They Can't Afford It: Capitalism's Big Lie

I am of course referring to the capitalists who rule every aspect of the world, but particularly in the United States.

We hear them scream all the time that they can't afford to raise wages so people can actually live on them rather than work 3 to four jobs to survive. They also scream that they can't afford to pay for the benefits workers desperately need but also decry Single Payer as outright Communism (Not that most of them would bother to understand what Communism, or Socialism, actually is).

The capitalists who rule this shithole also whine that we can't afford to rebuild our infrastructure. But that's never stopped them from bragging about the trillions they've stolen over the last few decades through austerity measures, tax scams, wage theft, pension looting and stock market gambling.

They also decide where and when we go to war. They've been doing this kind of crap since the founding of the United Shitholes of 'Murica, but they really ramped it up just before the 20th century. We were lied into the Spanish-American War by none other than William Randolph Hearst.

In the very beginning of the first chapter of Douglas Tottle's "Fraud, Famine and Fascism: The Ukrainian Genocide Myth from Hitler to Harvard" (I recommend this book, by the way) is an interesting quote:

In 1898 various US business interests, including sugar companies, were anxious for the United States to seize Cuba. A pretext was needed to build up pro-war sentiment among the US public. American press magnate William Randolph Hearst, so the story goes, assigned the noted artist Frederick Remington to Cuba to find evidence of conditions which would justify a US military intervention. Finding nothing out of the ordinary, Remington cabled back to Hearst: "Everything is quiet here....I wish to return." Hearst replied: "Please remain. You furnish the pictures and I'll furnish the war."

It's worth noting that this very practice is how we've gone into every single "war" since World War II. We're seeing it now with propaganda against Russia, Iran, Venezuela and North Korea. And we've paid for every damn war while they've made out like bandits.

No wonder they scream "We can't afford it!!!111!1" when people in this shithole demand anything that might actually better their lives..they're too busy spending everything to rape foreign markets and gambling with our money.

Hell, they even forced those who fought the "revolution" in the 1770s rather than paying for it themselves. After all, George Washington and his merry mob of robber barons didn't get rich by writing checks or paying their workers. They were capitalists, after all, and they had a racket to maintain and couldn't tolerate anyone who opposed it.

So the next time some capitalist or one of their fluffers on TV (Looking at you NBC, Fox and CNN) or "small business owner" buffers says "We can't afford it!!!111!1" to any policy that might enrich society as a whole, just tell them "Fine. We can't afford you."

But not really. Reminds me of those who scream about how much illegals are "getting" and how we simply can't afford THAT while "we" ever so blithely acquiesce to spending upwards of $1t on endless wars. Never any mention of THAT, is there?

budget deficit, two main reasons "they can't afford it", which will come to bite us very soon. While the democrats pretend we can have a better health care system and a multi-trillion dollar green new deal, both parties understand what is to come. Austerity for the masses, because if imperialism isn't ended and the national debt isn't dissolved, the duopoly will have to drain our blood.

@Big Al Funnily enough, the "debt" they talk about just so happens to equal the amount they've stolen over the years, all of which will go to their kids or grand kids.

Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.

Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.

@The Aspie Corner

I doubt there's anything left to drain at this point.

Nah, they'll find something more to steal. They're good at this shit. Anyway, after they've bled every drop possible from us, they'll go after the rich bastard next to them ... even their own kin. It's what they do.
