Open Thread - 09-09-22 - Hellbent for Leather

The terms hell for leather and hell-bent are similar but have different meanings. We will look at the meaning of hell for leather and hell-bent, where the terms come from and examine some examples of their use in sentences.

Hell for leather means as fast as possible. The term was first used in print in 1889 by Rudyard Kipling, specifically referring to riding a horse at breakneck speed. The leather in this case either refers to the leather in the saddle or the leather in the crop.

Hell-bent describes someone who is determined to do something no matter how the effort effects himself or anyone else, at any cost. Hell-bent is an adjective that carries a connotation of recklessness or foolishness, it is an American word that was first used in the early 1800s. Interestingly, a new term is beginning to emerge that combines hell for leather and hell-bent. Hell-bent for leather describes someone who is determined to do something no matter what the cost, and does it in a ferocious manner.

The West sure seems not only hellbent for leather but hellbent for hell as well. Especially Europe. IMHO, the West's wealth is being hovered up at a rapid rate. There are so many things happening at once and it all appears to be aimed at the middle class. The rest of the West is being fleeced as well, but Europe is really in the hotseat.

hellbent1.jpg

Why? Is it the Federal Reserve Banks readying for the changeover to digital currency? Is it the WEF and its plan for Homo Cyborgus? Is it all just happenstance?

Is Putin WEF or is he not? Are Russian and Ukrainian troops being sacrificed to the Schwabean alter of The Great Reset? Or has Putin thumbed his nose at the WEF and is fighting for the security of Russia? Does Russia have its own goal of a new world order? Which is it?

Cutting off energy and fertilizer for crops is proving to be a great catalyst for the huge transfer in wealth that's happening right before our eyes. That seems to indicate that Putin is in bed with the globalist. But why would he sacrifice his military?

Why is Europe committing economic suicide? Is it to bring themselves to their knees so they'll welcome the new overlords? Or is it fear that Putin wont stop with just Ukraine?

If the Russian/Ukraine War is intended to destabilize Europe for the FED and/or WEF vultures, then what's in store for the United States? How will we be taken down?

A lot of folks may claim they know the answers to these questions but do they really know? With the propaganda so thick it's not easy to cut through the fog.

One thing is for sure though, whatever is going on is happening at an accelerated pace, whether it is induced by rapid climate change or good old fashion greed and avarice, whoever or whatever is driving this train is hellbent for leather.

sorry if this seems a bit truncated this morning. I had a full plate yesterday and more of the same today so I didn't have much time to form anything more substantial.

I'll try to be around to host but I can't guarantee anything.

Thanks for reading.

Been busy here with mowing, weed whacking, limb pick up, and a bit of road touch up before the rain. Plan to plant cabbage, broccoli, and collard plants today before the rain hits too. Tomatoes have nearly played out, but still lots of peppers. Seems like we only need to plant peppers every other year because we put up so many in the freezer (chopped and ready to use).

I've always thought of hell bent for leather as going fast as possible with reckless abandon, but I'm no etymologist. Perhaps we are riding in this handbasket hell bent for leather? Sure seems the collective west is bound and determined to crash and crumble.

Well, these are interesting times no matter your perceptions or interpretations. Take care and y'all have a good weekend! Thanks for the OT.

this year, my first attempt in the Texas heat. I learned a lot though.

"Handbasket hell bent for leather" is apropos, but I'd prefer a leather basket below a hot air balloon sailing above the fray. But Klaus needs that gas from the balloon so I guess that would be out of the question. The bastid.

@JtC @JtC Just like my NYC balcony. I watered and watered and did my best but mostly everything
died.

Just the sunflowers survived.

Which was amazing because according to friends of mine, sunflowers died in the fields of France.

I will be much less ambitious next year.

Way fewer plants and everything easy enough to bring inside out of the heat if necessary.

riding off so fast toward a cliff,

I've never bought any part of the Putin is the target rationale, but who the fuck really knows?

