Bernie at the Democratic Convention: Let Us Not Talk Falsely Now

The lies of corporate politicians are the foundational cause of every crisis America is facing. Let us not talk falsely now is Bernie’s message to the despised political establishment, to the depraved economic establishment, to the degenerate media establishment, to the degraded military establishment, it’s his message to everyone in power, to everyone in authority at every level of society, to the police and the judges, to business owners and employers, to every American trapped in this twilight struggle for survival as the pursuit of corporate profit strangles the economy and the GOP casts the shadow of fascism across the entire political system.

Let us not talk falsely now.

Bernie has said that throughout all of his years in public service, he’s said it in the House of Representatives, he’s said it in the Senate, he said it when Glass-Steagall was being repealed, when the Patriot Act was being passed and the invasion of Iraq was being plotted and the bailout of Wall Street was being perpetrated. He’s been saying it in every primary state, and every Democratic voter, every Republican voter, every Independent voter needs to listen to him.

Why?

I’ll tell you why.

The hour is getting late.

That’s why.

The consequences of economic injustice are pounding on the doors of America, they’re pounding on the doors of Europe, they’re pounding on the doors of Asia, they’re standing on the doorstep of the world with catastrophic climate change and resource wars and genocide and famine lined up right behind them. Your name is on their list of victims, my name is on their list of victims, everyone’s name is on their list of victims.

John F. Kennedy . . .

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

Hillary people like to talk about Reality. Well here’s some Reality for them—political revolution is the only way to prevent violent revolution, which would inevitably trigger reactionary violence and unleash the chaos and carnage of counterrevolution and civil wars across this country and across this world.

Hillary supporters are in no position to be lecturing anyone about Reality. They expect us to believe in the amazing powers of the Incremental Change Fairy, who dwells in the Magic Kingdom of Centrism, where hundreds of millions of dollars in blatant bribes have no effect on anyone at all, where Triangulation is the Only Way and politics is pay to play and the destruction of the Middle Class just happened to fall out of the sky one day.

We’re told Hillary will get things done. Well we’ve seen how Hillary gets things done, and we’ve seen who she gets things done with.

No reason to get excited, the thief he kindly spoke . . .

there are many here among us, who know Dodd-Frank is but a joke.

Bernie has been up on the Watchtower his entire life in public service, he called out a warning when the riders of NAFTA were approaching, when the riders of Glass-Steagall repeal were approaching, when the riders of the Patriot Act were approaching, when the riders of regime change in Iraq were approaching, when the riders of the Wall Street bailout were approaching, when the riders of the TPP were approaching. He called out warning after warning from up on the ramparts, while those more and better Democrats I’ve heard so much about took turns lowering the drawbridge to let the damn riders in.

Let us not talk falsely now.

The hour is getting late.

Bernie is taking that message to the contested convention in Philadelphia. The Democratic establishment needs to hear it, the delegates need to hear it, Hillary Rodham Clinton and her bought-and-paid-for superdelegates damn well need to hear it, and they’re going to hear it whether they want to or not.

Kos talks about the math.

Hillary people talk about the math.

Well THIS is the math that matters . . .

Too many lies have been told.

Too many people have been exploited.

Too many innocents have died in wars for profit.

This election can empower us to put an end to all of it.

To another! I moved to Florida last November to be near siblings after my parents passed away. I registered immediately so I could vote for Bernie, though ; )

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem was said by Eldridge Cleaver. I remember it as a touchstone in the 60s. It really doesn't go out-of-date. Here are some links:

The aphorism is a misquotation of Eldridge Cleaver. The correct (full) quote is: 'There is no more neutrality in the world. You either have to be part of the solution, or you're going to be part of the problem.'

and this looks like the best progressive somewhere to come into existence since the Big Bang.

15 billion years is a long time to wait for a good progressive website, but our patience has been rewarded!
