good morning
Just a quick hello. Trying to spread manure before the rain arrives. Y'all have a good one!
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
Happy trails. el, wherever you roam;
morning everyone, light rain greets the morning, Monday, Monday 'earworms' in the head, off to the Y, work out, and see Mom.
The volcano disaster apparently could have been avoided, but we've a problem taking good scientist's advice, don't we?
My Vincent room looks like a trash heap in Mumbai, perhaps the afternoon can be used to clean up, a little, saving tomorrow for laundry day.
Best news is i miss the grating accents of congresscritters screaming into microphones such stupidity as to make gentle dogs growl.
Have a good one out there.
Mange tusen takk for the Lutefisk notification!
In the early days when mom would buy it, the lutefisk was stiff as a board. She had to soak the lye out of it.
Lutefisk . . . Yum!!!

A little piece
of The Snayl by Richard Lovelace
It appears that Lovelace observed some little critters carefully and there is an element of respect and awe in this poem. On second thought, here is the whole poem for all the nature-lovers here:
Wise emblem of our politic world,
Sage snail, within thine own self curl’d;
Instruct me softly to make haste,
Whilst these my feet go slowly fast.
Compendious snail! thou seem’st to me,
Large Euclid’s strict epitome;
And in each diagram dost fling
Thee from the point unto the ring;
A figure now triangular,
An oval now, and now a square;
And then a serpentine dost crawl,
Now a straight line, now crook’d, now all.
Preventing rival of the day,
Th’art up and openest thy ray,
And ere the morn cradles the moon
Th’art broke into a beauteous noon.
Then when the sun sups in the deep,
Thy silver horns ere Cynthia’s peep;
And thou from thine own liquid bed
New Phoebus heav’st thy pleasant head.
Who shall a name for thee create,
Deep riddle of mysterious state?
Bold Nature that gives common birth
To all products of seas and earth,
Of thee, as earthquakes, is afraid,
Nor will thy dire deliv’ry aid.
Thou thine own daughter then, and sire,
That son and mother art entire,
That big still with thy self dost go,
And liv’st an aged embryo;
That like the cubs of India,
Thou from thyself a while dost play;
But frighted with a dog or gun,
In thine own belly thou dost run,
And as thy house was thine own womb,
So thine own womb concludes thy tomb.
But now I must (analyz’d king)
Thy economic virtues sing;
Thou great stay’d husband still within,
Thou, thee, that’s thine dost discipline;
And when thou art to progress bent,
Thou mov’st thy self and tenement,
As warlike Scythians travell’d, you
Remove your men and city too;
Then after a sad dearth and rain,
Thou scatterest thy silver train;
And when the trees grow nak’d and old,
Thou clothest them with cloth of gold,
Which from thy bowels thou dost spin,
And draw from the rich mines within.
Now hast thou chang’d thee saint; and made
Thy self a fane that’s cupola’d;
And in thy wreathed cloister thou
Walkest thine own grey friar too;
Strict, and lock’d up, th’art hood all o’er,
And ne’er eliminat’st thy door.
On salads thou dost feed severe,
And ’stead of beads thou dropp’st a tear;
And when to rest, each calls the bell,
Thou sleep’st within thy marble cell,
Where in dark contemplation plac’d,
The sweets of nature thou dost taste;
Who now with time thy days resolve,
And in a jelly thee dissolve,
Like a shot star, which doth repair
Upward, and rarify the air.
I do love snails

I agree,
Buenos morning todos ...
How can you not love this woman ?

We wanted decent healthcare, a living wage and free college.
The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.
I love that video.
Thanks for posting it! Go Tulsi!

Breaking: We were lied to about Afghanistan
Shocking I know. Another Utah soldier died in Afghanistan last month. Why? We know that they are not fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here. Nor are they fighting for our freedoms. How anyone can believe that is ..... well it just is. The patriot act and the 2012 NDAA stripped us of them as have the Spying industrial complex. States are selling their DMV info. Google has millions of people's medical records, the list goes on for how we are not a free people. Just a hint of rebellion and the PTB will release the police state.
SO why are we there? Money. Back in 2005 an oil ex testified to congress about how when the conditions are safe enough he will be able to get his extraction business up and running. Safe from whom? Probably the people who live there and don't want their resources taken.
The anti war movement died under Obama. Gee... what a surprise. The guy who we thought we were electing to stop the wars expanded every one of them and then some. Anyone think that the MSM is going to cover this? Yeah me neither.
Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.
Here's the recipe for lutefisk
for those so inclined:
When eating lutefisk it's traditional to sing this song:
Lutefisk, O Lutefisk (to the tune of O Tannenbaum)
Lutefisk, O Lutefisk, how fragrant your aroma,
Lutefisk, O Lutefisk, you put me in a coma.
You smell so strong, you look like glue,
You taste just like an overshoe,
But lutefisk, come Saturday,
I tink I eat you anyvay
Lutefisk, O lutefisk, I put you in the doorvay.
I wanted you to ripen up just like they do in Norvay.
A dog came by and sprinkled you.
I hit him with my overshoe.
O lutefisk, now I suppose
I'll eat you while I hold my nose.
Lutefisk, O lutefisk, how well I do remember.
On Christmas Eve how we'd receive our big treat of December.
It wasn't turkey or fried ham.
It wasn't even pickled Spam.
My mother knew there was no risk
In serving buttered lutefisk.
Lutefisk, O lutefisk, now everyone discovers
That lutefisk and lefse make Norvegians better lovers.
Now all the world can have a ball.
You're better than that Geritol.
O lutefisk, with brennevin [Norwegian brandy]
You make me feel like Errol Flynn.
Lutefisk, O lutefisk, you have a special flavor.
Lutefisk, O lutefisk, all good Norvegians savor.
That slimy slab we know so well
Identified by ghastly smell.
Lutefisk, O lutefisk,
Our loyalty won't waver.
The great thing about eating
the board, it comes with it's own toothpicks.
Sell a bit fishy tho.
Good morning, el ~~
So sorry, but lutefisk does not sound appetizing, then again, I wasn't exposed to it ever.
Have a happy week, everyone!

Inventors and technology gave us audio, then video, but
still no “smell-o-rama” / tele-olfaction. For which I suppose we can be thankful. No lutefisk commercials.
Imagine your living room smelling like whatever funky aroma some random ad agency or anonymous Amazon tech team decided to flood it with? Let alone political manipulators invading one’s private space with specially crafted emotion-triggering pheremones tailored to one’s personal Google and Facebook profile.
Instead of your cat curling up on top of the computer keyboard, you’d have to pry your dog away from the nasal sense stimulator / the scent streaming output port.
Great tunes EL!
Bunch of great tunes... Dennis Dunaway was a monster of a bass player. Neil Innes was hilariously creative. Dan Hicks was awesome too.
thanks!
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
