Building Anew

Open Thread Image.jpg

There are times when a structure is so damaged or rotten, it just isn't worth trying to repair. That's the way I currently view western governments...they promote the globalists agenda, corporate interests, and deep state directives not the needs of their own citizens. These western governments are, to my mind, irreparable. Changing the direction of the ship of state racing to crash on the shore is simply a task fighting too much inertia. Time to jump ship. My approach is to step outside the system and build for yourself, your family and community.

Album of the Week 1-6-24

Afternoon folks!

This week, we've got some great Chicago blues from a compilation album that features mandolinist Johnny Young, guitarist Johnny Shines and harmonica player Big Walter Horton. Following that there's some late 60's blues from Aretha Franklin. Moving on to the blues-rock category, there's a John Mayall double album on which he's joined by Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor and Harvey Mandel. Then there's The Pretty Things self-titled first 1965 album and a Lee Michaels album. After that is a Japanese bootleg of a Bob Marley concert in London (originally broadcast on the BBC) and we finish up with a studio album from Dr. John.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Friday Night Photos New Year Edition

Happy Friday everyone. I hope everybody is doing well. Post any photos, meme's, or music you like.

Happy New Year to all. It's been a so-so start to the new year. On the plus side I've woken up every morning so far, which is a good thing. On the negative side, I'm waking up to the same old shit. Oh well. I'll count my blessings that I'm still waking up. I made my first blood donation of the year on Wednesday. We also had the first rain of the year on Wednesday.

On Tuesday I made my first visit of the year to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Animal wise it was a slow day. Not much activity. At least the Tiger cubs were out. They were active and they'er cute to boot.

Open Thread - 1/5/24 - TGIF Odds and Ends

The holidays came to an abrupt end this week. The baby lawyer came to town to see if he could put the oldster lawyer, that would be me, into a stupor, by dragging out a 90 minute hearing to a 4 hour trial, dazzling the court with cool spiral notebooks, fully indexed, containing exhibits that were useless.

This oldster stayed awake because it was great fun to lodge 100 objections. (One did not get sustained, but I am okay with a good/not perfect record) If I hadn't shut him down, the trial would had taken a week.

I have better things to do with my time.
