Jill Stein is a Russian Spy!

Yes, we are back here again.

Senate investigators are scrutinizing links between Jill Stein, the Green Party’s 2016 presidential nominee, and Russia’s campaign to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, searching for evidence of possible conspiracy.

OMFG!

Democrats have seethed for more than a year at Ms. Stein, whose tens of thousands of votes in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania either exceeded or nearly matched Donald J. Trump’s margins of victory in those states, which delivered him the White House. At least in certain quarters, they greeted news of the queries enthusiastically.
Jesse Ferguson, a former Clinton campaign spokesman, said Americans ought to know if a presidential nominee, no matter how minor, had become a Russian asset or was simply boosted in an effort to chip away Democratic votes from Mrs. Clinton.
“Russian operatives were not promoting Jill Stein because they thought she would win,” Mr. Ferguson said. “They were promoting her because they thought it would hurt Hillary Clinton and help Donald Trump.”

"Russian operatives"!!! Spies, in other words.
And I like how the Democrats are admitting that this is a political witchhunt.

On the other hand, this'll teach Stein for trying to help out the Hillary campaign with her targeted recount efforts. Maybe she'll realize that the Dems aren't on anyone's side (except for maybe the Republicans).

Leaders of the nation’s biggest third party targeted Democrats and the media, saying they have launched a campaign to smear Stein and the Green Party by insinuating she colluded with Russia.
“The demand from Republicans on the Senate committee and the flood of tweets against Dr. Stein from Democratic operatives shows a patent attempt to discredit an alternative party,” said Green Party secretary Jody Grage.
“If you voted for Jill Stein you were part of a Russian intelligence operation. Or you’re an idiot. Or both,” tweeted Claude Taylor, a photographer who refers to himself as a “former Clinton staffer.”

I guess that means I'm a deplorable too.

Clearly everyone I like is a Russian Agent, so logically, I should be supporting Russia.

Can we get a couple crates of AK47's? One would think the NRA would welcome the chance to support a small business owner's intention to fully take advantage of our 2nd Amendment.

Jill Stein goes on pro-Russia rant, calls election interference “conspiracy theory”

I will never understand why some on the far left have such a soft-spot for Soviet and now Russian dictators.

This one is even better

Kremlin attacks me for criticizing Jill Stein’s unfortunate Moscow trip

Putin’s support for Stein is similar. He knows there’s a better chance of disaffected lefties voting for Stein than for Trump, so Putin is also doing what he can to push liberal voters to Stein. All to hurt Hillary, and all to get Trump elected.

We even saw an influx of Russian sock puppet trolls on AMERICAblog on Saturday when the piece about Stein in Moscow was published. The trolls all wrote in fluent, but not-quite-right, English that had a decided slavic accent to it. (Leaving off “the,” having difficulties with prepositions, etc.) (For a really scary read about how sophisticated Russian sock puppets now are, and how they’re rooting for Trump, read this Daily Beast piece.)

@snoopydawg the greedy rulers won't stop until the earth is uninhabitable. It's a psychological malice with this bunch. They can't stop raping the world because they make the worldly laws. It will take our combined karma to survive this mess. I believe there are stronger powers than those of the global elite. Our consolidated efforts will tip the balance, or so I hope.

I was visiting her yesterday and when she and my uncle's friend started talking about the Russian plot, I couldn't hold my tongue back. I told them what I think about this and whoboy, it didn't go well Smile I wrote about this in last night's EBs. Every time they said one thing I had a comeback to it. We agreed to disagree..

Collins is saying that the people who are criticizing her for her tax votes are sexists. A few of the replies to her:

Uh huh. Sexism! I don’t believe this. She’s got to be kidding.

She’s being criticized for how she voted. Because of who she is.

The one that most people said.

Her vote was just one of many votes, so why is she being the only one who is being called out for it? Why don't people mention Biden, Feinstein, Kerry and the other democrats who voted for it? (I can hear the whiners' tone, can't you?)

If one criticized Clinton’s policies or performance, labeling them as sexist was the response of first resort by her supporters, and occasionally her. Perhaps she’ll sympathize with Collins on the sexism angle, while disagreeing on the substance.

Rec's-0 -Flagged into the hiddens

I recently reread Tasini's diary that got him banned from Dead State from right after the ides of March ban hammer came down

An Anniversary: 100,000s Dead, $7 Trillion Wasted, ISIS Spawned. The Status Quo Candidate's Legacy.

It is perhaps a testament to the fecklessness of the media that it has basically given a free ride to the status quo candidate on her vote for the Iraq War. The Iraq War? That was so yesterday. Well, it was actually 13 years ago that the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld criminal three-some unleashed the war that was, as Bernie Sanders has correctly said, was the worst foreign policy debacle in recent memory, and there is plenty of competition for that “honor”. Unleashed with the help of the vote of then-Senator Clinton, who voted for the war because, she was told by her advisors, you needed to look tough.

It’s grotesque that the vote that led to the slaughter of 100,000s of human beings and the waste of $5-$7 trillion (based on the updated estimate by Nobel Prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz) can simply be dismissed today as a “mistake”, and the lapdog press, without as much of a whimper, let’s that go. And to boot, the status quo candidate dismisses any attempt to focus on the criminality of that war as roughly, “oh that was long ago, you can’t structure policy today by harping on the past”.

Oh what fun we had responding to it and to the members who tore him a new one. Lots of names that I haven't seen for years now. Dead Head and so many others who are nowhere to be seen.
The funny thing is that a lot of the people who rec'ed the diary and agreed with him and were Bernie supporters are now fully on board with this Russian crap. I can't understand how that can happen.
