of "Hawaii and its people, the land of rainbow and palms", but my avatar is quite nice too, rainbow colors, waves, dreams through the pipe towards a palm tree. Stole it from an Hawaiian newspaper.

Have a beautiful Hawaiian dream. Their rainbows bent towards beauty. What more can you ask for.

@mimi
those reading this on Facebook. There's a widget to load them into when you create a post and then it's all out of my hands. I don't Facebook, so I never see them after finding and loading them either. I get most of them lately from the internet archive, so if you are really desperate to see them, you could probably search it using that wording. The art.picture/whatever section is up on flickr too, and that's where I access it.

Beyond that, I love your avatar. A splash of brightness and color plus, at this resolution, sans glasses, it looks abstract and pseudo-random.

This tube recording cracked me up, because Todd forgets the words and has to start over. It was during his "Interactive" phase in the 90s, those shows were fun as hell I danced my ass off. Happy Monday! Biggrin

Workers of the world, UNITE! please?
German industrial workers poised to launch massive strikes

Germany’s most important industrial sector, the metal and electronics industry, is on the brink of a major expansion of strike action. With 960,000 workers having participated in brief warning strikes and protests over the past two weeks, the IG Metall trade union has announced one-day strikes at 250 plants between Wednesday and Friday this week.
[...]
Get in contact with the Sozialistische Gleichheitspartei (Socialist Equality Party) and the World Socialist Web Site, which will support you in this struggle. The SGP calls for an expansion of the strike movement and for it to be made the prelude to a political mobilisation for new elections. The SPD and the conservative parties, in league with the trade unions, cannot be permitted to put their reactionary plans into practice.

The SGP is the only party calling for new elections and fighting in the working class for a programme that combines the fight against war and exploitation with the fight for a socialist society..

The German strike movement advert is interesting in that it advocates warding off the nefarious plans of the Unions allegedly working hand in hand with the political reactionaries to institute ?? One cannot help but wonder what that's all aboout and to free associatively think of the recent disclosure here concerning the bribing of Union Management by corporate assholes.

It is road trimming day here. We use propane gas and the truck driver complained about my road growing in and scratching his truck. He is right- so hi ho hi ho it is off to the road I go...with saw and loppers in hand. There's always something to do around the homestead!

So I'm sorry eyo I've got a job dis-uniting limbs from trees (although I like the link on German workers uniting).

Y'all have a good one!

@Lookout
but only in Kansas. Cue the Wiki:

Kansas Day is a holiday in the state of Kansas in the United States. It is celebrated annually on January 29 to commemorate the anniversary of the 1861 admission of Kansas into the Union.

Celebrations involve corn, red shoes & tornadoes.

Hey, speaking of Tornados

Enjoy your sawing and lopping.

Your presence made me suddenly wish I was in Yuma right now, or, actually, a bit upriver camped at that county park on the Colorado just outside of Blythe.

@enhydra lutris
but I know it's hot there in the summer. We love Yuma. When I was younger I used to drive straight through from here to L.A., eight hours more or less. I don't do that anymore. Yuma is about the midpoint so we break the drive up and stay a night at the Historic Coronado Motor Hotel. There's a good Mexican restaurant across the street. It's run by a family from Guadalajara so they have my favorite Mexican dish, Carne en su Jugo.

I rode my bike to the store the other day, woo strong! For those following along, after I made that hamburger helper thingy, I went back for more beef and made a pot of stroganoff but it flopped. Ick, grass fed beef is an acquired taste I forgot I didn't like. And Eddie Murphy fell out of the lint trap again, this time it was Beverly Hills Cop I think? The part where one of 'em says it takes three years to digest beef or something like that, I didn't look it up.

Yesterday I had a big bowl of red beans and rice, and wow it was good. Still craving garbage meat, or some kind of fat maybe, not sure. I went back and got pork sausage, celery, garlic, and made a concoction that reeks of holy heaven and tastes pretty good too. I've gained two pounds since crashing, and y'all talked me through. thanks Smile

I also added a quart of cow milk back in to the mix, in my tea and coffee, to satisfy a crave. Meat and dairy are not exactly my idea of a healthy diet, I am just going with my guts. Feels better, so what? I don't know. My leg cramps have almost disappeared for the first time in months, doing daily calf stretches and minding the diet.

thanks

@riverlover thanks I've done it and it is true I think about soaking up minerals through the skin. I use epsom salts to clean my bong too, 'cause they don't dissolve in alcohol the abrasive crystals scrub the sludge when shaken. lol dessert topping or floor wax? lol

In fact my neighbor gifted me a fancy bottle of Pure Magnesium Oil "from the ancient zechstein seabed", I spray it on and leave it for twenty minutes, thought it helped me a lot last summer. There's a limit to how much water I can use so I rarely take baths, just short showers or even "navy" showers is plenty compared to living in a tent. I'm not complaining.

I order cases of T.P. online since selling my car, bulk is cheaper too. Becoming poor has really opened my eyes, I cannot stop remembering "looters" on the TV machine, inevitably someone has armfuls of T.P. and water as they escape the cops. Criminals for wanting to stay alive and wipe their asses. sheesh I hope it never happens to anyone else. good luck

@eyo It's a tradition in new orleans and environs. something about doing the laundry on sunday and cookin down the beans. remembering the hot plates served in the joints around the street car line. big dollop of red beans on white rice, a little sausage and couple of crunchy slices of french bread, all in a styrofoam sectional covered takie outtie for about $3.00. Good times.

iirc. They toss in just a little shredded chicken, maybe a little onion, etc. I like to cook up a little for breakfast, beans, rice, just a little stock and crack an egg into it, then stir it into a porridge.

My employee understands most of the Russian ads, etc... came before the election, and I understand they came afterwards.
Can anyone please steer me to the best info out there to resolve our misunderstandings?
Much appreciated. I am covered up with clients in the office!

HTH
https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2017/10/02/facebook-hire-1-000-monitor-ads-after-russia-election-meddling/723507001/

SAN FRANCISCO — Facebook says 10 million people saw Russia-linked advertising that sought to sway the U.S. presidential election.

Forty-four percent of the ads were seen before the election, the rest after the election. About 25% of the ads were never shown to anyone, according to Facebook.

The revelations come as the Silicon Valley company faces a sharp backlash for accepting ads from Russian interests seeking to meddle with the election.

@on the cusp and I feel sorry your employee watches Rachel. Y'all must have interesting talks on current events. Anyway, I did not dig up the original testimony but thought their choice of words very interesting. Seen versus unseen. I wonder how many ads were purchased, how much profit did Facebook take? Page views are one thing, ad buys are something else. That's all. cheers
