A new Gallup poll finds that Americans’ opinion of Russia and China have plummeted to historic lows this year, with 79 percent of the population now reporting an unfavorable view of China and 77 percent reporting an unfavorable view of Russia.

The hate predictably falls along partisan lines, with Republicans showing more disfavor toward China and Democrats reserving more of theirs for Russia, but there is plenty of overlap. China is only seen positively by 10 percent of Republicans compared to 27 percent of Democrats, while only sixteen percent of Dem voters view Russia in a positive light compared to 25 percent of Republicans. Unfavorable opinions of both nations dominate across the board no matter how you slice it.In a recent Mintpress News article titled “After Years of Propaganda, American Views of Russia and China Hit Historic Lows”, Alan MacLeod points the finger at the obvious culprit in this shift in public opinion:

Last year, American military planners advised that the U.S. should step up its campaign of psychological warfare against Beijing, including sponsoring authors and artists to create anti-China propaganda. The Pentagon’s budget request for 2021 makes clear that the United States is retooling for a potential intercontinental war with China or Russia. It asks for $705 billion to “shift focus from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and a greater emphasis on the types of weapons that could be used to confront nuclear giants like Russia and China,” noting that it requires “more advanced high-end weapon systems, which provide increased standoff, enhanced lethality and autonomous targeting for employment against near-peer threats in a more contested environment.”

Russia, meanwhile, has been the focus of Democratic Party ire since their defeat in the 2016 election. Prominent Democrats have accused Vladimir Putin of being behind the rise of Bernie Sanders, paying Afghans to kill American soldiers, and of helping spark the January 6 insurrection on the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. RussiaGate — the belief that Moscow managed to hack the 2016 election, swinging the result for Trump — has hardened liberal attitudes towards the country and drastically increased suspicion and fear of Russians. This was crystallized by former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper’s comments on NBC’s Meet The Press, where he claimed that Russians are “typically, almost genetically driven to co-opt, penetrate, gain favor.” As with China, the U.S. government has attempted to score diplomatic points, taking up the case of imprisoned politician Alexey Navalny.

There is more at the link and I wonder how long it will be before she banned for truth telling?

Quoting verbatim what a paid hack (Jake Sullivan, President Biden’s national security adviser) says.

WASHINGTON — Just as it plans to begin retaliating against Russia for the large-scale hacking of American government agencies and corporations discovered late last year, the Biden administration faces a new cyberattack that raises the question of whether it will have to strike back at another major adversary: China.

Taken together, the responses will start to define how President Biden fashions his new administration’s response to escalating cyberconflict and whether he can find a way to impose a steeper penalty on rivals who regularly exploit vulnerabilities in government and corporate defenses to spy, steal information and potentially damage critical components of the nation’s infrastructure.

The first major move is expected over the next three weeks, officials said, with a series of clandestine actions across Russian networks that are intended to be evident to President Vladimir V. Putin and his intelligence services and military but not to the wider world.

The officials said the actions would be combined with some kind of economic sanctions — though there are few truly effective sanctions left to impose — and an executive order from Mr. Biden to accelerate the hardening of federal government networks after the Russian hacking, which went undetected for months until it was discovered by a private cybersecurity firm.

#metoo’d out of existence. Women do have serious problems with sexual harassment and assault, but punishment is meted out in a very haphazard manner. I can’t help but wonder what is really going on behind the scenes with Cuomo. We may never know whose cornflakes he defiled.

@Lily O Lady @Lily O Lady @Lily O Lady of the efforts in NYC against Cuomo which began in an obvious way in 2017.

This isn't some fluke.

In 2017 NYC Progressives began a concerted effort to wrest control away from King Cuomo II.

That plan didn't include "me-too" except as it was aimed at the overpowering force and bullying with which Cuomo ran our City and NY State. And associated criminal activities. 9, yes 9! of his closest cronies are incarcerated, beating the more famous mobster Donald Trump, by 2.

I will spare you the details of our struggle to rid ourselves of the Bully by mentioning just a few of the landmark events.

