Warren's people go Full Hillary
Just hours after Senator Warren declared herself a victim because some random Sanders volunteer posted something negative (but true) about Warren, her campaign staff went into full Hillaryesque lying smear mode.
The stakes were high when Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren met at Warren's apartment in Washington, DC, one evening in December 2018. The longtime friends knew that they could soon be running against each other for president.
The two agreed that if they ultimately faced each other as presidential candidates, they should remain civil and avoid attacking one another, so as not to hurt the progressive movement. They also discussed how to best take on President Donald Trump, and Warren laid out two main reasons she believed she would be a strong candidate: She could make a robust argument about the economy and earn broad support from female voters.
Sanders responded that he did not believe a woman could win.
The description of that meeting is based on the accounts of four people: two people Warren spoke with directly soon after the encounter, and two people familiar with the meeting. That evening, Sanders expressed frustration at what he saw as a growing focus among Democrats on identity politics, according to one of the people familiar with the conversation. Warren told Sanders she disagreed with his assessment that a woman could not win, three of the four sources said.
Three of the four!?! What did the fourth say?
Of course this is total Bernie Bros bullsh*t smear.
It just shows that Warren has some really awful people on her team.
Sanders denied the characterization of the meeting in a statement to CNN.
"It is ludicrous to believe that at the same meeting where Elizabeth Warren told me she was going to run for president, I would tell her that a woman couldn't win," Sanders said. "It's sad that, three weeks before the Iowa caucus and a year after that private conversation, staff who weren't in the room are lying about what happened. What I did say that night was that Donald Trump is a sexist, a racist and a liar who would weaponize whatever he could. Do I believe a woman can win in 2020? Of course! After all, Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump by 3 million votes in 2016."
Let's imagine how this conversation went.
Liz: "I'm running for president."
Bernie: "Women are losers."
Liz: "You're cute. Let's be friends."
Warren needs to step up and tell the truth.
But the media has a narrative that they won't give up.
The conversation also illustrates the skepticism among not only American voters but also senior Democratic officials that the country is ready to elect a woman as president, several years after one clinched a major political party's nomination for president for the first time. Many Democrats believe sexism played a role in Hillary Clinton's defeat in the 2016 general election, and voters say they are torn about whether to try again to put a woman in the White House in 2020.
The revelation that Sanders expressed skepticism that Warren could win the presidency because she is a woman is particularly noteworthy now, given that Warren is the lone female candidate at the top of the Democratic field. And notably, their meeting in December 2018 came just weeks after a record number of women had been elected to the House of Representatives, helping to deliver the majority to the Democrats.
It's not a "revelation". It's a smear. There's a difference.

It's Desperation Time on Media Row
ByeDone is visibly failing, Warren is flagging, Sanders is surging, and TPTB are DESPERATE DESPERATE DESPERATE to get one of the first two shoved down our throats no matter how strongly we object.
If they succeed, it's another four years of Trump - and they're not so averse to that either. ANYONE or ANYTHING but Bernie!
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
The DNC is the worst.
Has anyone gotten a response from Warren yet?
As to if Bernie actually said what these anonymous sources claim? Of course he didn't. But she needs to be held to account especially after she way too eagerly went along with the fake news story about Bernie's canvassing script.
I thought for awhile that maybe this is a Biden/Obama ploy to paint her in a corner. But it sure looks like Tom Watson, co-founder of Men for Hillary (along with Peter Daou who has since come to his senses and is now an ardent Berner), is running with the story and has jumped on the Warren bandwagon.
I don't think Watson has any fondess for Obama or Biden. And the whole smear job sure seems reminiscent of the stinky politics exemplified by Clinton Inc.'s favorite smear merchant David Brock.
Of course, there is the possibility that the smear campaign was launched to ensure that neither Bernie, Biden or Warren gets the necessary 51% of delegates on the first ballot, thereby allowing for the possibility of Hillary to ride in on her high horse to "unite" the party with the help of the superdelegates on the second ballot.

