Things are starting to heat up between Biden and Sanders!

It appears as if the gloves are coming off.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and former Vice President Joe Biden ramped up attacks on each other Tuesday night as part of an escalating battle over their records on Social Security.

Sanders has hammered his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, arguing that he backed proposed cuts to Social Security during his years as a senator.

Biden said he was committed to not only maintaining but also strengthening the program and released an attack ad Tuesday dinging the Vermont Independent as “flat-out wrong.”

@humphrey

They will tell us that ByeDone has always been a strong protector of the under class. "Joe has been strong on protecting social security from cuts that republicans keep putting on the table. They will help Biden out and gang up on Bernie. Nancy and Chuck will give people their talking points.

AOC will come to help Bernie. She already did when she said in another country she and Joe wouldn't be in the same party. What's Omar been doing lately?

Here's the lie.

Sanders, whose campaign is centered around expanding the country’s social safety net and bolstering programs such as Social Security, fired the first volley in the latest back-and-forth, releasing a selectively edited video suggesting that Biden advocated for cutting Social Security while he was in the Senate.

We've seen the numerous videos of Joe going after social security. But he's saying that Bernie is attacking other candidates, but who is really attacking someone by calling them liars when it's them that is lying? Gaslighting?

Here's the ad.

OMG he's lying big time about he and MyBoss beating back attempts to privatize it. DK has a diary on this and lots of them are defending ByeDone and saying that he never wanted to cut it even though he appointed Alan Simpson to run the cat food commission!

@snoopydawg

The dispute is just one of multiple brawls among the top-tier primary candidates less than two weeks before the first nominating contest in Iowa.

Among the higher-profile feuds are the disagreement between Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) over whether he told her a woman could not be elected president.

While Sanders and Biden show no signs of letting up over their Social Security dispute, the two did appear eager to lay to rest controversy over an op-ed by a Sanders campaign surrogate published in The Guardian that accused Biden of corruption.

Let's remember who attacked first. Liz did when she said Bernie was trashing her because his supporters told people that her supporters were mostly upper middle class and white. Truth.

Then today we got Herheinous crawling out of the woods to spew garbage and now we have Joe calling Bernie a liar whilst he's lying about his record!

But yeah let's blame it on Bernie.

I wish we could have decent debates where these issues would come up. Bernie needs to hit Joe on everything, but especially student loans. When he talks about this he should remind people that it was ByeDone who made it impossible to discharge them.

You arrogant twitch! I bet she does think that the world is waiting on her every word.

Of course 'some' people are blaming Bernie for what Hillary said about him. I put on my whole body suit and waded into the orange swamp.

Put yourself in her position. She was eminently qualified to be President, the first serious woman contender in history, and she beat the men by their rules, fair and square.
However, she was cheated out of the Presidency, to the great damage of the American people, to great harm to women and children and minorities, by right wing billionaires, Putin, the Russian government, the gop, Trump, Bernie, Jill Stein and the “left”, the FBI and the Media.
...and she weighed in honestly about Bernie. Fairly mild, really.
...and people want to complain?

Where does one start with someone that delusional? Like Hillary neither one are dealing with reality.

That Hillary and her lobotomized supporters are miffed by the pushback. As if what? We'd agree, or just STFU? When have we ever done that when it comes to Hillary and the things that come from her venal pie hole?

This NYTIMES oped what could be considered a scolding if not a scathing critique of Hillary's actions.

I will skip to what I consider the good parts.

Democrats may not agree on much these days, but on the matter of their greatest wish, there is resounding consensus:

They want to beat Donald Trump this November. Full stop.

So it’s of no help to the cause when Hillary Clinton, the party’s 2016 nominee, disparages other Democrats and shatters party unity based on her own festering resentment.

snip

It wasn’t so long ago that Mrs. Clinton made similarly pointless comments suggesting that another Democrat in the race, Representative Tulsi Gabbard, was the favored candidate of the Russians. All that did was help Tulsi Gabbard, who some have feared might wage an independent campaign in November. Her relevance was briefly inflated by being the object of Mrs. Clinton’s public ire.

If interest in Mrs. Clinton is high enough to warrant a documentary, fine. But in the middle of a presidential campaign, does she need to be so distracting?

And, as a reminder, after the 2016 Democratic convention, Mr. Sanders campaigned vigorously for Mrs. Clinton. “We have to do everything that we can to elect Secretary Clinton!” he roared to crowds while stumping for her in North Carolina days before the election. “Sanders has been one of the real champions of this campaign,” The New Yorker reported at the time.

I only included portions of the article as I didn't want to over do it but it is worth a read if you have access to it.

Simply don’t understand that calling them out no longer takes a few hours staring at microfiche in a library basement - anyone can do it in seconds with a web search. So the Bidens of the world keep acting like they can hide their record behind the friction of old technology.

The only way and old pol can avoid this problem is by being consistent for a long time. Which is what Bernie has done, so he is kind of immune.
