The Agents Of Darkness, Misinformation and Lies.

Have you noticed how the US government has dealt with whistle-blowers?

Have you noticed the reasons given? They do have one thing in common.

The outrage is not over creative lies and misinformation.

It is for exposing the reality and truth.

After all misinformation and lies are the speciality of our own government when they want to carry out regime change, torture, murder, punitive sanctions and war. The evidence they have often supplied to justify these actions have been downright lies. Initially the retaliation to these lies have been overwhelmingly supported both in congress and the American people at large. Lies have been use to manipulate the majority throughout our history, then our governments pardon themselves from their actions when the lies have been exposed. We are so special.

If our torture program is exposed again it will be because we refused to punish those that decided that torture was acceptable, yet our government says torture is evil, they said the images were too damaging to our own nation to be released. However no justice was forthcoming and in the end we will protect future our state sponsored torturers by our governments own lack of action. Same goes for other War Crimes that our government has committed in our name.

Our regime change philosophy is rarely questioned by respective governments, we create whole theories to justify our actions, when we support terrorist we call them revolutionises/freedom fighters. When the turn on us they once again become terrorists.

Take some of the following recent examples where our government has attempted to interfere via attempting regime change

China 1949 to early 1960s
Albania 1949-53
East Germany 1950s
Iran 1953 *
Guatemala 1954 *

I am sure you can up with our governments righteous reasons [often fabricated] for such actions, whilst at the same time ignoring the body counts. Honduras in 2009 should also be added. However we prop up some of the most brutal and repressive regimes around the world when it suits us.

Once again the Agents of Darkness, Misinformation and Lies are trying to generate global hostilities because someone chose to expose the reality of how we ourselves behave, the scheming of one of our own main political parties to be precise.

This dangerous outrage is not aimed at dirty tricks, lies and misinformation that overthrew our democratic process but the release of information leaked from one of the main two parties campaigns. i.e exposing the truth about the campaign itself.

At no time has the Democratic Party contested the veracity of the documents leaked.

So what we are being told is:

Exposing the truth has undermined our democracy.

If that is correct then we are in deep trouble.

Some partisans accept the lines of their own parties without question or at best tie themselves into knots trying to justify lies just as long it is their own party doing the misinforming.

How about an apology from the Democratic Party for undermining our democratic process if that is in fact what releasing their own documents has done?

Once again we are trying to blame someone else for our own failings by self victimization. We will wrap ourselves in a flag armed with self righteousness to once again impose our will on the world.

Who will be carrying out this new found outrage fuelled imperialism? Donald Trump.

If you really wanted to stop lies and misinformation destroying democracy then the first ports of call would be:

Our own Government.

Our own security departments notably the CIA and the DHS itself.

Our Main Stream Media.

The Military Industrial Complex

The Prison Industrial Complex.

The Oligarchs who in the end chose which policies are enacted and how their media reports on them.

Orwell's 1984 has been used as a design tool - not a warning.

Rather than screaming about external forces - look at our own Agents of Darkness, Misinformation and Lies.

When they claim that democracy is being overthrown by transparency:- then we really are in trouble.

Wake up.

... it may be because the idea that we live in a democracy is itself the lie. Two corrupt parties offer no acceptable choices, and the corruption itself guides and constrains the government's choices so severely that the will of the people is a sick joke.

the loyal opposition The Demorat's took all the prescribed parliamentary remedies 'off the table'. Thanks Nancy and Harry. No checks or balances or separation of powers anymore as they needed our human and civil rights to use as a tool to fight 'the terrist's who are gonna kill yer family'. Neither side is willing to repeal the odious Patriots Act or restore the rule of law. both the R's and D's are complicit and all our electoral politics are nothing but theater. We now are told not to be sanctimonious as the torturer's are patriotic and have a really hard job.

In high school i was lucky enough to take a civics class from an ex-Marine who passed out sheets with list's of political tricks and propaganda , like sword rattling, gerrymandering, yellow press (Remember the Maine) and other political terminology and history from America's checkered political past. So far our government has used every trick in the book to bring us to this state. 'Fake News' and the Russian's did it when we all got to read straight from the horses mouth about the Democratic machine's intent and agenda.

Obama not only did it with his way forward he normalized and made legal the criminality and abuse of power. He also killed off the Democratic parties democratic wing as were all good disaster free market unfettered cappies who must help the 1% win their race to the top. Can't have democracy breaking out anywhere as it impedes the agenda of the rightful owners of the place. War is peace and ignorance is strength.

If you have followed what I have written on DKos, I have a son in the Army. "We don't know where he is", other than Ft. Bragg. He was in the 82nd Airborne, came back after 2 tours to be a jump master. Then they can't find his papers. They know he is still in (the family contacts).

Thru this series of unfortunate events, most likely he would be one of the first to go in..

This is the theory I favor, today at least. Neocons and war profiteers are aghast at the idea that Trump might pursue a rapprochement with Putin's Russia. Think of the opportunity cost in profits and overseas meddling! He must be stopped, and what better way than to pretend Trump is Putin's Manchurian candidate?

they wanted out of Hillary. They appear not to be sure that Trump will give them that war, so they're pulling out plan B--make him the reason for it instead of the instigator.

Why the fuck they want a war with Russia so quickly is beyond me. They appear even to be toying with the idea of nuclear war. Which is insane.