Seems rather coordinated to me.
Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.
But on the private conversation claims?
Yea, I saw that Warren bought into the fake news about the canvassing script (of course, who knows if even that was planted by her people?).
But she really, really, really needs to be confronted about the claims from the four staffers about Bernie and her private conversation. Unless I missed something (news keeps breaking fast), it seems she's keeping her mouth shut and not affirming or denying the claims which are obviously nonsense.
I got you

I know, right?
It's very creepy how many people have just gone along with this new and rather horrendous set of cultural changes.

Gaslighting the country.
It has been shown in polls time and time again that voters have no problem with a woman president. Being female and/or non-white is an asset in a Democratic primary in 2020. One of the main reasons Warren supporters cite for backing her is her gender. It's as disingenuous as saying Paul Tsongas lost the 1992 primary because OMG, America just isn't ready for a Greek Orthodox President!
But right on cue the establishment psychopaths blame the voters when they start to falter. Hillary, Kamala, Cory, Julian, now Liz. How comforting it must be to rationalize your rejection by millions of people as their own fault because they just weren't READY for someone of your stature, depth, and brilliance.
Well now Buzzfeed is saying
that people are saying that Warren said to them that Bernie said ... http://archive.today/zhlf7
A schoolyard game of telephone is more reliable than the MSM.
Elizabeth Warren's campaign is over
Liz has been losing steam since the Democratic Debate on October 15. That night we found out that AOC has joined Team Bernie.
Liz's impotent rage and frantic desperation has been visible since and today's polls show Bernie and Biden strong and climbing while Liz and Pete are slipping.
Over is over. Lying and smearing Bernie will not get her a single new vote.
Let me quote Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City: "Sometimes you're so over you need a new word for over."

Good response to Trump, but
it probably doesn't mean he's going to lose.
It probably means that the Democrats--who are not do nothings, if only we were so lucky!--are going to set their election fraud machinery to GO.

So far so good. And then...
Gee this worked so well in 2016
Do these people just ignore the 92+ million registered voters, that did not vote in 2016?

The standard claim is that
they either don't care or are too lazy to vote.
That's not my experience. When I talk to non-managerial people who don't vote it's either because both parties suck or they figure the election is rigged.
Blatting about that Joe Biden is the popular choice just reinforces their views and further discourages them from voting. I do know women who voted for HRC for the first time because they wanted a woman President. And black people who voted for Obama for the same reason. I also know black people who followed Illinois politics, didn't like or trust Obama, but voted for him anyway just to have a black President. I don't blame them. If I were black I probably would do the same. I might have voted for Guiliani on that basis if the Dem candidate was not significantly better and I definitely do NOT like Guiliani. How much more powerful the tug for people historically marginalized and held as inferior.
I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.
Bernie wasn't on the ballot
I was apart of the twitter Op, OpDeny270 , appealing to the presidential electors to cast their vote for Bernie.

Oh, Jesus Christ.
Can we just admit that American presidential campaign politics is nothing more than a smear game? Unless your name is Bernie Sanders or Tulsi Gabbard, that is. That's why they get smeared the most, because they do so little smearing of others.
N.B. The truth doesn't count as a smear.

Here's another good one.
Warren's camp caught fabricating texts from Bernie supporters.
The texter's number is from a Warren call hub.
DOH!
This new 'offensive' has all the fingerprints of a David Brock special.
Not quite Casey Champagne level yet, but give them time.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
Careful
It’s a call center. The two campaigns use the same system.
We can’t save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed.

Which doesn't actually help Warren's case.
Just makes the Warren self-trolling scenario eminently plausible.
Also, remember when Bernie and Hillary used the same voter outreach system in 2016?
Remember how the Hillbots just couldn't help using the 'shared' system to screw with Bernie?
Like deja vu all over again....

