The Weekly Watch
The Disunited Empire of America

A couple of weeks ago PR added a comment saying 250 years is the average life span of empire. I guess we've arrived. The nation is locked in perpetual war against other countries and our own citizens. The constitution is ignored especially the bill of rights. The nation seems to be under the control of Israel as a bill works its way through congress to unite the US military with Israel's. The petrodollar is on its last leg as nations around the world divest of US dollars and bonds. We're not just a nation divided, we're an empire divided. Much more below the fold...

Gerald can get carried away, but he's correct in his analysis -
United Empire of America... Federal Government Exceeds Power Beyond Constitution
(20 min) Gerald Celente and Judge Andrew Napolitano discuss how we have lost our liberty and freedom as tyrannical leaders run ruin our lives.
Judge Andrew P. Napolitano on July 4, 2026
Today, the feds employ close to 3 million. Thomas Jefferson warned that when the federal treasury becomes a federal trough, and the people recognize it as such, they will only send to Washington politicians — faithless to the Constitution — who promise to bring home the most cash.
In a democracy, a faithless majority will take whatever it wants from the minority — including its liberty and property. That’s where we are today on the 250th anniversary of the start of this Jeffersonian and Madisonian experiment — a country the Founders wouldn’t recognize as their creation.

- The title is funny, Chris. Trump cannot even save his own ass.
- The USA is a government of the billionaires for the billionaires - AMB. Chas Freeman
- The US signed a MOU with Iran, played by JD Vance, and then a framework agreement contradicting the first clause of the MOU with Lebanon/Israel played by Marco Rubio. This is the schizophrenic US "diplomacy".

War On Iran
The U.S. claim of “limited influence” over Israel makes absolutely no sense. Israel is 100% dependent on U.S. money and protection. The U.S. has used more air defense missiles against attacks on Israel by Iran than Israel itself had fired.
It seems that the “senior U.S. official” who issued the story, likely Vice President JD Vance, wants to depict himself as positive towards Iran to gain a friendlier atmosphere in future negotiations.

Requiem for America on the Fourth of July Chris Hedges

Neoliberalism, better understood by its less sanitized term cutthroat capitalism, is the poison that destroyed our democracy. It gave the billionaire class and corporations the ideological cover to impoverish the working class, impose crippling austerity, hollow out democratic institutions, buy off our two ruling political parties and deform our courts into appendages of corporations and the rich. ....
Neoliberalism ignores the cries of its victims. It dismisses their suffering and rage as irrational, ignorant and racist. It neuters liberal reforms, rendering them cosmetic and useless. Liberal apologists for neoliberalism, no longer concerned with economic justice, retreat into boutique activism. They mouth empty slogans about diversity and political correctness while pretending the relentless class war, unleashed globally since the 1970s, does not exist. The victims of neoliberal deindustrialization, 30 million of whom lost their jobs in the U.S. in mass layoffs, understand that the precarity of their existence does not concern their neoliberal masters. ...
Concentrating wealth in the hands of a global oligarchic elite — the twelve richest billionaires own more wealth than the poorest half of the world — is designed to create massive income inequality and monopoly power. It is the antithesis of democratic equality. It is designed to fuel political extremism and foster social and cultural divisions. It is designed to hollow out democratic institutions. Economic rationality is not the point. David Harvey calls neoliberalism “accumulation by dispossession.” ...
The media bears much of the blame. In the name of objectivity, better understood as neutrality, it absented itself from the class war. It did not investigate the mounting abuses of the rich, corporations or its bought-and-paid-for political class. It did not expose the absurdity of neoliberalism. It rendered the victims invisible. By shutting themselves out of the debate, the media, a vital pillar of any democracy, neutered itself. It too became despised. ...
Fascism uses the blunt instruments of fear, intimidation and violence to curb the mounting disquiet. It divides the country into warring factions — the patriots vs. the enemies of the state. It obliterates shared values. It champions the cruelty of hypermasculinity. Those who dissent are branded domestic terrorists. Civil liberties are abolished in the name of national security.
The 30- to 100-year sentences meted out to eight anti-ICE protesters in Texas, who were portrayed in court as an “antifa terror cell,” are being normalized. ...
Our country, as we once knew it, no longer exists. It was methodically destroyed by neoliberal con artists. The institutions and legal protections that once shielded us from tyranny no longer function. Those who champion an open society are orphans, smeared as traitors, excoriated as the “radical left.” I mourn what we have lost. I mourn what we are about to lose. This social isolation will soon be physical isolation. We will be criminalized or driven into exile. ...

Good morning, LO!
We are packing and loading the car to head home. Just wanted to add that an American commenting on Moon of Alabama said yesterday that troops from an Army base near his home were flying out in large numbers. Seems we are sending our troops to fight and die for Israel.
We enjoyed the concerts yesterday. Time to go home, get back into the grind.
Will catch up with all y'all this afternoon.

What to do? Build local community. Somebody this week was saying that America is fated to become a multi-regional complex. States right were eroded and could evolve as regional powers.
However, I think we could nationalize, but in a re-designed system. If we did try for a new constitution the Epstein class would control the process, so checkmate again.
Back to think global, act local.

