Well, Alister is clearly sarcastic

but the others are probably not. Must be some combination of the Trump reality distortion phenomenon, in which the horror of Trump completely warps one's perceptions, and the head up the ass syndrome. I'm thinking more the latter.

Apparently the Fans of Team Blue are much more interested in making sure the Presidency is occupied by someone who says the right things and doesn't look like a clown while he's doing it than they are with actual policy.

That reminds me of a wonderful vacay in Newport, RI. I cannot tell a lie: This borderline socialist enjoyed touring mansions.

Anyway, as we were getting out of the car, a band on the lawn of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Hutton]'s mansion was playing Putting on the Ritz, first time I'd heard it played in person. I felt Oh! so Gatsbyesque.
