It's amazing how little has changed

Human beings are a habitual creature. We love habits. We form them and then it becomes amazingly difficult to break them. The most arduous thing about a habit is the initial steps of making a habit an actual habit.
Howdy folks! This is an article that I wrote back in 2012 when I was posting at another website. It came to mind last Friday when we were having a discussion in The Evening Blues of an article about certain delusional congressmen who would like to add an additional branch to the military services - the Space Corps. Space is currently the purview of the Air Force.
As you will see in the article that I am posting here in deference to those who would prefer not to give Kos' House of Hillarity a click, space has been on the minds of those infected with military madness for quite a while, as they intend it to be the launch pad for planetary full spectrum dominance.
The United States and Russia brokered a ceasefire in southern Syria a few days ago and it appears to be holding.
This is good news for almost everyone. Almost everyone.
The stock market has been on an incredible run, gaining $4 Trillion just since the election.
So stocks are rising because every Tom, Dick, and Harry has been buying equities, right?
Wrong.

I wrote a diary with a very similar title back in September of 2015 about government data collection agencies not counting transgender citizens.
It should not be a surprise that the Trump administration wants to double down on that trend. If they don't count us, they can pretend we don't exist.
It appears that “I mean, have you seen the other guys?” wasn't the final product.
It's been eight months since that catastrophic election defeat and the Dems, just like the Hillary campaign, still don't stand for something.
Subtitle: the meaning of life
Once upon a time (now), there were (are) two girls. The girls are sisters. We shall call them Girl 1 and Girl A, G1 and GA respectively. Looking through the Generation scope, it is apparent that both G1 and GA must be somebody's daughters. Regressing backward one generation, it is apparent that G1 and GA are somebody's granddaughters. Etc.
...after I finished helping build it.
To add insult to injury, Azazello shoved me toward the car repeatedly, with the butt of his rifle, and loaded me into the car.
