You might think that because numerous governments and the media are ignoring the severity of our climate crisis, that people around the world would also be ignorant of the looming catastrophe for human life on this planet. However, you would be wrong about that. The realization that no one is willing to take the measures necessary to, at best. ameliorate the coming collapse of human civilization has resulted in many people suffering severe anxiety and depression, and fueling a mental health crisis that will only get worse.
I confess to being blindsided by the wholesale exuberance with which the Republicans have embraced killing off wide swaths of the undeserving electorate, unencumbered by even ritualistic expressions of regret for the carnage they hope to legislate with their healthcare “reform”. I suppose It must be exhilarating for them to throw off the weight of the pretense of humanity they have shouldered while living and moving among us these last few decades.
I just read that Paul Ryan went to the White House to tell President Grump they don't have the votes. Trump's long-promised "beautiful" alternative to repeal and replace the ACA is apparently DOA. I'm not surprised. Their promises were obviously lies and bluster all along. Still, it's enjoyable to see them fail so spectacularly.
The healthcare bill presented by the Republicans, AHCP, is a monstrosity. The facts in this article by the AARP should be enough to make it DOA:
Medication misadventures, a quaint term. Sounds like one is going on a trip with a few unexpected twists and turns, resulting in an entertaining story. Reality is a little harsher. In 1995 the economic cost of medication misadventures was quantified at $76.5 billion annually.
The US is the only major country on this planet that does not view Healthcare as a human right for citizen survival. The ACA is a complete joke on US citizens. (We are not fucking consumers, we are citizens, asshole!) The idea of “affordable” healthcare through over priced health insurance, is nothing short of a bad fucking joke. The linguistic gymnastics has got to stop.

Well, I'm sure many people would have a lot of input on that question, but I'll limit mine to analyzing her policy stances from her website. The first of which on my radar is healthcare.
