Another day, another excuse. With the collapse of the NYT vetted this story which disproved Tara Reade's allegations....
Whoops. They didn't. In fact, in a rare moment of anti-DNC pique the NYT struck back at this falsehood, mouthed by the wunnerful Stacey "I believe Women but not this woman" Abrams. NYT said they did no such thing. They had not proven nor disproven the TR story.
Well, I for one am shocked!

With typical quotes like these:

Instead, he sees his role as providing guardrails to keep the process from getting too ugly and to unite the party when the nominee is clear. There is one potential exception: Back when Sanders seemed like more of a threat than he does now, Obama said privately that if Bernie were running away with the nomination, Obama would speak up to stop him.
I remember reading those headlines at the time, thinking, if he steps in to stop Bernie publicly, it will destroy his legacy. And if there is one thing Obama cares about, it's his legacy.
The part of the left that lives and breathes politics on twitter has pushed candidates to take stands on issues contrary to our best interests. That small subset of hobbyists has an outsized influence as they are posting and reposting all of the outrage de jour. Most candidates, their staff, and the media follow the same or similar twitter posters.
