It's dizzying

open thread_103.jpg

Have a doctor appointment this morning at 8:25 so will be a little late in hosting.
Had a bout of vertigo two weeks qgo that would not go away. Lasted for three days while working at the farm. On the fourth day I went to the ER per my doctor's instruction and got checked out.
EKG, two MRIs, and a blood panel later.
They couldn't find anything wrong. They gave me some Meclizine pills.
Saturday was back at the farm cuttin' trees down and shovlin' compost an started getting dizzy again.
I think I might be overworking myself.
I'll be 75 next Tuesday, I probably should slow down some.
Who was it that said something about it happens slowly at first, then suddenly?
Have since heard from those around me that they have the same experiences.
Open Thread so what say you guys?

when the body is stressed tend to overload, reducing flow.
The dizzying spect is your brain reacting to constrictions.
Just a theory, mind you. Am not a medical specialist, but have
had those spells and that is as close to a self diagnosis I can make.
Easing up should help and give it time to re-equiliberalize.
I use a steady diet of blood thinners which helps some.
good luck

@QMS
Doc suspects inner ear problem. Sending me off to some kind of phiz therapy and an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist.
Fun times.
Not glad I'm giving up my Harley. Had some good times with it. But it's getting crazy out there now and with this vertigo thing it's a no brainer.

vertigo must go, sir! If you are lucky, it is from some ear problem, not heart and circulation screw ups.
Sorry about the Harley, but it is a dangerous toy.
My Harley story:
An old friend joined a biker group composed of mostly retired folks. On Saturdays, they gathered at noon, rode from one bar to another, until dusk. Often, one of the drunk riders would get killed on the way home. The bikers would all gather at the funeral, ride in the procession. Afterwards, they would gather at a bar, then another, until dusk. Occasionally, one of the drunk riders would get killed on the way home. At some point, the only time they gathered was at funerals. Pretty soon, the group dwindled and went away. The ones remaining alive switched to fancy old cars and trucks, continued their bar trek.

I had it. Pretty bad anytime I moved my head I lost my balance. Wife did the epley maneuver and cured it.

ukraine

The newspaper confirmed that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian men continue to evade conscription. Some reported being beaten or detained for several days until they signed conscription papers.

The WSJ mentioned that groups from across the Ukrainian society are lobbying parliament for exemptions under the new law. Companies have also suggested paying a tax to keep their workers away from the front lines.

iraq

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed that a drone launched from Iraq targeted a naval base in the Gulf of Eilat.

The attack was attributed to the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of pro-Iranian militias operating in Iraq and Syria.

According to IDF reports, the incident unfolded late last night when a suspicious aerial target was detected heading towards the Gulf of Eilat. The drone penetrated Israeli airspace from Jordan, triggering sirens in the area, the first such alarm in three weeks. The UAV ultimately struck the IDF base in Eilat, causing minor damage to a building.

@gjohnsit

the news that the Israelis (using our spiffy F-35s and missiles) attacked a convoy of people and supplies from the World Central Kitchen (chef José Andrés's charity NGO) and killed several, with the excuse that there must have been a terrorist with them *somewhere*.

They've now bombed an embassy, which was presumably full of terrorists, and every hospital in Gaza, which were all presumably full of terrorists. Every apartment building is presumably full of terrorists, as is every vehicle that moves. Every resident of Gaza is a de facto terrorist, it seems; at least if the Israelis are to be believed.

All the norms of international relations are completely out the window now. The Israelis should understand, then, when the rest of the world decides that the Israelis are in fact the terrorists, and wipes *them* out. After them, then we'll be next, since we are their bankroll and arms supplier. We will undoubtedly belly up to the bar to "protect" them, using every means at our disposal.

It didn't have to be this way. But our beloved government is doing everything they can to escalate it every step of the way, adding new fronts to this war as fast as they can. This is all being done with the utmost deliberateness.