Good morning Lookout, thanks for all the info, the videos and,
of course, the OT. Been on the run since 6 am, so I'm just getting around to this, and I'm starting with Larry Johnson's comparison of the propaganda war to the real one. The letter from the Ruskie expat living in the Med sounds like one of our posters, I wonder if she's a Key source or something.
I note the absence of information on Kelce and Swift, as well as the heroics of the USMNT, so I guess I'll have to listen to Alex, or something like that.

miraculously. Two sports cars were speeding in Austin, maybe racing, going lane to lane for several miles, speed of 100 mph at the least, and the car in the lead almost rammed us from behind. Zionism is a social disease
Pertaining to the endemic civilizational crisis in the US
.... which is directly addressed in the Daniel Davis interview with Gen Douglas McGregor — posted above, the sixth video from the top. In many ways, this is the heart of today's Weekly Watch.
Lookout remarked:
.
We (Westerners) don't really have any psychological defenses to soothe our fears that, in a fit of paranoid insanity, Trump could spuriously launch a lethal attack against a powerful US rival — in a sudden fit of terror over "Communism." American fears are especially potent because no one knows for sure who this Communist menace is, or their evil communist activity that could destroy the United States. Again, sane people may feel extreme uncertainty due to the cognitive dissonance of their Leaders, expressing irrational terror.
I am reminded of the feelings of dread that suddenly bloomed in my brain a few weeks ago, during President Trump's surreal meeting in China with President Xi Jinping. "Danger. Everything in the world is suddenly twisted and wrong."
Going into that Beijing meeting, Trump and the Billionaires and Israel-Firsters who accompanied him, stretched reality into so many unnatural shapes — shapes that defied the laws of physics in 3-dimensional space — in order to convince the Chinese to use their military power and regional influence to de-escalate the chaos in the Strait of Hormuz.
To even consider such an extraordinary proposal from the US, requires enormous cognitive dissonance ( what were the US leaders thinking?) Additionally, the timing of such a request lays bare the insanity that was raging in the control center of the US government. China, of course, was generous and accommodating as they politely demurred — and no one has mentioned this extraordinary incident, since. However, I regard this as a key Watershed Moment in US history. At that moment we had a mountain-top OverView of the path humanity was following — perhaps the one remaining path that leads to a survivable future. At the same time, the view reveals which of several branching paths that lie ahead are actually dead ends.
Given the deceptive negotiations with Iran, it’s possible that we may be sidetracked on one of those branching dead ends.
Keep in mind, the Neocon-NATO-Nazi leaders in the West cannot stop projecting their delusional assumptions about the strategic goals of their rivals (China, Russia, and Iran). Western Leaders have actually been captured by the lies and propaganda produced by the CIA for the US media monopolies. (This same hazardous situation had occurred in 2016-17, when politicians were captured by the Russia Hoax — the largest mass-delusional event in modern US history. It instantly launched the United States on a trajectory of self-destructive false beliefs and mind-blowing revelations about the deceitful and immoral actions of the Federal Government, as it depopulates the "losers" created by its cruel policies. This is what we are living through. This modern nightmare is supported by extreme cognitive dissonance in the minds of the People and the Politicians. And the matriculation of psychopaths to positions of management and oversight.
Much to agree with here
.
insofar as the cognitive dissonance and institutional insanity.
It does have a purpose to maintain hegemony and control. To
keep us docile and afraid. So communism is the next bugaboo

Zionism is a social disease
Nah. They probably just
focus-group-tested a whole bunch of pejoratives, and some consultant told them that “communist” was the least worn out. Everybody has heard all the other current ones so often that they now carry too little irrational knee-jerk emotional freight, so it is back to the classics…
It doesn’t mean anything more now than it ever has, really. It is just the fighting word du jour for the red team talking-point stenographers.

“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
Hmm — in my day, public schools in Honolulu were really bad
and a big waste of time, and I suspect that is probably still true.
There’s a strong tendency in Honolulu for even kama‘aina (= longtime local) families, if they can at all afford it, to want to send their kids to a private high school (Punahou, Kamehameha, Iolani, …) and then a university in North America (colonized diction: “on the Mainland”), if they’re expected to develop their talents to the fullest and make a mark in life.
What I’m getting at is that, in many places, the quality and sociology of the public school system do not put socialism in that good a light — more like the reverse.
Our leaders are delusional...

travelogue
I haven't seen one of these in a while. Probably since 2019. I heard elsewhere that the Beijing-Pyongyang train was operating since March for selected passengers. A couple of South Korean youtubers took the same train and said they weren't allowed to go into North Korea. They had to get off in Dandong, China, and content themselves with gazing across the Yalu river. I was interested to hear them report that they weren't allowed into Korean restaurants in Dandong, staffed with North Koreans. In that video, a local Chinese guy said that the lowest paid Chinese worker in the area, makes ten times what a North Korean laborer makes. They then had a discussion about trafficking in young North Korean women to wealthy Chinese men, "for marriage," allegedly carried out with North Korean government complicity. The prices discussed seemed astronomical by North Korean standards. I know trafficking takes place by people posing as good Samaritans helping North Koreans who want to defect, but my understanding was these women paid to escape across the border, and then are sometimes kidnapped and sold off by traffickers on the Chinese side, if not worse.
There's been a lot of talk about North Korea's economy "booming." I think with the exception of Pyongyang, judging by the video below, it's not "booming," but just getting by like they did before covid. When I see people selling stuff on the side of the road, I'll be more confident about that. The scenery on the train ride hasn't changed much. The countryside, the laborers, the worn out villages, the old tractors, bicycles, even oxen, for farm use. I think the Russian said he's one of the first tourists, not a government employee, diplomat, other than a Chinese or North Korean to go across since 2019. I'm not certain...

Hi Lo
I'm glad you got some rain, and happy to have your well wishes.
It's winter in Auckland, a mixture of rain, sun and warmth from the fireplace. I'm glad we are happy in the little corners we found.
Cheers
