I'm asking myself, Why? Why lie?

I wish the answer was more complex, but at the time I believe it was simply all about the stock market and we headed into the election. Trump's been under a major siege for a very long time and the soaring stock market was a key defense for him. A symbol that proved he was right.

(When, in fact, the Market is a symbol of everything that is wrong with American Predatory Capitalism. It's an overstatement of value for the Orwellian vaporware that top the charts, which harvest the human mind, then sell the harvest it to corporations to exploit. Yet another bubble inflated by American greed and delusional fevers.)

Trump's early reactions to the pandemic was that it was another hoax to trip him up. Or a flu that only foreigners get. At that time in early February, Americans were trying to ignore it, too, and there wasn't little in the news about the pandemic. Many people who heard about it just dove into denial. More than anything else, denial made the US especially vulnerable to infection.

While Trump epitomizes Exceptionalism, Incompetence, and Capitalism at work in America, but he didn't invent it. That combo has been flying high throughout the US Terror War Years.

This is certainly insightful:

I read the Covid-19 medical studies and clinical papers, and the literature does consistently cycles back to HIV viral experience for context. Have you noticed that the HIV community is not much impacted by the SARS-CoV-2 virus? That's what I've noticed in my casual anecdotal survey.

That's where I think this is heading, and if you follow my line of thought you may think as I do, that no vaccine is on its way. (By the way, Dr. Anthony Fauci was there in 1981 as we learned to Treat HIV-AIDS, not end it.)

Dr. Fauci pops up at a lot of interesting moments in recent history. He's been involved in some sketchy areas, like bio-weapons development. Doesn't mean he is not a good scientist. The fact that the major institutions in the US public health system are tied to Health Care Corporations should not come as a surprise — when the House, Senate, President, and most of his appointees primarily serve the Corporations and the Wall Street War Profiteers.

I'm skeptical about a vaccine — although that is where all the money is right now. I notice the development trend is toward safety — but not efficacy. There is no time to prove efficacy. The vaccines that emerge early will likely offer only short term protection. Russia will probably be the first country to begin public inoculations. In most countries, the public will not be charged for vaccinations.

The treatment answer will probably come next, starting with repurposed pharmaceuticals, antivirals that can carry a patent. Researchers are also tearing though every possible substance on the planet to see what stops the virus. There are many approaches. I'm tracking enhancements to the body's own defenses. This has really opened my eyes to inflammation and gut health, and American's chronic deficiencies in nutrients that they did not have 50 years ago. Covid-19 exploits those deficiencies. The country needs a whole food nutrition policy, stat.

Trump knew the virus was very deadly. "5% death rate while the regular flu kills 1%." That's what the President said.

Trump knew that young people were susceptible. "Open the schools," was his directive nevertheless.

We now can hear him say what he knew to be true, on tape to Bob Woodward, way back in early February. And again in March. 18 Interviews. Conversations.

Meanwhile, he and his team concocted a deadly brew of lies and fantasies. "The Virus will disappear. It will be gone in April. It will be burnt out in the heat of summer. etc."

I'm asking myself, Why? Why lie? The easy answer is that downplaying the virus is his plan to get himself re-elected. Another barely plausible explanation is that the President didn't want to cause a panic.

There are other explanations.

I've been seeing this across the net, and it's a bit misleading.
Panic is a tool of manipulation. It wasn't that El Trumpo is adverse to panic, he works night and day to create it. This wasn't going to be a panic that would benefit him, so he tried to suppress it.
Panic over fake issues, like "caravans of immigrants heading our way" or "Antifa radicals threatening our beloved statues of slave owners", are a powerful propaganda tool. Panic over real issues like Covid or climate change are nearly impossible to manage to the advantage of the wealthy and powerful, so they're suppressed.

We’re seeing a huge fight between the different factions of government to see who gets to play president.

"here's my query.

Why are we hearing so many consistent stories about how the upcoming election could be contested. It’s out there from Reuters and from AP News (I could not find anything from AFP.) It's been out there for a while. What's the underlying message? Inquiring minds want to know."

Well, it's no secret that Dems such as Hillary are saying Biden should contest the election results pretty much no matter what. They are trying to program people with the idea that any apparent Trump win is actually illegitimate as would be any attempt by Trump to challenge irregularities or fraud.

This makes sense in the context of there being an active, rolling coup to get rid of Trump and, as the article below explains, the aim is to get rid of him one way or another regardless of the outcome of the election.

