OT ~ Welcome to Saturday!

Sit-a-while
on swinging porch
where tin-dippers and
sweet water
in cool touches
meet lips
from hand dug wells.
~ Feargus Cooney, desert of Australia
“It never takes longer than a few minutes, when they get together, for everyone to revert to the state of nature, like a party marooned by a shipwreck. That’s what a family is. Also the storm at sea, the ship, and the unknown shore. And the hats and the whiskey stills that you make out of bamboo and coconuts. And the fire that you light to keep away the beasts.” ~ Michael Chabon
Good morning good people,
“We are little flames poorly sheltered by frail walls against the storm of dissolution and madness, in which we flicker and sometimes almost go out.”
~ Erich Maria Remarque
Challenging the one percent; best to take one castle at a time in stealth when out moneyed politically, the nintey-nine percent may rise and join the fight with a few successes ... or that's how the Scots did it.
Music, we all hear; making whole, and caressing wounds.
Away with son, reaching out to wherever you are.
The porch is yours ...

damn, ignore, just editing (No subject)
Heh, can't fool me, Smiley, I'm on to your tricks. This
comment is clearly DaDa (non)performance art, and Damn good at that. Loving it. Thanks. Have a great one.
That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --
good morning
It is a damp cool one here...another 0.5 inches last night. The newly planted chestnut trees should benefit. Snoopydawg asked the other day "Just how much rain do you get?" I thought it was about 59 inches/year. Just found the records from the other side of the mountain and I was pretty close - it is 60.5 inches

We are classified as a humid subtropical climatic zone. I think that's a fairly accurate description.
Very few vendors at Trade Day this AM and I came home empty handed - as I often do. Not many shoppers either, so didn't get in the usual visits with folks. I guess most people are shopping at Wally world or on Amazon for their deals. Each to their own.
Hope you all have a nice day, and you're all warm and cozy.
“Until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.”
"...the fire you light
to keep away the beasts." That's a phrase that resonates with me. Art and music may help keep away the beasts and possibly even inspire some to be better humans although failure on that count is evident everywhere.
I do like Fanfare For The Common Man and am a big fan of its name.
Hope you are doing well this morning smiley. Thanks for the OT. I have spent the morning (and a very fine morning at that) outside trying to keep up with a very energetic dog who has had limited exercise over the past several days while we were all at work in our various jobs.
Dog is an enigma to me. A while back I read a book called Canine Confidential and the author warned
I don't remember the context, but I think he may have been hinting at all the ways people misunderstand animals based on assumptions they want to make about animalness, or dogness. (Pardon my invented word). This author also said dogs have rich and deep minds and hearts. I try to keep that in mind when he is misbehaving.
Hope you and all the 99ers have a lovely day.
I came
across this last week. I had the opportunity to see Javier Limon in concert with some other very fine musicians but had not known of Buika.
