Trump

What if no candidate has a majority of electors in the GE?

the President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted; -- The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the H

Canadian News: Canada To Build A Wall If Trump Wins (AF edition)

Last evening, the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs minister, Stèphane Dion, announced a two-phase plan should Mr. Trump win on Election Day. The first phase would be to "thicken" existing border crossings. This phase could cost up to $10 billion over two years. The second phase would begin after a governmental evaluation following the mid-term elections. Should it be clear to Canada that a wall would be required, construction would begin at an eye-popping $20 billion, over four years. More below. (Meh, no one likes Canadian April Fool's humour. Oh well. "G, you turkey" :=) I get to laugh at myself: that works well too!)

Idle musings, or idol amusings

Usually, some cable or boredcast news program is on in the background in my office. Originally I had planned to do a scathing review of the state of the state of the state of journalism in our state. For example, Blitz Wolfer was talking to some legal official about the charges being brought against Trumps campaign mangler, Corey Lewd'n'nasty. The official clearly stated, "Charges have been brought but the Defendant has not been arrested."

Delusional Trump interview

A conservative radio station had the opportunity to spend 10 minutes with Teh Don. I never heard of the radio host, but Charlie Sykes actually did a decent job. He was prepared, he followed up, and he asked questions to which people really want answers from him.

"Congrats on the birth of your grandchild."

Walls

One thing about walls is that they are dual purpose. They keep things out. They keep things in. Next time Trump and cohorts enter his place in NYC I suggest we quickly build a wall so he can't come back out. Arrange supplies so they can eat etc. but cut all but emergency communications.

I have too many Muslim friends to put up with these islamophobic attacks.

It's Over Gandalf. We Need to Unite Behind Saruman To Save Middle Earth From Sauron!

I’ve been on Team Gandalf ever since he first visited the Shire. It was so nice to see a wizard who was truly a wizard of the people. The kind of wizard who wouldn’t even throw you in a dungeon for smoking a little Longbottom Leaf or Old Toby. Here was a wizard who didn’t have a big fancy tower. His staff and cloak were rather plain and grey. And he had quite a dream, didn’t he?

2B or knotty B. That is the question

Honestly, I was spoiled by the result in Michigan. I actually, factually thought that Illinois would be berning up the polls yesterday. Pity that he only closed a 23 point gap by 21 points. (which is still a heck of an accomplishment.) Losing to her in her home state? By such much? It makes me wonder what would have happened after another week, given the trend lines.