In fact, Democrats losing the election is consistent with the above aims if opinion can be swayed to the effect that he won illegitimately and is illegally holding on to power if he does not concede.

This is definitely in line with previously executed Soros-connected "color revolutions" such as that which brought the fascist Biden-friendly regime to power in Ukraine in 2004-2005. And the "Transition Integrity Project" which is what a lot of the MSM coverage of this centers on has definite Soros connections, as well as to a raft of neocons and never-Trumpers...

Whether or not all rioters are Democratic voters, they increasingly are associated with Joe Biden’s campaign in the minds of voters who fear violence is coming to their suburb.

This rolling campaign of anti-police street violence is killing Biden’s bid for the presidency — just look at private polling in crucial swing states such as Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, where law and order has become a decisive issue.

So why don’t Democratic leaders do more to condemn the violence and call for calm?

To understand their inaction, you need to step back and see street violence as one element of a coordinated “playbook” to dislodge President Trump, regardless of the outcome of the election.

This is the thesis of political theorist Dr. Darren Beattie, a former Duke University professor and White House official.

The playbook is straight from the strategies the US government has deployed in so-called “Color Revolutions” in Eastern European countries, such as Ukraine or Belarus, to remove “authoritarian” leaders deemed hostile to American interests.

In a series of articles at Revolver.news, Beattie’s thesis provides a compelling comparison between Deep State efforts to remove President Trump and techniques used by the State Department, covert agencies and allied NGOs to influence, or overturn, elections in foreign countries.

BLM-Antifa’s “mostly peaceful protests” are America’s version of Ukraine’s Orange Revolution, where civil unrest was fomented on the streets to oust a Kremlin-backed authoritarian.

In an interview, Beattie noted “strong parallels” between “color revolutions” overseas and the “sustained coordinated coup against Trump” — from the Russia collusion hoax to his impeachment over Ukraine.

“The very same regime change professionals … assigned to overthrow ‘authoritarians’ in Eastern Europe are the ones running this operation against Trump. It is the same playbook run by the same people.”

The Color Revolution playbook starts by creating the narrative of an authoritarian, illegitimate leader. Then you foment unrest on the streets, aimed at provoking an authoritarian crackdown that can be used to mobilize further unrest.

You undermine people’s faith in the election process, setting up a contested outcome that turns into street fighting.

At the same time, you wage relentless “lawfare” to contest ballots. Ultimately the military may be called upon to dislodge the incumbent.

An added twist for America is that Democrats have used the pandemic to institute mass, unsolicited mail-in ballots, which historically are open to fraud and coercion, an experiment which will leave the election result undecided on Nov. 3.

It would be easy to dismiss Beattie’s idea as a wild conspiracy theory, except anti-Trump forces are doing their best to play along.

Take the Transition Integrity Project, a bipartisan war-gaming exercise created by academics, former Clinton and Obama operatives, never-Trumper Republicans, journalists and diplomats, “out of concern that the Trump administration may seek to manipulate, ignore, undermine or disrupt the 2020 presidential election and transition process.”

Project co-founder Rosa Brooks, former special counsel at the George Soros-linked Open Society Foundations in New York, laid out four scenarios for the election: a big Biden win; a narrow Biden win; a period of extended uncertainty as in 2000; and a Trump Electoral College win but popular vote loss, as in 2016.

Democrats (are) determined to treat November's election as illegitimate — unless they win.
Only with the scenario in which Biden wins an overwhelming victory is there a “relatively orderly transfer of power,” Brooks wrote last week in the Washington Post.

“Every other scenario we looked at involved street-level violence and political crisis … massive disinformation campaigns, violence in the streets and a constitutional impasse.”

Straight out of the Color Revolution playbook.

The aim is to lay the groundwork to reject the election results if Trump wins, with the expectation that he will not concede defeat and will have to be dislodged by military means.

Again, this sounds insane, I know.

But this is the scenario posed by two retired Army officers, John Nagl and Paul Yingling, in a respectable military publication, Defense One, last month. In an open letter to Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley, they suggested the 82nd Airborne could be used to remove Trump “by force” from the White House in January.

Hillary Clinton echoed the sentiment: “Biden should not concede under any circumstances.” Biden has said he is “absolutely convinced” the military would “escort” Trump from the White House if he refused to leave office.

The narrative grew so persistent that Milley felt compelled to issue a letter to Congress declaring the military will not help settle disputes if the election results are contested.