First AOC beat Joe Crowley . Not only a powerful DC congressional leader in line for Pelosi's gig, but the undisputed Boss of the NYC Queens (D) Party and with his crony, Marcus Crespo, Boss of the Bronx (D) party ruled these 2 counties with Iron Fists. They are both G-O-N-E. All the County (D) parties are greatly diminished or gone.

Meanwhile, the NY State Senate ran Primaries against the IDC, rogue democrats who voted with Cuomo and the GOP caucus. 7 out of 8 were beaten, retired, and the remaining Senator is from Staten Island and an excellent legislator who votes with her constituents.

That gave us Majorities in 2018. In the 2020 election we grew our majorities into Super Majorities---Veto-proof. In both chambers. State Senate and State Assembly. That was the plan.

In 2017 Cynthia Nixon lost to Cuomo but won 500,000+ votes, More than Cuomo and his opponent in 2013 had gotten before. Cynthia's ability to get out Progressive votes was also the plan.

Yesterday Cuomo signed a Bill taking away some of his power. Not to mention that a fuss is being made about the corruption and shoddy work on a bridge he rebuilt and named after the Better Cuomo, his dad, Mario.

The knives have been out for Cuomo for a long time and this parade of women are another nail in the long built coffin.

Perhaps you've heard of the Nursing Home Deaths?

IMHO, I don't expect Cuomo to resign anytime soon. (Think Ttump) He may not run for re-election next year.

I hope I am wrong. And he is gone as abruptly as Crowley was.

deaths. His imperial COVID press conferences seemed to be a ploy to line himself up for the presidency. In light of those press conferences, his suppression of deaths in nursing homes seems especially egregious.

When Biden went to Texas I heard something on the news about him hugging a little girl who had treated him. There was no more mention of it since, but at the time I thought, “Oh, terrific!” Some can pinch and squeeze and skate while others can’t. Until we apply the rules evenly, I’d rather that crooks be punished for their other illegal activities.

Otherwise I think it cheapens the #metoo movement and women’s complaints of harassment and assault. We have Supreme Court justices who have credibly been accused. Will using sexual harassment against Cuomo help the cause of women? I’m afraid that it won’t. I could be wrong, but I experienced sexual harassment as a young woman. I’ve endured mansplaining throughout my life. I want women to be able to interact in safety and with respect. I’m not sure this approach will help.

I hope Cuomo can be kicked to the curb. He’s a corporate shill and NY and the country would be better off without him.

I admit I don't know why staunch establishment Dems like Cuomo and Weinstein get taken down. I'm assuming that those on the right who hate the Clintons can use #MeToo as much as the Clinton machine can, and that's why.

That is not to say that those men did not hurt women, nor that #MeToo never manages to act against actual predators. There are sincere people within #MeToo just as there were sincere (if misguided) people within the Tea Party. But overall, like the Tea Party, this is a massive ongoing coordinated media campaign, which I bet had its real start in a political consulting firm somewhere--or in Langley. For the most part, the motivating force of the movement is not justice, but expediency.

I'll never forget the Tweet that said "Let's do Bernie Sanders next! All we have to do is get a few of us to tell stories..."

I should have taken a screen shot of it.

...that folks at c99 embraced the China hate psyop. Everyone immediately believed that the Chinese were running a genocide against the Uyghurs, with prison camps and forced abortions. No skepticism, no questions. Total surrender to "the Lies of the Century," told by the same leaders who had always lied to them. No cognizant conflict here, as far as I can see.

It's okay if you believe those lies about China — that China withheld data about Covid-19 (a Trump lie; didn't happen), that the Corona virus was a Wuhan bio-lab leak (that didn't happen. In fact, the physical evidence shows that Covid-19 didn't even start in Wuhan. Or in China.) If you are still working through all of this, take your time. Better yet, if you like your prejudice, you can keep your prejudice. Very low info Americans are convinced that China stole their jobs and their technology, aka: IP. (This didn't happen, either.) For at least twenty years China has been significantly more advanced than the US, technologically. What did China steal? China simply has a structural advantage over the US. With a strong and wealthy central government that has a mandate to directly benefit the People, China can take on massive projects, they can maintain huge visions about a better future for humankind, they can achieve astonishing goals of practical good.

