Planet Wars

Riffin' off of Lookouts Weekly Watch last Sunday, a lot of good info there in the videos. Just finished up with the last of them last night and can't get them out of my mind.
The world is changing before our very eyes, and for the better I believe. Not so much for us Americans and the West, but for the rest of the world (RoW).
Pepe Escobar has done it again. His report and tour of the New Silk Road was as good or better than the one he did a few years ago, the previous one involved only half of it.
It is still one hell of a long trading route.
I try to imagine peoples and animals traversing that ground on foot, carrying goods and food and water.
Once this infrastructure is completed it will, again, change the world.
Back then the world was largely the great land mass stretching from the eastern shores of China to the fiords of Scandinavia.
Today its effects will be felt on every continent, and due to the nature of the goods (rare earths), will effect the exploration of space.
China and Russia are plunging ahead in their respective space programs, with China expected to reach human settlement on the moon by the end of this decade.
With their control of the RE market, is doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure who will own space.
Pardon the pun.
Imagine, all the great space movies being revamped with Asian characters. In real time.
The stupidity of our leaders knows no bounds, literally.
Thread is open.
Still can't pronounce Renminbi.

Howdy pardner
.
Let's just hope the foolish west does not try
to destroy the new silk road. It is an important
artery in the Asian continent. But, knowing the
geed and jealousy of western countries, the
competition may be too much to ignore.
National security and all that jabber.
The phonetical pronunciation is ren-min-bee
with the accent on the last bit.
Zionism is a social disease
I'm sure
there will ample Air Defenses all along the road. It is too far inland for the US Navy to reach with its weaponry, and ICBMs will be easy to shoot down.
The deep inland route is the beauty of the NSR.
And I'll just stay with calling it the Yuan.
Hope the weather dries out for ya. Have a good day.
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.
Cuba is a dead horse, stop beating it.
Hola e1, what the Cap'n said, also, alternatively
wan (as in pale) spelled Yuan.

We've got some really stupid leaders. There is no telling what they might resort to.
I'm banking on (no pun intended) their lust for life and fear of death to go nuclear. Being the true cowards they are, I don't think they trust their own personal bunkers to protect themselves.
And surviving the aftermath in a world gone irridated has got to be on their twisted minds.
However, did I mention stupidity?
Thanks for stopping by.

Find it interesting

how the ISS is falling apart and yet the Chinese have
a fairly new space station orbiting. Probably Russia
and India as well. Once again uncle sam is falling behind.
Zionism is a social disease
Russia still has
a space tug on the drawing board. It's supposed to ferry materials to the moon and Mars for pre-positioning future colonies.
We are soooo far behind!
Stupid leaders. Ceding off planet to other nations.
You'd think their sense of greed would kick in and jump all over the wealth surrounding our planet.
But nooooo!
Neither Russia nor China is our enemy.
Neither Iran nor Venezuela are threatening America.

The people's currency
大家好 hello everyone.
Renminbi 人民币; pinyin: Rénmínbì; lit. 'People's Currency' is not really used in spoken mandarin, it's more of a term maybe used in a formal exchange context, like an economics report. Maybe at an exhange? Yuan 元 is the common term for the currency. Qian is the term for money in the marketplace in the spoken interrogative. as in how much does this cost? 多少钱 ‹ duōshǎo qián ›
This is probably the most useful lesson for a tourist in China:
Price and purchases in Chinese - Lesson 14
The Wikipedia has a useful chart on its renminbi entry.
Yesterday, I was watching Little Chinese Everywhere woman at a jade market, I think it was in Xinjiang, that was entertaining to try to follow the bargaining back and forth. Everywhere she goes she's buying food from the street vendors and small shops and restaurants.
South Koreans have space movies. I don't think they have much of a space program. I watched the Silent Sea on Netflix some time ago, and it creeped me out (sci fi). I think they went to a station on the moon where everyone had disappeared.
There was a SpaceX launch yesterday from Texas. So I feel better because I thought I had missed a flight from Florida which would have been very visible because it was unusually clear, beautiful weather for a change, cool.

Pepe is producing a documentary on his trip right? I wondered how it would be released.
I've been following China issues on youtube and fooling around with the language. I like 7 minute Chinese because that's about how long my attention span lasts. But watching news reports and analysis (in English of course) since the 2019 Hong Kong uprising, I've noticed my regular sources on youtube repeatedly drop off the algorithm. Remember Adrian Zenz the Uyghur genocide propaganda source? Yesterday, I made a list of all the youtube channels I could remember or find that I had watched before and wrote them down in a notebook so they don't go down the memory hole.
Thanks for the OT E1!

Thanks for the useful tutorial
on the Yuan and it's proper use. I've been using it for a long time. Have been picking up physical Yuan's for a few years now in anticipation of a future visit there. And as a potential replacement for a collapsed dollar, which I shutter to think.
I can still remember the Japanese sci-fi flics from the 60s, really crude to the point of amusement in a hilarious kinda way. The giant creature features were the best to laugh at.
Poor Tokyo.
I imagine Pepe will release a full video of his trip sometime soon. He described the trip pretty vividly in the interview.
His video years ago showed stunning terrain and peoples.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Well, I said I'd be back, so here I is. I see that Soryang has
clarified the currency thing and more to boot. Very good to know. The way I learned it was that Renminbi is what is put on and in documents and that Yuan it what is is worth.
A somewhat similar idea.
not too much to add today about anything. I am ahead of schedulie and falling behind anyway, I think the schedule was overly ambitious.
Had big rain yesterday, and for most of the day, so some had to have oaked in. That's good news for the environment, if nothing else.
I really profoundly dislike all the
talkpropaganda avout bringing the Rus to the table, or getting them to negotiate. They've been there often enough, and the Ztwit has neveer been willing to negotiate when they get there, insisting on something pretty near complete Rus surrender and withdrawal. Why take the trouble to arrange and attend meetings when one party is just there to get their photo taken? Beyond that, even if the little shit did wind up agreeing to something, he is not remotely credible and almost certain to almost immediately violate any agreement he entered into.Missed Pepe's vid the other day, have to find it and find time to check it out. Thanks for the reminder.

Just like it looks ren-min-bee or simpler just say kuai
Lot of bummed out people over the mideast peace. Who to bitch about now? People who love terrorists never satisfied.
We are all terrorists
or potential terrorists in the eyes of (((some))).
Have not heard the term kuai used before. Damn, another one I can't pronounce.
Thanks for the post.

Worth a read. There is nothing that I disagree with.
The rest of the tweet:
Well said!
The Zionist propaganda machine and media monopoly work well. The IDF has never stopped bombing Gaza, plus they've hired Islamic gangs to inflict more violence against the surviving Palestinians. Some "cease fire".

I have no disagreement
with this, especially the opinion highlighted in yellow.
