Obama

So, that's how Pres. Obama sees us all?

Damn mistake to go through the recent diary list on dailykos. Of course I had to sneak into one that got over 1000 comments (huzzah Markos, it's good for your business, congratulations).

I am honest here, that was a diary and comment thread, which makes me want to move to a place somewhere over the rainbow. You expect me to write a real essay about it? No, I can't, I am just too tired of life in the "incrementalist's dream world". I rather go fishing.

Libya - I am so pissed off.

Why?

First, there was no reason to invade yet another PNAC, neocon target. Khadafi's rule was, if anything, more benign than how it was portrayed to us poor saps on our side of the pond. He was not invading his neighbors, he posed no threat to us or to our allies, and he had some pretty diverse groups under control.

And then, the evil cabal of Sidney blumenthal and Hillary Clinton took over.

And Obama blew it big time because of them.

This sword of Damocles now swings in two arcs: HRC and BHO

We all know Hillary is in deep doo-doo, and apparently wading deeper into the fecal stream she created for herself. So many essays, blogs, diaries, rants have been written about this, that citations to the numerous posts will not be given here. But if you like streaming news, check out the Young Turks for lots of information on Hillary's woes.

Obama Administration Policies on Interrogation

There is an important diary up at GOS by Valtin, one of the leading longtime writers about interrogation and torture since the start of the Iraq War. He rarely writes anything there anymore, no surprise, but he has offered an important piece about the recent UN report and the Obama Administration. He suggests that both Clinton and Sanders should speak to the issue and I tend to agree with him.

US Sends Ground Troops, Drones to Cameroon

Open-Ended Mission to Stop 'Anti-Colonial Movement'

Invoking the War Powers Act, President Obama informed Congress today that he is deploying 300 ground troops and drones to the West African nation of Cameroon on a mission aimed at helping governments tamp down a “regional Muslim anti-colonial movement.

The White House says the deployment is going to be part of “a broader regional effort” and that the mission is totally open-ended, with the troops to remain until they are “no longer needed” in the country, though as usual they declined to lay out what this situation would look like.
