressive websites.
His acceptance of the people being paid by Correct the Record and letting them deride longtime members.
Here is the article he wrote when Hillary ran against Obama.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/05/AR200605...
Add everything she has done since then, including her paid speeches to the banks and refusing to see that she isn't going to regulate the people who had funded the Clinton's entire political careers, and especially the favors that she and Bill owe the people and governments who paid Bill millions in speaking fees and donating to their foundation.
If Hillary loses the election, it isn't going to be because of the Bernie supporters, it's going to be because she is a liar and people don't trust her.

The entire "SJW" has gotten insanely expansive, to the point where you have people screaming that people are SJW's for attacking people who don't like movies as sexist.

It's gotten to a factional war on Twitter, with groups of users demanding oaths of fealty, and numerous other ridiculous tactics, all straight out of the DKOS playbook.

As a term, it no longer has any meaning anymore. It's been attempted to be reclaimed by the "SJW's" to be a term of pride, but is also used by those that dismiss that meaning. As a result it's a meaningless word, much like "Sexist" has become anyone who differs from an opinion held by someone who wants to employ shame as a tactic. (Jill Stein supporters, supposedly are sexists. It has NO meaning anymore.)

Smears and accusations are only inflamed by the media, which likes to hold up certain people as victims, and others as aggressors, until it's no longer clear exactly what happened, and all we have left is a great deal of hearsay obfuscated by dozens of people shouting that they KNOW it's true because somebody else said it was true. This is exactly how everybody KNOWS Nader cost Gore the election. This is how everybody KNOWS Bernie Bros threw chairs. This is how everybody KNOWS anybody who criticizes certain people is a Sexist... on and on.

Eventually you just can't trust anything the media says. Which is my policy. I know both gamergaters and self proclaimed SJWs. When they stick to the topic and debate properly, it's amazing how cognizant and eloquent they can be. The mudslinging match the media wants is not the reality, but the perceived reality, which is what people react to.

Socialist, Communist, Fascist...just to name a few. And most of the time they're used as a means of stopping meaningful conversation.

Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.

Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.

You are not supposed to mention her age; her voice; her laugh; her health, her hideous fashion sense, her marriage; how she got the job titles that supposedly qualify her to be President; her job performance as Secretary of State or, indeed, any of her track record before last month; my abuela's pandering; her bigoted primary campaign of 2008; her bigoted primary campaign of 2016; her hugs to Kissinger, Bush 43 and Trump, among others; her symbiotic relationship with Wall Street; her email servers; DNC corruption on her behalf during the primary; what actually happened to the Hillary Victory Fund; her Iraq War vote; her opposition to equal marriage until 2013; her willingness to negotiate a constitutional amendment on choice; her screaming hypocrisy about Citizens United,; her involvement with the DLC and Al From, etc., etc., etc.

I've long since given up on Truman"s "The buck stops here." No Politician ever takes responsibility for anything anymore. However, whatever happened to Truman's "If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen?"

I can't imagine subscribing to any ideology or supporting any candidate where social justice is not part of the agenda.

There are genuine warriors for social justice who aren't narcissistic dicks. (Example: Bernie Sanders.)

That's why the term "Injustice Collectors" is the superior term to use here, IMO. "Injustice Collectors" are the narcissistic dicks, and only the narcissistic dicks. It makes it a lot easier to talk about the the narcissistic dicks when you only want to talk about them.

And this election cycle is replete with the "Injustice Collector" species of the narcissistic dicks, as is TOP at the current time!
