Friday Night Photos Blood Moon Edition
Submitted by Socialprogressive on Fri, 05/27/2022 - 5:00pm
Happy Friday everyone. As always, post any photos you like.
The first of two lunar eclipses for this year occurred on the 15th. Unlike the eclipse we had last November, Mother Nature was good enough to provide clear skies this time.
The next lunar eclipse is in November. Be sure to mark your calendar.

Evening, QMS.
From my own personal observation, I'm convinced during a full moon people tend to drive a little crazier than they usually do.

Hi Social
I hope it's ok if I retitle it the Mandarin Moon - just beautiful. Thank you for your vision.
Meanwhile here, winter is slower to come than ever in my memory ...
I'll be back in a few hours to see what other delights I find.
Hi, Janis.
Mandarin Moon sounds good to me.
It looks like a late arriving winter isn't such a bad thing. Beautiful flower portraits.

Thank you Social
Enjoy the weekend, and all that you see.
Love the Pansies.
My grandmother taught me to call them the "Clown Flowers".
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.
Thank you for your grandmothers name for them
I was trying to identify what they reminded me of, and now I know.
Here are more pansies for you and your grandmother ...
I wonder why pansy can be a derogative term when they are so robust in the cold? This morning they were almost frosty, and an hour later shining in the light.
great pics Janis!
be well!

Thank you obf
I'm glad you enjoyed the flower photos.
Hi pixelators
Hi all, Hey SP! GREAT eclipse photos! Fantastic! Beautiful! Outstanding!
I think this was about a solar eclipse...
We had great eclipse viewing here. The cool thing was that the Chuck-will's-widow (a nightjar like Whip-poor-will or Nighthawks) were calling vociferously and as the moon went dark they all shut up. Then after totality as the moon got bright again, they began calling again. I have had the same thing happen with diurnal species during a solar eclipse. For nocturnal birds, the moon is their sun...
Hope all are well, and thanks for the pixels!

Your translation of nature in its simplicity and depth often arrests me and makes me speechless.
merci

You certainly do
have a talent for getting down to the essentials ; ).
Thank you, dystopian.
Glad you had clear skies and were able to watch the eclipse.
The only night birds I hear are owls, and I don't hear them very often.

Perfect video!
