Woo Hoo, 11/16 aka B/10 in Hex. Let's look at that 16.
First, however, being here on a Monday the 16th always means you survived a Friday the 13th, so congrats on that.

Your date related factoid factoid of the day: Nov 2 is the earliest day upon which US election day may fall. Wahoo.
Greetings, what a great week! Yesterday was our 32nd wedding anniversary, last night my Pittsburgh Panthers played the UNC Tarheels, tomorrow is Halloween and Sunday is Sweeties birthday.
This one is one of those songs that sounds good LOUD. Turn it up @ 0:45 and let it rip.
What is this thing with Saudi Arabia? It's like Saudi Arabia is the most powerful country in the world. One prince gets picked up for rape and then let off, his cousin gets caught with two tons of drugs apparently meant for "ISIS". Those Saudi dudes are always crashing their cars in Beverly Hills. And there was that escort of the bin Laden family out of the country on Sept. 12th. Somebody, explain what the United States is afraid of? Oil will get cut off? Or something else?
OT 10/26
As a west coaster, I do this in advance, which makes it difficult to be current on current events. So for inspiration I see what's up with this date using da kine wiki and other stuff which google dredges up. This has good points and bad points.
Let's face it, life used to be better. There was that thing about if you have $10 and no debt you're ahead of 25% of the country. Maybe life was better way back then because of that "no debt" business. I remember thinking "if I only had $10,000..." or "$100,000" or some figure. I'd be set! Life would be cushy! Of course in retrospect that life seems pretty good. We had no money to speak of but our rent was $50 a month.

Selective review of October 19 in history, cherrypicked from Wikipedia:
Not a good day for Carthage. In 202 BC during the Second Punic War Roman legions under Scipio Africanus defeated Hannibal Barca, leader of the army defending Carthage, at the Battle of Zama. Then, in 439 the Vandals, led by King Gaiseric, took Carthage.
Shaharazade had a fine OT going...but she didn't hit "save" and then accidentally navigated away from this page, losing everything and now she's cooking dinner so I (Shahryar) am going to take up the theme in my own way, not exactly wrecking it but giving it a slightly different emphasis, just because, as a male, I can't help it. I can't write it from the same perspective.

On this day in 1692, the Salem witch trials are ended by a letter from Massachusetts Governor William Phips. The curse of western "civilization" in one word.