The US surrendered the advantage of the visionary. Neoliberal privatization of the Federal government's services to the People and its fiduciary obligations to the People, were handed over to the corporations to complete "efficiently" — and to exploit the accompanying government budget for shareholder profits. And exploit they did. Corporations have corrupted, neglected, and degraded — with partisan viciousness — nearly every government service that they have touched. The People are the big losers here, and the Nation slides further into systemic decay as Public assets are siphoned off by the big-ticket Industries in the US war and medicine. It is the recipe for a failed state.

China has another massive advantage. A few years ago, China entered the quantum age by building the fastest computers in the world. Instantly, China's harnessed the power of quantum computing, bringing the technology to every university. In one hour of computing, the Chinese can accomplish tasks that it would require a thousand hours of conventional computing. In their first year with quantum computing, China leapt decades ahead of the US in some very important technologies. Artificial Intelligence is one such space — but it is far from the most important advancement. The conceptual spaces that the Chinese occupy do not even exist on Darpa's map, yet.

Do you know how China achieved quantum computing so quickly? Let me tell you. In the inner hallways of the State Department, you'll find rows and rows of foreign policy spooks and national security advisors hanging upside down from the ceiling rafters. This is where they dream up evil plots to extort or coerce frienemy nations to bend to the yoke of US hegemony. It was one of these hanging "things" in 2015 who determined that China's success assembling electronics was a national security threat to the United States. The President was urged by the largely Neocon Security Council to block China's purchases of Intel chips, which China was using to build more powerful-computers for use in development environments and at universities. It was also acknowledged that this restriction would damage Chinese economic growth, which was considered to be a good thing.

China was shocked — for about 45 seconds. Then China immediately notified all of its scientists and academics that they must design the most advanced chip the world has ever seen, without delay. (China had no chip industry, at the time.) Starting from scratch, China met that challenge. They built the world's fastest Super Computer, and began a quantum computing standard. Donald Trump continued the chip war against China threatening chip makers throughout the world with suctions if they sold an advanced chip to China. So, China expanded its domestic chip making industry. The consequences of this anti-China race war is visible today: There is a world-wide chip shortage crippling some of the world's largest industries.

China Revs Up Grand Chip Ambitions to Counter U.S. Blacklistings

Meanwhile, Americans appear to be completely defenseless against the daily gaslighting of China-hate they are now receiving. Even after three solid years of training during the Mueller psyop, and after feasting at the banquet of government lies about the Russia Hoax that were exposed on a daily basis — Americans have formed no antibodies to this pattern of deceit and subversion.

Some of the world's best independent investigative journalists — including several in the US — have very quietly done all the work entailed in dissecting the China psyop. They tracked the lies and the phantasmagoric narrative of the US government and its apostle allies all the way back to one single coordinating source, funded by one single department of government. But very, very quietly. Speaking the truth is now a deadly game.

It is not entirely clear anymore what purpose "exposing the truth" would serve. Under the China bate scenario, American minds were seized with breathtaking speed. Just as rapidly, the US public was tilted into the reservoir of "War Footing," which will transfer control of the nation's remaining asset wealth into the hands of the Ruling Elite. The American People have been prepped as cheerleaders for World War III against the Communist Menace. The People are psyched to kill and destroy and get revenge against China. They know in their hears they must permanently cripple China, economically, They must vaporize China's natural wonders, turn its great infrastructure into rubble, and send China back to a Stone Age from which it can never compete with the US again.

At this philosophical scale, truth is inconsequential. It no longer serves a moral or intellectual purpose in US minds, and it will surely destroy the lives of those who speak it.

This is my view of the situation.

I think just about all of us work on this assumption: Large, powerful countries are pretty much the same. The US, China, Russia are all too big and run by crooks. Smaller countries don't have some of the luxuries (some do, though) and are more people oriented.

Any criticism or praise of a large country is true of other large countries. China or Russia is no worse (or no better) than the US. I do tend to believe that Sweden, Holland and New Zealand are better but only because I know people who live there and tell me so.

