MSM says Bernie is finished

sanders.PNG

It's like something from Joseph Heller's Catch-22.
Facts no longer matter.
Bernie is winning/has been winning in every single poll against Trump for at least a month.
Yet the national news media is bending over backwards to convince you that the Sanders campaign is kaput/washed-up/expired.

Meanwhile, the NY Times coverage of Bernie has been exposed.

Boing Boing reports that Sydney Ember, a New York Times reporter the focuses on covering Bernie Sanders, primarily sources corporate lobbyists, war criminals, and far-right figures to discredit the presidential nominee. Not only that, Ember’s coverage, which FAIR revealed is consistently negative, does not disclose her connections to the finance world and even undergoes “stealth edits” to tilt the coverage’s slant in the negative direction.

Ember reportedly began working for the Times after a position as an analyst at the hedge fund and coal-booster Blackrock. She is also married to Mike Bechek, son of the former CEO of Bain & Company, where he used to work.

Of the corporate figures Ember quotes are: Jim Kessler, executive vice president for Policy at Third Way, a think-tank made mostly of bankers, CEOs, and corporate lawyers that push for cutting Social Security and Medicare and seek to prevent higher taxes for billionaires; Jarrod Loadholt, called “a Democratic strategist” according to Ember but more specifically a consumer finance lobbyist that supported a bill that enables banks to practice racial discrimination; and Tracy Sefl, referred to by Ember as “a veteran Democratic strategist” but more specifically a former senior advisor for Hillary Clinton who has worked with the right-wing news aggregator The Drudge Report. Sefl was also “a hired gun at a Republican-led firm Navigators Global.”

Has anyone ever seen something like this before? I never have.

@WoodsDweller He brings a solid package to the table, and stands out among the candidates for his pointed refusal to take any contributions from Big Processed Lunchmeat - of course, the establishment is determined to shove him out of the race by harping on how he's "not a REAL sandwich".

Gyro's a long-shot candidate with small pockets of eager support across the country. Despite being refreshingly different from most of the others, and a well-seasoned politician, talking heads are insisting his campaign is DOA just because they don't think voters will be able to pronounce his name.

Philly Cheesesteak was in a great position to start with: Very rich, establishment's blessing, and everyone thought his Tri-State Area appeal could be marketed anywhere...but then he died of a heart attack. Oops.

That Trump's popularity is at 60%. That may be bogus, but I hear fewer and fewer complaints about him as his antics become familiar and the stock market and employment numbers stay high.

The person I hear nothing good about is Biden. i.e. "What did he ever do?" "Wasn't he Obama's token white?" "Who?"

the fake "progressives" that are the gatekeepers who are ironically protecting Trump from facing an opponent who is actually different from him are the actual hardest obstacle. It's not actually anyone but Trump but rather any neoliberal corporatist, they want the gravy train to keep going so would grudgingly prefer Trump over Bernie Sanders or Tulsi Gabbard.

Looking at those headlines, it's obvious the MSM are biased against real Progressives, like Bernie Sanders. I just don't think the average person pays much attention to these people and this is why they have to scream louder and louder. The MSM have lost a lot of credibility since Bush II/Cheney and by the time of the 2016 Presidential campaign, they looked "old & tired". Right now CNN's Chris Cuomo is interviewing Jo & Jill Biden. Biden looks "old & tired", just like CNN. But who's listening? Not me, because I have it on MUTE and I bet I'm not alone.

@snoopydawg Yes, I saw his half-apology, but ByeDone will make other gaffes and have to issue more half-apologies. If he were such a good politician, he would have been president by now. His political career has spanned almost 50 years. I'm waiting for some of the other Dem presidential candidates to punch ByeDone over the Anita Hill hearings. It's coming and I can't wait. I watched those hearings and Anita Hill was not treated well.

@MrWebster They had been treating him like a buffoon since his days in the House. That crazy commie socialist from Vermont, haw haw, along with Barney Frank that homo. I briefly watched MSNBC tonight, and they were positively gushing over how much money Warren raised. They acted like Bernie had never existed, that Warren was doing something unprecedented. At a different time, they were covering the Biden-Harris kerfluffle. So far as I know, the only other candidate who has chimed in on that is Tulsi. Guess they didn’t like what Tulsi said; they never mentioned her.

I’m also having a WTF moment with the polls. One poll had Sanders at 9%. For me, the pollsters have lost all credibility. (and why can’t at least ONE pollster do a ranked choice poll?)