Took a straw poll in the Bollox household today

Remember
Elizabeth Warren still continues to consult the would be queen/empress and her clueless lackeys for "advice",
Oh Lordy where to start with this?
The Obama Hillary fights were epic and we haven't seen anything close to them since then. But here's Obama going after Hillary for her Iraq war vote...
...and then he says it shows how she might vote in the future regarding war. Hey wasn't it Obama that took us from 2 to 7 wars? Yes indeedy it 'twas.
Obama provided lots of lessons! n/t
But it’s not about that
It’s about trashing Bernie’s brand. There is this persistent canard that he is egotistical and some kind of evil commie fifth column and this is simply an attempt to build up that narrative.
We can’t save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed.
- Greta Thunberg
My experience of speaking with other Americans about Bernie
is limited, but even so, I get the sense that ‘egotistical’ is the lable that turns otherwise rational people against him. It’s all orchestrated of course, because that is not true.
It's the Karl Rove/Lee Atwater method:
Accuse your opponent of your own flaws before he can accuse you of them.
It works particularly well if the person is actually the diametric opposite of whatever flaw you say they have. Then they won't expect the attack and will have formulated no defense. Like Kerry being called a coward in battle. Whatever else Kerry may be, there's nothing wrong with how he did his military service, and he's obviously not a coward. So the Kerry campaign didn't prepare for it. And had no idea how to deal with it, because there is no good way to deal with it, only more or less bad ways.

Edit/Add:
I can’t think of anyone,

Looks like even her own supporters realize she royally screwed up:

She would have retained her integrity.

I completely stop caring about Warren
when...
1. she wouldn't endorse Bernie in 2015/16
2. She didn't support the water Protectors at NoDAPL protests, as Bernie did
3. She was a republican
4. Her DNA test which turn out to be, what less than 1/64th to something like 1/1000th Native American
5. (which I think is most important) when she said "she a capitalist to her bones".
Earth ship to Sen. Warren, Capitalism is killing humanity. Just saying darling....

Re number 4
0.1% still shows some ancestry. Mine shows zero.
One part in a thousand is still a possible full blooded ancestor ten generations back, i.e around the 1700-1820. A lot more than people who proudly say they have royal blood because a genealogist traced them back to one of Henry II's many bastards.
I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.
Or Henry I, who was even more of a Tireless Tomcat :-)
Actually, a fair number of people can trace their ancestry quite legitimately to Edward III. He had a whole passel of sons and daughters, and there weren't enough other Royals for all of them to marry, so some had to marry a step down...and then the next generation married another step down...and in just a few generations they were marrying untitled gentry, and in one or two more merchants and professionals, and so on.
Edward III has been called "The Father of the English Middle Class", with good reason.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
Good points!

And she gave Trump a standing ovation
because he said we were all capitalists. Yay!
I guess that's enough to bury the hatchet. I mean, yeah, he's an existential threat to our democracy and all, but
Yay capitalism!
And he's a Putin puppet/compromised/Manchurian candidate/mole, but
Yay capitalism!
Also, Yay war! Let's give the existential threat more money in his military budget.

I was going to vote for Bernie.
But now that I know he thinks women can't win, I'm going to vote for Bernie. Because I'm sure he never said any such thing.
Scratched Warren off my list because of this.
On top of the dark money/big donors, it's too much. I'm still sure she has a thing about banksters but I cannot vote for her for personality reasons. Policy isn't the only thing to grade a candidate on.
Backtracking on MfA was the first strike. Taking the dark money - strike two.
Lying about the meeting - Strike Three and you're out. VP, whatever you're out. Maybe - just maybe - Secretary of Treasury under Bernie because of the banker enmity. But with a liar, who knows for sure.
I don't agree 100% with Tulsi, but I'm sure she's not a liar. I've met many liars in my life. Half of it I worked in Big Business, the other half for Federal Government. Oh, yeah. I know liars.
Why am I sure that Bernie isn't lying about the meeting? Because it was really dumb thing to say and Bernie isn't dumb. Maybe naive to trust the DNC in 2016, but not stupid.
I listened to Bernie for years on the Thom Hartmann show. Bernie's not dumb.
I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.
There's a reason for this:
her campaign staff went into full Hillaryesque lying smear mode.
I bet you the same people, at least at the upper levels (big donors, Beltway consultants, etc.) are trying to get Warren elected as were trying to get Hillary elected.
Or at least they're trying to make sure she gets the nomination. I don't know whether the big money/big power types want to get a Dem neoliberal into the Oval Office or if they've decided to keep Trump. I can't tell whether the oligarchs like having a Trump villain twirling his mustache and distracting everyone from them and their bullshit, or whether they're still pissed that they got a surprise the day after Election Day last time, probably for the first time in 40 years.