The folks here were magnificent about picking up on the Russian Hoax, and speaking out against it. They were able to recognize most of the false flag chemical weapons attacks in Syria, and were able to analyze the strange poisoning of the Skripals in the UK to defame Russia. (It was shoddy and flawed, and I would have expected no less from c99ers.) Across hundreds of essays discussing the forensics of the hoaxes, they were well-informed and confident — even with the technical forensics from the VIPS based on the NSA protocols.

All of the Mueller activities were an exercise in political noise, and I certainly did not expect to see opinions voiced here — one way or the other. It was a shameful cover-up — clumsy, ineffective, and incomplete — and managed to display more institutional corruption than it was able to obscure or omit. The c99 folks kept their eye on the ball and during this time they contemplated the shabby and morally bankrupt political processes that were exposed. They were working at the meta level throughout. Looking back, there was almost no content produced during the investigation. And certainly no credible evidence pertaining to "collusion" with Russia.

By contrast, I have not seen any defense or even mention of the smearing of China and the heinous lies being told, particularly in reference to the "Uyghur genocide." There seems to be not end to the incendiary misinformation pouring out of the mouths of the same corrupt politicians and media assets who have been actively betraying us for years and years.

The tone is one of contemp toward China and the determined silence about the horrible accusations made against it — are palpable. The truth is discoverable. There is little curiosity, however.

No mention of the shocking injustice of it all, the treachery of the economic assaults heaped upon China, the rude disrespect and hateful rhetoric directed toward China, without real evidence of actual wrongdoing. What we can prove is actually the opposite, in fact. great good has been done for the Uyghurs by the People of China.

In retrospect, it is just as well that nothing positive was expressed about China here — because that is a dangerous topic. The social push to promote visceral hatred toward China is intense. People who defend China or question the accusations against it, face swift and harsh punishments on the corporate-owned Internet. In the past century, have Americans faced personally-threatening censorship based on what they say and what they think? Is this something new?

I think a lot of us have been taught not to talk about such things through the adverse reactions of our near and dear when we do talk about them. It gets exhausting to push back all the time. I basically assume that what gets circulated through the corporate press is far more likely to be lies than truth, especially where justifications (or potential justifications) for war are concerned. What I don't get is why so many people who easily dismissed this sort of shit in the eighties, nineties, and under the two Bush administrations, now act like the Fortunate Son:

two people, actually, among the three I love best, accept it wholeheartedly.

I don't know why people are so easily swayed into hatred of the rival empires, who I assume do actually do plenty of evil, because they ARE empires, but that doesn't mean that I trust what the empire I'm living in says about them.

Personally, I have xenophobia fatigue, and for the most part, don't participate in discussions of whether Eastasia or Eurasia are coming to get us, the nefarious bastards. Not anymore. The bastards who run this empire have killed more Americans than the bastards overseas ever will--at least until we have a nuclear war. And even if we do, I lay more than half the blame for it at the local bastards' feet, since they seem really eager to have one. Not willing to wait for the climate to cull the herd, I guess:

Dore has an obnoxious interlocutor who almost deliberately seems to not be getting it, but there's some spectacular footage of the speech that made it impossible for me to vote for Clinton at the 4:30 time stamp:

"The United States will treat cyberattacks just like any other attack."

In other words, espionage will now be treated the same as an attack on our cities.

How many different things can a nuclear arsenal "be prepared" to do?

This is my first comment on caucus99percent.com so bear with me if this topic has been answered elsewhere… I'd like to echo the sentiment of the earlier comment asking about any high quality, no bs links/content that'll lay bare the Uighur Genocide narrative. Like most I don't know much about Uighurs except that it's a complex subject..!

Salafist extremists (Uighurs) stepped up the terroristing in the Xinjiang region in the 2000s. How different is Xi Jinping's "China comes first" to Macron's "Values of the Republic come first" anti-Islam escalation?

China's crackdown on Hong Kong and the brutal scale of Xi's mafia-style governance lends credibility to an 'educate (beat) the Prophet out of those Turkish terrorists' edict from Beijing having been implented as a million Uighurs in Chinese military-run concentration camps.

But is that a false flag? I don't know. Does anyone has any suggestions where to dig deeper?