Joe Biden is a Collaborator

It’s really quite simple: the rogue oligarchs and corporations who now run this country constitute the enemy. Since becoming a Senator in 1973, your favorite Irish uncle, Joe Biden, has actively collaborated in the extreme capitalism, racism, nationalism, and police state-ism that enable the oligarchs’ agenda; and while most ably empowered by their instrument, the Republican Party, between times, it is more than adequately carried out by the Democrats. What we see now, with a mostly pliant Trump, with a conservative majority Supreme Court, and with a divided Congress where stasis rules, is the Oligarchy’s ideal. But as the political calendar moves on – a proven collaborator must be installed, over the next twelve months, as the Democratic nominee in the 2020 tryst with their current champion – just in case.

Biden now apparently preeminent among them as the former Vice President and a Senator of Noachian longevity, stand by to facilitate this process. Not so long ago, Obama, the Appeaser-in-Chief, with the collaborationist Biden at his side, did sterling work on the oligarchs’ behalf. Obama’s failure to adequately press for the instatement of Justice Merrick Garland in 2016, ensured the Court’s conservative majority.

The Democratic Party, despite its professed support of Labor and egalitarian social programs, is a tragically weak bulwark against this prevailing agenda of enrichment of the few at the expense of the many. In recent history, we have suffered through two intensely collaborationist governments, overseen by Bill Clinton and Barak Obama. In 2016, we only escaped a third because of Trump’s victory over his putative opponent Hillary Clinton. She, of course, was a Presidential collaborationist in the making, having served her time as both a Senator and as Secretary of State in a government committed to the demands of capital and to the realpolitik of Empire. In place of a Presidency infused with a profoundly false consciousness, we have instead, the real deal. Frightening isn’t it?

But we should not forget that Biden remains typical of the great, antediluvian Congressional horde. His complicity in furthering the oligarchs’ agenda is well known. He was complicit in the passage of the racist Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994; complicit in Obama’s canny retention of private health insurers in the mix of the Affordable Care Act; and complicit in the ACA’s denial of health services to ‘illegals’. This blatant act of government triage is coupled, in its inhumanity, with the deportation, during Obama’s two terms, of almost three million ‘illegal’ immigrants. Both actions are eerily redolent of past foreign genocides and directly comparable to our own home-grown genocide when Native Americans were herded into reservations which offered tragically limited game-lands, poor soil, disease and overcrowding. Now, in this revisiting of the past, our deportees are returned to impoverished and violent countries, fatally corrupted by the United States, where the climate emergency has made life for the poor a living (and dying) hell. It is worth recalling that these deportations are perpetrated in a nation founded by ‘illegals’.

It won't matter if Trump or ByeDone wins because the results will be the same. A win for the oligarchs and a loss for the 99% just like it's been for a very long time. But for now Trump is trying to keep us out of new wars which ByeDone will be all too willing to get us into.

@snoopydawg
Do we have an immigration law or not? I'm not arguing the law's humanity, effectiveness or effect on society, just it's existence. It seems more legal than a string of dictatorial Executive Orders. Democrats lose the general pubic by pretending that laws don't exist. Why don't Democrats pass a law reforming immigration? Or returning to the old Open Door policy? There is no chance of it passing the Senate or Trump's veto pen, so why don't they do political theater and pass a bill instead of holding press conferences and playing word games like exchanging the word undocumented for illegal? My wife is undocumented. The spelling of her name on her birth certificate doesn't match any other document so she can't get a Real ID, although her family has been in Chicago (male line) since 1846. But some nurse spelled her name wrong and she becomes truly undocumented. The same thing happened to my daughter only I caught it as soon as it was issued and had it corrected in the legal time frame. I wanted to check it at the hospital but they refused, saying "only the mother is allowed to see this". i.e. only the woman, now drugged, who just went through the painful ordeal of her first childbirth is allowed to consider that the nurse may have transcribed the information wrong.

US Economy and US corporations, take a look at the Fortune 200, or a good list of the top 100-500 public multinationals, and you'll see Blackrock & Vanguard are MAJOR shareholders of the US Economy.

Freaked me out a few months ago. I knew about the power of hedge funds and other investment operations, but the scale of Blackrock & Vanguard's holdings are rather staggering. They make huge investment movers and shakers like JP Morgan, GS, BofA look like pikers.
