Getting back to it.

Good morning everyone.
Temps have leveled off to the low 80s for the next week or so, but no rain forecast.
The wind direction has changed to an onshore flow, clearing out the wildfire smoke and returning blue skies to our region. Yay. It got really bad here for a few days. Couldn't work at all outside. So it's all moving eastward, coming your way, sorry about that.
But now the real harvesting will have to begin. Tomatoes first, and they will probably have to be washed to get the smokey soot off. Then the onions that were planted first in the staggered planting. Some more potatoes are ready to dig up, and some corn will be ready next week or two.
E2 is having some back problems with the L5 pinching the spinal nerve and has surgery scheduled for early September. She is in a lot of pain.
So it's up to me to get this done unless I lean on some of the kids to come up and help. I'm sure they will be happy to help, especially since they will take home much of what they harvest.
My back is starting to wane. So I've got to start slowing down a little and give it a break. Sucks getting old.
Speaking of backs.
Trump has certainly backed himself into a corner with knives at his back from congressional friends and foes, and an implacable opponent in his face. He reminds me of Curly Joe continuously stepping on the same rake.
A tremendous DUH!
So will Israel toss the first nuke? Or will Bibi trick Trump into doing the deed?
Sane mind want to know.
I think I hear the flutter of a false flag in the air.
Thread is open.

Good morning, e1!
That's great news about your fresh air and harvest.
Sorry to hear about the bad backs. This aging process is an adventure. Live long enough, and gravity becomes a health risk.
My back problem is limited to some pinched nerve that causes itching. No pain, just unrelenting itching. I can rub my spine in the right place with DMSO and it stops, but I can't go out in public with some grease spot on my shirt. sigh...
I sold my huge conference table and 5 chairs. A crew is coming to take them away today. They will be used in the city's community center. More office furniture will be sold and taken away next week. I am amazed how emotionally unaffected I am to shut things down after 40 years.
I will enjoy working from home, dealing with clients via phone or email.
Well, I hope all of us are not diesel fuel dependent. I think it is gonna be damn pricey!
Thanks for the OT and best wishes for your wife's surgery and recovery.

A similar issue pertains to home heating oil
.
historically the cost per gallon is cheapest this time of year
so we fill the tanks before fall. But of course trumpet's dumb
adventure has set the market on it's head. Looking at about
$4.75/ gal when it used to be about $2.75. When trying to fill
2) 275 gal. tanks ($2600), will need to pull out another mortgage
just to stay warm next winter. Running on empty now. Only heating
hot water tank which doesn't use much. Sheesh.
Glad the town is helping you liquidate assets. Maybe they want to
see you gone? Just kidding. As long as it works in your favor it's good.
Zionism is a social disease
I fill up a 200 gallon
propane tank about once a year to 18 months. It is for the water heater and stove.
The electricity bill is pretty reasonable for a/c and heating. We are supplied by a co-op. Everyone owns their share of the company, and we all vote on who is elected to the board.

I remember back when co-ops and Wall Street would duke it out
with each other via full-page ads in the pages of Time and Newsweek, respectively proclaiming the virtues of “consumer-owned” versus “investor-owned” electric utilities …
"Gravity a health risk"
I like that. I'm keeping it!
The nice thing about being a union tradesman is the company owned everything, the tools, equipment, even the truck. So I just kept my tool pouches
They gave me a nice cordless drillmotor kit, brand new though.
My tractor is the only thing I need Diesel for, and it sips it. Nonetheless, l have 20 gallons stashed away.
And we now have two all electric Leafs, his and hers, for 90% of our transportation needs.
Screw the oil companies.
Thanks for stopping by.

Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.
Glad to hear the skies have cleared out your way
.
Still have the 90 degree / 90% humid thing going here.
Slowing down is a good plan. The back sure ain't what it
used to be. And pain is no fun at all.
Speaking of pain, when will trumpet dismount his high horse?
Do his failures and losses need to be rubbed in his face?
Seems he will not be content until he drags us all down to his
level of stupidity.
Thanks for the OT and good luck.
Zionism is a social disease
At least
Trumps supporters will provide a fine litmus test for stupid going forward.
I predict in ten years (if we make it that long) the only people who will admit to voting for him will be the truly stupid.
Thanks for the post.

Trump says the
Strait of Hormuz is open.
However, our blockade fired on a ship sailing under a Finnish flag that was attempting to go through the Strait.
Encyclopedia Britannica needs to update their definition of "open strait" and "cease fire".
edit:Panama flag, not Finland

Trump is a perfect example
of a creature spawned by TPTB.
The truth is always completely opposite of what he says.
And so be it with all the swamp creatures. In such a way they unwittingly reveal the truth.

Most of his ardent supporters
that I know still say he is better than Harris.
That's about all they can come up with.
Pedos are ok, whores are not ok, or something along those lines.

Signing off
as we are on our way to the farm to watch the meteor shower tonight.
H/tip to QMS. Thanks.
Will try to catch up later.
