I have come here in order to reason about difficult things. I want peace and justice, not empty political promises.
To that end, I want to debate the core identity of the United States. That is not enough - I want to reverse engineer the entire social framework, lay bare the blueprints, so that the weaknesses are exposed and exploited.
I am an outcast, but by choice. Looking forward to working and interacting with like minded people to make a positive difference in our lives and society. I have never posted anything, and this is clearly the wrong way to begin. But with all the fireworks of debates, caucuses, primaries, and punditry, there is also the matter of the next step once the dust is settled. Thinking back to my childhood, I was just old enough to understand that my president, his protestations notwithstanding, was a crook. Politics has always been about lesser evils.
Mayor Bill DeBlasio today signed an executive order declaring that all city-owned buildings that have single-sex facilities would allow transgender people to use the facility of the gender with which they identify. That order includes schools, city offices, gyms and recreation centers, public parks and some museums.
People will not be asked to show identification or otherwise prove their gender, the city said, and employees will receive training to assist them in meeting the requirements.
The city’s public hospitals and public housing buildings, which are not technically covered by the order because they are run as independent authorities, have also agreed to implement the rules.
Today, the executive order will make loud and clear that New York City is a city for us all: cisgender, transgender, non-binary.

Bri from DailyKos posted an excellent diary, that IMHO, burns Kos to crisp, and shows how much he has "evolved" in 8 years. I find the diary a good reference point to combat the bullshit of Kos' nonsense, so I asked Bri for permission to post it here, which he graciously allowed.

The street carmen of Washington, D. C., conducted a two-day strike, March 5th and 6th. Negotiations are ongoing and a settlement is expected soon. The article below from The Washington Herald of March 6th describes a mass meeting held by the strikers at which Mother Jones appeared unannounced and was greeted with great applause.

The cell phone and landline telephone survey interviewed 838 Michigan adults. The margin of error is 3.4 percent for the full survey, 5.8 percent among 290 likely Republican voters and 6.1 percent among 262 likely Democratic voters.
The State of the State Survey is a quarterly measure of the attitudes and opinions of Michiganders. It asks questions about consumer confidence, gubernatorial and presidential performance.
I'm certain there are more than a few supporters of Hillary Clinton lurking here at Caucus99. I've no idea if some of you have tried to join this site and been declined, or whether you haven't deigned to engage at C99 yet. If it were up to me, I'd allow such memberships without hesitation and give you a chance to state your case without rancor. Surely you have a case to make... but I've yet to encounter anything beyond Brockian spin and boilerplate lists of Sec.
