Bracing for a heat wave the next few days, mid to high 90s. Low humidity though, thank goodness.
Will spend it up at the farm, working in the cool of mornings. Then lazing by the river with an occasional dip.
Then, after dinner, more working around the place till twilight, about 9:30 pm.
Got a text message from some outfit called Friends for Peace wanting to know my opinion of Israel. I texted back that I had no comment. But he/she/AI pressed me for an opinion. I kept repeating "No comment". After two or three more changeup questions, like "Do you think Americans are favorable to Israel?", it became clear this was probably a bot I was responding to.
I tagged the number as spam and then looked up Friends of Peace online. Turns out it was a hasbara operation, part of the new 730 million dollar campaign to tweek the brains of ordinary Americans into thinking of Israel as some kind of good.

We hit 102degF
yesterday, here south of Denver. "Rain" is supposedly coming in on the monsoonal flow, though, so the next few days will be cooler. And with a little luck, perhaps the moisture from the rain will actually make it to the ground, instead of flashing off into steam at eye-level.
One can only hope. It is biblically dry around here, and there are daily vegetation fires along the edges of the public ashtrays that some people call "roads"...

I just read this
article about the assertion that "Israel has a right to exist", and how this runs against international law. In fact, no country has a right to exist. Examples: USSR, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Tanganyika, East Germany, Zanzibar, and United Arab Republic ceased to exist from the time the author worked in the UN, 1980s until 2023.
This is not an opinion piece as much as it is a lesson in international law.
