Carbon Fee & Dividend; James Hansen is still fighting the good fight.
Submitted by tle on Tue, 04/26/2016 - 9:05amJames Hansen is still speaking out for a carbon fee & dividend system. In an interview with Yale 360 a few weeks ago, he said
The one thing, which is most important, is the assertion by the fossil fuel industry and the people who support them, that it would be expensive to solve the problem, is absolutely wrong. There have been economic studies that show if you add a gradually rising fee to fossil fuels, by collecting a fee on fossil fuel companies at the source, the domestic mine, or port of entry, and if you distribute the money to the public, an equal amount to all legal residents, it would actually spur the economy. Submitted by Older and Wiser Now on Tue, 04/26/2016 - 6:07amI am one of the tiny percentage of women who was blessed to receive a late-term abortion when I needed it. “Blessed” is a strange word to use about a procedure I literally cried throughout, but the truth is, that D&C freed me from my own private hell. Other women, mostly invisible to the public, are not so blessed. Heartbroken and grieving, they are forced by law to face additional torments.
