Oh yeah I was nattering on about art, street and otherwise, mostly alternative and counterculture. I checked my 'essays' and found I gave up the ghost sometime during the surreal election. So now I'm back to do the Sunday OT. I'm finding during this madness that I'm once again turning to art. Old and new.

My apologies for missing getting up Thursday's Coffee Hour but I was at an emergency doctor's appointment with my brother. He has sores on his only foot and leg and we have been at the doctor's offices for the last six weeks. Fortunately they think it is under control and that they will heal if he stays off the foot.

In my intermittent ongoing OT series on visual populist? art I have now arrived at the beginning point that triggered both this series and my graphic art so called career. The Russians are coming! Not now but then. So I was sick of being a waitress and went to art school as I was a half ass good artist who wanted to make a buck or two.

I was going to do part two of the soup recipes but unfortunately I hurt my back and can’t sit at the computer for more than a couple of minutes. My Doctor put me on new medicine and my body is getting used to it and I fell yesterday pulling a muscle in the back.

As an artist since childhood one of the hardest questions to answer is how I come up with ideas for my artwork or jewelry. I have been on a new jewelry making spree and thought maybe I could try and explain how I go about the creative process with one of the new necklaces. The necklace is called Sleeping Fox.

Language is a prerequisite of civilization; literature is a consequence. Fine writing explores, models, and sometimes leads culture. At bottom, however, literature is talk—sounds spoken or written.

Talk has limitations. Vocabulary is ever shifting and is shared imperfectly. Talk is necessarily linear, one word at a time, excellent for lists, describing events in time, cause and effect, but it is clumsy at describing, say, the New York subway system or the liberation of first love.

My little tuxedo Princess Pixie has decided that Mommy is going to be okay so she is back sleeping in my room. We are still trying to figure out exactly what happened on the 11th. Reid seems to think it may not have been a seizure that I just blacked out for a moment maybe during an asthma attack. I had obviously started to get up most likely to get my inhaler.

Back in the late 90's I started doing graphic art on the computer. With the severity of the arthritis I knew I could no longer do the quality of art I used to be able to do with brushes and ink. Many times I just play around on my computer just to see what the computer will come up with.

I am saddened and outraged by corruption in the Sanders-Clinton primary. Truth vs. Lies: the lies won, in the short term anyway. Outrage, however, is a thin substitute for action that springs from compassion and big mind.