We can counteract our growing global warming with some of that nuclear winter. Very scientific, no? (I hope no one in Trump's camp reads this; they probably would believe it.)

But, seriously, the MIC shouldn't worry about old Trump. If he doesn't give them war with Russia, not to worry, he'll give them war with China.

I personally am very heartsick about this country's current & future war involvements. And all of it is just because of profit.

We saw the week after the election, the throwing of shit against the wall to see what sticks... the list of excuses as to why Hillary lost is exhaustive, and Hillary Clinton is often curiously forgotten on said list... Of all the excuses, Russia has the most going for it, since it pits us vs. them, all the while creating a false impression of fighting for your country, what's right, etc...

but make no mistake, this is and always will be about deflecting blame away from the neoliberal Democratic Party and the shitty corporatist candidate they just ran who lost to Das Pumpkinfuhrer.

This is a blatant attempt to distract us while keeping the spigots of dark money flowing.

and Chris had his weekly Diary, Nuts & Bolts, posted. Here's a snip...

"... When you write about local issues, you may find you are the only person at all who does so, and those reports from those meetings can be the difference in people discovering what happened and staying in the dark.

Over the last four years, I’ve sat in legislative session in five different state houses. While several have good reporters on hand, there simply aren’t enough to effectively cover the committee meetings being held or the proposals being put forward. And in those cases, I’m talking state government. Imagine how much information comes out of your local city council!

Dr. William Barber III challenged us in North Carolina: be the messenger. He wasn’t wrong. If we want to build a more informed electorate, it is on us to inform them, and not with assertions, but with hard facts that establish the journalistic questions: Who, What, Where, When, Why, How.

If you have an hour or two once a month, go to your local city or county government meeting. Post your thoughts on what happened. Even if nothing major is discussed or decided, you may be the only person who creates a real record that can be seen by constituents. And we all deserve to know more about our local government." -end quote-

Chris Reeves - aka on Twitter as tmservo433 - is a Kansas DNC delegate who will vote for HRC Monday. Originally a Bernie supporter and self proclaimed Berniecrat, Chris appears on our radio show Tuesdays, 11:35am -Noon ET talking progressive politics.

worse a dangerous oversimplification of how party politics works.

His suggestion to "start local and work your way up" is just laughably naive. Party politics doesn't work that way except in very rare, exceptional circumstances.

He may have supported Bernie, but his "Nuts & Bolts" diaries definitely reek of the kind of "bootstrap yourself into leadership" thought the elites prefer folks think works, when in fact it doesn't. He takes the view that the high school student council version of how party politics works is actually meaningful, when it really isn't. It's kind of sad to see how readily he's been elevated as a "thought leader" over there.

And if he's really an Elector for Hillary, well, that doesn't lend him any credibility in my opinion.

Dems will be voting for Trump on Monday. Just a guess. His Bernie cred is as solid as anyone's, having supported Bernie all the way thru Cali, then, as a DNC delegate, supporting HRC after her coronation in Philly, but always supporting Berniecrats. You may disagree with his Nuts & Bolts philosophy, but it is also Bernie's. Top Down has served us so well. [rolls eyes] No one west of the Mississippi works harder at building the party than Chris. I left my local yokel Dem party becuz they were more interested in the cocktail parties than in getting local Dems elected. We can't run (Jim), Wink. He'll get his ass handed to him! Really? So, we're not going to run anyone? Exactly, Wink, it's more prudent, face saving. Alrighty, then... bye... My local yokel party "Leadership" looks a lot like the DNC "Leadership." A shame. One Chris and others work to correct.

dangerous, too, on this, in my opinion. He's just dead wrong: the way forward isn't with the Democratic Party.

Chris didn't exactly get where he is in New York or California, with the entrenched machine fighting him. And that's what I meant in my first comment: it's a mistake to believe his success is generalizable, and the mistake is as much out of ignorance about how the party works as anything else.

As for party building I haven't seen it. From him or any other Democrat in a position of leadership. And, by the way, he doesn't have to serve as an elector. Only 200-some folks do. It says a lot about him if he is one for Hillary. I'm of a mind to view a person's actions as having at least as much meaning as their words.

home from Germany. It sucks being part of imperialism. Brings me back to this:

Either the Russians did Americans a favor, by exposing the epic corruption of one of their two major parties and one of the candidates seeking to become president — something that a more independent and aggressive domestic media would have and should have done on their own, if not by hacking then by paying attention to, instead of ignoring and blacking out, what frustrated insiders like DNC Vice Chair Tulsi Gabbard, the Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii who quit in disgust saying the DNC was undermining the primaries on behalf of Clinton’s campaign. Or alternatively, we’re being told that our 240-year-old democracy is so shriveled and weak that an outside government can easily undermine it and manipulate the outcome as if we were some corrupt and fragile banana republic.

would have become the target of the country's ire. It was that much of an unpopularity contest. Ultimately, that's worse for us, because making Trump the target leaves the establishment apparently with squeaky-clean hands in the public eye. The establishment will cluck at those foolish, nasty voters who are To Blame for Trump and who really shouldn't have a say in our wonderful country's direction, and re-establish itself as a credible force, using a ridiculous version of anti-racism (about 1 inch deep) as its moral alibi (see, we don't say nasty racist things on TV, so we're the good guys! It seems to me that the millenials that I work with know what's going on with regard to the environment and the economy. They are open and wonderful.