Collective insanity is a plausible explanation, but nobody in touch with Planet Earth can seriously believe that "we" can depose the ruler of a nuclear power with badmouthing and refusing to buy stuff that we really need to keep our society afloat.

The easiest part of the puzzle is to imagine powerful personalities believing that the incumbent global order needs to die. I agree with that while having very different ideas about what should come next.

The final Chapter will be a real page turner.

that said powerful personalities would rather that the status quo remain the same since it's been such a great gig for them. But they fucked it up and the Great Reset was dreamed up to reset the economic hell they've unleashed, keeping them in power to do it all over again. And an extra added bonus is keeping their heads from pikes and gallows. Oh, and I can't forget, a perfect opportunity to stop so many worthless eaters from breathing their air.

Thanks fire.

future unless our present reality becomes utterly unbearable. As in complete economic and societal collapse. Then we get to try out some new way of life, at least those of us who have made it that far.

Once that happens the population can begin to be reduced in earnest, without having to disguise it as incompetent health care, mysterious pandemics with their fatally flawed vaccines, and the death and destruction of perpetual asset stripping wars that the uber-wealthy find so profitable.

All viable climate change solutions must necessarily include a major reduction in the current human population. The planets resources are finite and already in decline. It’s that simple.

Any solution to that problem will be anything but simple, and likely quite unpleasant.

A look at the players in the biggest wealth transfer in history and how the great reset and the plandemic was planned out long before the human created Rona virus was released from the Wuhan lab. Over a year ago Biden warned us about the upcoming food shortages and lo and behold lots of food plants have been destroyed through various ways. Just like all of a sudden states are seeing problems with their water supplies and lots of other disasters have been happening one after another. But I’m sure that it’s all just conspiracy theory to connect the dots to the great reset where we will own nothing and be gawd damn happy about it.

I’m still not sure what the globalist's plan is that every person has to take the mRNA jabs even though they have admitted that they don’t stop you from getting infected or transmitting the virus. Unless it truly is as nefarious and evil as some thinks it is. Lots of countries are moving forward with vaccine passports and electronic money and even some countries are chipping people.

Lots of people are trying to understand just what exactly is happening and for now some seem quite out there…but? We still have a chance to derail what they are doing, but the time to do is getting shorter. Biden says that if anyone wants to fight the government they will need to have jets. The people who took on the British government way back when weren’t a military match for the British troops and yet they succeeded. I don’t think a violent response is the point to start because I think they want us to do that. But a general strike involving millions of people worldwide might get their attention.

Good topic JtC. Hopefully we will talk more about this and see if we can figure out just what the hell the parasite class means to do to us.

France jumped at the chance to tweak the British lion's nose (but paid dearly for it in the long run). Spain and, so we now hear, Russia helped out a bit too.

But the one bit of outside assistance that changed the Continental Army from a "rabble in arms" to a disciplined and orderly military was one Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, a Prussian volunteer. His earlier history isn't all that clear, possibly including working his way up from enlisted (non-officer) status. But if he hadn't ever been a drill sergeant, he certainly knew how to go about being one and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. This happened to be exactly what Washington's troops needed at the time.

Most significantly, he served in the Prussian army during its prolonged heyday, including the 7 Years' War. He eventually served as Frederick The Great's Aide-de-Camp for a while, which is like learning math and physics while being Einstein's personal secretary.

Hi JtC, hi all. It's been too long an absence for me, I missed you all terribly.

Today is my first time logging in since the end of June, I think? Not sure. Anyway, I am living with cancer now. Multiple myeloma. For ten weeks I was at UCSF Medical, getting radiation therapy, chemo (immuno) therapy, and a major back surgery. I am hoping for remission so I can live a few more years, maybe six. That's all. The other option was 6 months to 1 year in hospice but I was not ready to give up and die just yet.

I answered a PM from Janis B with the long story how things played out, now I'm already too tired to type much more today. I just really wanted to say "hi" and thank you all for being here. Cheers.

I'm so glad you made it through that hell and hope it was a success. From what little I know of multiple myeloma, the treatments have recently improved significantly, and are hoped to improve even more shortly (?).
