Still and forever a Democrat

I understand some of the rhetoric. I've been there. Heck, I'll be 68 in 22 days. How could I not have been where you feel you are now.

When I was 18, I was a McCarthy supporter, but was deemed too young to vote. One might think that would be enough to put me off the whole concept of voting right there.

I backed McGovern in 1972. We know how that worked out.

Woohoo! Honey, I'm HOME! (now if only I had a RL backup one lol!)

In preparation for what I assume will be my imminent smiting by the BanHammer of Democracy® announced by Dear Leader yesterday I created an account here after being linked to it by a Sanderista in a comment. I just got it set up and I already feel like, "Yeah, This place is gonna work out just fine." Smile

I am here to see what this is all about

I have over 900 diaries on Daily Kos, many highly recommended. I came here to stay in touch with comrades who left there recently. As a charter member of DSA I am a strong supporter of Bernie Sanders. Coincidentally we were both at the University of Chicago in the early 1960s and involved in the same causes.

OT for Thrusday 'Super Delegates' and all that Jazz

Good morning you 99%'ers. I've been missing in action here lately as I got sucked into the big suck hole of this election at dkos and on FB. I have gone all partisan or have I? I just can't let go. Why should I have to I'm a human, a citizen, a person who cares about the world I'm living in. Still getting bogged down in total crap is demoralizing. I really can't wrap my feeble mind around why I'm having to do this over and over again.

New Jersey transgender rights bill resurrected

A bill to allow transgender people born in New Jersey to change the sex listed on on their birth certificate without being required to have undergone surgery rises for the third time today.

Though New Jersey has issued changed birth certificates to residents who undergo sex reassignment surgery since the nineteen-eighties, those who do not want or cannot afford surgery have no recourse. A new version of the bill goes to the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee Thursday.
