Trump's healthcare bill is going down in flames
I just read that Paul Ryan went to the White House to tell President Grump they don't have the votes. Trump's long-promised "beautiful" alternative to repeal and replace the ACA is apparently DOA. I'm not surprised. Their promises were obviously lies and bluster all along. Still, it's enjoyable to see them fail so spectacularly.
It's really unfortunate that our government is too dysfunctional to pass useful legislation to improve the situation, because it does need fixing in the worst way. We need universal healthcare in this country. I don't know if this flop gets us any closer to a real solution someday. I hope so, but am certainly not expecting anything like that to happen in my lifetime.
Seeing "the great negotiator" completely fail at his first effort, top priority, and big -- no, YUGE, promise made to his voters is a small bright spot in my day. Heckofajob, Trump! He's already got his blame plan in place of course. Because that's what matters to Hair Trump. Not passing good legislation or helping anyone, which he couldn't care less about. "Who knew healthcare was so complicated?" he recently asked. Well, everyone except you, Donny. What a moran.
Anyway, anyone who was worried about them rolling back Medicaid should be able to breath a little bit easier today. A small ray of light in these dark times.
