Sure Nuff -- Even weirder crap from the Red Side's Scalise
Some folks write you emails pretending to be President Trump.
I won’t do that to you.
Some folks pretend donations will somehow fund DOGE’s work.
I prefer to be honest with you.
This is Steve Scalise. As your House Majority Leader, I work hand and glove with President Trump and I love the work he and DOGE are doing for our country.
And when I ask you for support, I want to treat you with respect and be transparent about where your money is going.
You are not an ATM. You are a valued member of our MAGA movement. You deserve to be treated that way.
So that's why I’m dropping into your inbox right now:
The Democrat Machine is firing on all cylinders to undermine, stonewall, and sabotage everything President Trump, and DOGE are doing to make our government more efficient and cut waste.
Of course, the DC Swamp can’t have that.
That’s why they’re mobilizing the courts, Deep State operatives, and Congressional Democrats to unleash a coordinated political hatchet job against the Trump Administration.
Democrats are suing him. They’re pushing for partisan investigations. They’re firing off hit piece after hit piece in the press. They’re introducing legislation to block his access. And a top Democrat even floated impeachment against Trump.
Their plan is simple:
1. Attack Trump and DOGE
2. Drag them into court battles
3. Slow them down at every turn
4. Use the press to attack their work
5. Unload millions to win the Midterms
6. Block Trump’s ENTIRE legislative agendaThat’s where House Republicans – and most importantly, YOU – can make a major difference.
Democrats have already pledged 50 million dollars to win the Midterm elections, take control of Congress, and exploit that power to sabotage EVERYTHING President Trump is doing to save the country. That includes the critical work of DOGE.
Cook Political Report just highlighted EIGHT toss-up districts that will determine who wins the House. If Democrats win even a few seats, it’s over. They win the House.
That’s why I’m tapping our entire grassroots movement for help.
If you can afford to do so, I’m imploring you to pitch in a few bucks to save our House Majority – and President Trump’s entire legislative agenda along with it.
PLEASE CONTRIBUTE NOW
Again, I’m NOT pretending this money is going to fund DOGE or anything these other groups are alluding to.This money will go directly to the most important battleground districts in the country so we can win the Midterms and keep delivering on President Trump’s MAGA agenda.
If you agree this is a noble cause to support, please consider pitching in right now.
God bless you,
– Steve
Irony thy name is Politics Now.
Scalise opens by noting that he realizes that there is a lot of bogus email traffic this season with false claims of being Donnie Fucknuts. But he has already sent a dozen or so notes to "me" whom he says is a Big Donor to the wingnut cause. In fact, my political past includes being a delegate to the Texas State Democratic Convention in 1972, casting my ballot for George McGovern. Since then, I quit the Blue Party because it was too much like Scalise's party

It's amazing they're still promoting DOGE
when DOGE was bad by any measure one cares to name.

@Cassiodorus Doge actually is a word
Doge actually is a word for lord/member of the aristocracy. Idiot-savant mixed with megalomania is the real description of the high-tech/rich yahoos who want to be that aristocracy. What a kozmik, bad joke!

The absolute worst
...experiences I had driving throughout the lower 48 for ten years were in Louisiana. One could say my experience was superficial driving through it hundreds of times. The worst experiences were environmental, arising from the petrochemical infrastructure, and the paper processing industry. The water was obviously polluted. The air made one gag. I literally felt I needed a gas mask when I got out of the truck at a pick up or delivery point. My eyes would burn and I'd literally worry about being poisoned the air was so bad.
The food quality was among the worst in the US. The obvious poverty of the people I encountered when I had to stop was tragic. I tried by every means possible not to take my daily ten hour break there, or stop to eat there at all costs. Imagine breathing those poisonous chemicals all night. Imagine the chemically polluted water used to wash dishes and prepare food. If I actually sat in a truck stop restaurant to eat because I couldn't avoid it, I'd sit near the black drivers in case one of the rednecks started going off about their bs white nationalist crap. That's where Scalise and Johnson are coming from.
The infrastructure was decrepit as well. I feared major bridges and elevated sections of major highways might collapse under the weight of traffic.
So this is the state from which the country selects for its national leadership in the house of representatives. They should ask Mr. Koch and the other billionaires for their financial support.
Both the Speaker and the Majority leader come from Louisiana the bottom ranked state in the US.
Louisiana #50 in overall rankings

Half way thru a novel now about the Bayou state
.
Granted it has been many years since gracing the swamps
But it was a unique experience all in all. The Cajuns are good
people. The cuisine wonderful (away from I-10). It is a tough life.
Acadiana is a testament to the resilience of a subculture chased out
of France, then Canada.

@fwf: How did you manage to get stuck
with this FRightwingnut garbage? The reason I'm asking is I am a long-time ECFL(orida) activist/voter. I live in Dumbf##kland. I sure don't get any of that crap on my devices. As far as what @soryang commented on, I agree wholeheartedly. Lousiana is very badly polluted, worse than Floridumb. The Dead Zone which is a huge body of water is so poisoned, anything that lives in it is a major mutation, for sure. It's where the Mississippi empties into the Gulf of Mexico. Gulf environmentalists like me have despaired over it for decades. The rednecks are for real. The redneck wannabes are worse. No lie. You have my deepest sympathies. Rec'd!!

I have no idea how they lit on my email addy
but that is all they have and they obviously do not care about having my name. Multiple C99 members have commented on this series of threads with advice or commiseration about being subjected to this bullum shittum. But I am an old man and I have nothing but time on my hands.
It is not much of a chore to delete spam. I do it 50 or more times a day with adverts. This shit at least amuses me while it offers a window into the political propaganda mentality.

I just got a fundbegging
email from Alexandria Ocasio-Corez that escaped my filters. It seems that some dem campaigns are no longer just slavishly using the (many) NGP VAN spam mills. Some that have the budget for it are taking the NGP VAN sucker mailing list and brewing their own spam mills to avoid everyone's email filters.
Looks like the latest spam mill is called Actionkit, and its fingerprint does appear in the body of the email. So, for those who might prefer to prefilter their email, add "ocasiocortez.com" in the header filters, and "actionkit" in the body.
Sigh...

In defense of Lousy Ana
When I was a union representative in the 1980s, I spent significant amounts of time in New Orleans, Lafayette, and a couple of River Towns called Gramercy and Reserve. I saw plenty of poverty that looked exactly like poverty in Dallas and Austin. The air was often miserably humid and hot, but I never smelled anything out of the industrial ordinary.
Huey Long was vilified, much like Blue Pols are today, but he did shake things up a bit.
40 years ago, the racism was still out of the closet amongst my white union members, and the black members kept their cool when racist white jerkoffs dropped N bombs.
While I agree with you about the embarrassing creepiness of MAGA Era Republicans from Lousy Ana, they aren't really any more repulsive than Trump supporters everywhere else.

I'll be honest with you. I don't get the whole
tRump cult: Repuke, DINO, etc. I've been watching the horror show since Dick the Prick Nixon. tRump??? Are you kidding me?? That same buffoon yahoo that's been "gracing" the pages of the tabloids at the grocery store checkouts for over 50 years?? I'm sure the craporate fascists have something "better" just waiting to replace him/it when it drops dead.

Agreed
Trump's absurdity baffles too many of his opponents as he picks up where Nixon and Reagan left off -- dismantling the New Deal.