It makes me absolutely *sick*. An eye for an eye leaves the whole world a smoking, sputtering, radioactive crater. That day is coming, and very soon. World War III has already begun. The only remaining question is when it will peak, and what the final butcher's bill will be.

Do you happen to be taking it? Mind, I had nothing like your symptoms. Best wishes for your recovery. I hope you can find opportunity to pass on your skills and other wisdom.

World Central Kitchen said it had coordinated with the Israeli military over the movement of the cars carrying the workers as they left northern Gaza late Monday. Footage of the aftermath showed a vehicle with the charity’s logo printed across its roof to make it identifiable from the air. The projectile punched a large hole through the roof. Two other vehicles in the convoy were incinerated and mangled, indicating multiple hits.

The Zionist architect of the ongoing GENOCIDE makes a meaningless statement!

Genocide Joe adds his 2 cents.

Genocide Joe on Tuesday called chef José Andrés to offer his condolences after an Israeli strike killed seven aid workers from his charity group World Central Kitchen, in Gaza.

“He called chef José Andrés to express that he’s heartbroken by this news of the airstrike that killed seven aid workers and to express and share his deepest condolences,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.

He apparently failed to mention the over 32,000 deaths mainly women and children that have been murdered!

She said that Biden conveyed he is grieving their deaths. John Kirby, White House national security communications adviser, confirmed that a dual national American citizen was among the seven killed and said the State Department has conducted initial outreach to that aid worker’s family.

In reference to the "mission accomplished" World Central Kitchen has paused further providing additional food supplies thus allowing the starvation of Palestinians to continue.

AFP News Agency @AFP

US charity World Central Kitchen says it is pausing its Gaza operations after seven of its staff were killed in a "targeted Israeli strike" as they unloaded desperately needed food aid delivered by sea from Cyprus.

The charity says those killed were "from Australia, Poland, United Kingdom, a dual citizen of the US and Canada, and Palestine"

nuclear holocaust to come, I certainly hope that Tel Aviv and Haifa catch a few spare megatons in passing. While we're at it, of course- it simply wouldn't do to make a special launch just for them. It'd be quite sad for the US and Russia to obliterate each other, and leave those godforsaken bastards still standing, to pick up the pieces and have all the Lebensraum they want.

Yes, I'm angry. I do not approve of our government's proxy genocide being carried out in my name. A lot of people need to end up in The Hague, if we should live that long, and BlinkenNulandBiden should be standing in the dock right beside Netanyahoo.

Probably not the answer, but having lived among elderlies a few years, and being one myself now, I know they (we) sometimes suffer dizziness from being dehydrated. At least it’s an easy solution to try.

Me too. I've had some balance issues. Actually, I've always had balance issues but they seem to be slowly getting worse. I'm 73. When I walk down a hallway I look like a drunken sailor trying to find my boat. I was given the bottom of the foot test. The neurologist tickled my foot which did the opposite of what tickled feet are supposed to do. Then a CAT scan from the bottom of the spine to the base of the skull. The discs and the filler in between were all a little crooked. The neurologist then ordered a CAT scan of my head.

I'm still waiting for results. In the meantime if you see me wandering down the street then point me towards my ship.

Thank you so much.

Another thought on dizziness: sometimes a new or increased source of pollution such as carbon monoxide, ozone, subtle chimney or flue leaks, septic tank or sewer aerosols can be setting off central nervous system reactions or affecting balance. Don't ask me how I know....but worth looking at.

We put piping, and systems in the ground then forget about them, and over time the plumes accumulate.

Sometimes commercial or industrial entities locate in an airstream nearby, and you don't even realize your home is being bathed in someone else's exhaust or vapor. The number of times quiet location of waste treatment plants near neighborhoods or shopping centers is astonishing and horrible.

These kinds of pollution are more common than we know or want to believe.

Take care and best luck on resolving your vertige.

your dizziness can be found. I have inner ear problems too, but, luckily, not dizziness - yet. That Epley maneuver sounds like a good thing to try! Take care!
