The major purpose for elections in this country is to keep the people from dealing with what is happening to them. The TV watching public likes to be entertained and will be consumed by even very bad theater. This time it is very important that the ploy works because the reality out there is terrifying. How can people not see it? They are blinded by the electoral theater. It eats up resources and energy while the system grinds on and continues to grow and ravage the earth.

In the last couple of years when he became involved with grassroots political activism over FB and at TOP, decided to give him another chance, then was happy to see that he endorsed Bernie, explained many issues in a way that a broader public could understand them. This election cycle offers an unparalleled opportunity for the movement to organize and cast off the yoke of the corporate duopoly that controls our election space. The behind-the-scenes nefarious actions that the parties use to control the elections have been more obvious than usual and have been brought to the public's attention repeatedly. The public seems more aware that the election process is not working as it should in the sort of democracy that the US tries to convince us we live in.

Awareness of the corruption of the process should be a great boon to bringing about demand and support for serious reforms from a broad segment of the public.

Our sham elections have no longer any resemblance of democracy. I have been silently watching for a while. What is there to say that is not being turned into a drum beat.

I am 80 years old and it is quite clear that having participated in elections all those years only shows how much the system has the power to totally boggle otherwise functioning minds. Once one sees through the con game there is no going back.
