Friday Night Photos Travelogue Pt2 Edition

Welcome to Friday Night Photos everyone. Your once a week break from the daily madness of the crazy world we live in. Post any photos, memes, music, or whatever else you find of interest that helps you escape the madness.

One of the photo stops I made while I was in the Bay Area was at the Blackhawk Museum in Danville. When the museum opened in 1988 it was devoted exclusively to the automobile, but over the last ten years the menu has expanded to include exhibits of African art, Chinese art, the American West, and nature.
Tonight's menu item is the American West. The exhibit is split into two halves. One half is devoted to the Plains Indians and the other half to the white settlers. From a visual perspective I didn't find much of interest on the pale face half of the exhibit so all but the last photo are from the Plains Indian side, which I found to be more interesting.

this is a video I put together about 10 years ago when The Evening Blues was still over at Daily Kos.

@QMS
I don't know if my faith would be re-established in health care if my medicine woman arrived in that get-up, but I sure would appreciate and admire all the work that went into making it.

Hi all, Hey SP!

GREAT photos SP! Very cool artifacts! Awesome stuff. Always great to see. Love their craftwork! It is always hard to shoot in displays too. At least to me.

Thanks for the OT. Back in a few with some pixels...

I had a little help from Photoshop to assist in cleaning up some of the annoying lights and glare.

Hi all,

Here's a couple cars at the 'show' last weekend that might have been somewhat Halloween themed. Or it could just be the people here in this quirky townlet.

A '72 Monte Carlo.

Note rib count and jaw structure eliminates hominid.

Thanks again for the OT, SP!

If I had time I grab "Apache" for a song... Wink

happy trails all!

I like the Halloween theme and occupants from your locale car show. Our weekly locale car show season just ended and won't start up again until April.

Imagine seeing someone with that long bone off the heel.

If anyone looks at my jawbone after death they will expect that I went through some significant pain. Still has the wires in many places too. Yeah it hurt. Best thing for jaw pain is losing all your teeth.

Only hurts now when I try to eat chicken or chew gum.

mother was born in OK 20 years after statehood. She was of German descent with a very heavy sprinkling of Native American Cherokee mixed in. Man, the stories she and my maternal grandmother would tell, especially of the Tragic Trail of Tears. I grew up with a great love of nature and enormous respect for all Native Americans, be they Sioux, Cheyenne, Cherokee, Seminole, Pueblo, Nez Perce, etc. They were smarter than the whites for sure. I love their clothing, jewelry, philosophies, healers, you name it. Then, on my Dad's side: 3rd generation Irish. The Irish were not initially welcomed warmly by the WASPs. What a Heinz 57 mix. I'm proud of it. Smile I also like the Halloween cars c/o dystopian. Welp, thank god, the election ends Tuesday!! I voted early with no hassles. I am sick of the for-profit media political noize, that's for sure! Hope all is well with everyone. Rec'd!!

Small world. My mom was first gen German and my dad was Irish. The Native Americans understood the importance of living in harmony with the land and to make sure it was there for future generations. Us pale faces, not so much. I'll drop off my ballot on Tue at the drop box at the locale branch library.
