Syrian bomb blast 2.6 on the Richter scale--that's a MOAB!

Coincidence? There are no coincidences in politics or war. There is a fog of war, true. The plan of battle disappears with the first shot. But certain things are just to large to be ignored. Last week in Syria (this should be the title of a soap opera if it weren't so tragic).

Q has been writing about BOMBS and, especially for this month MOAB (Mother Of All Bombs). This applies to non-nuclear devices, the most likely type is a thermobaric weapon. Perhaps we may remember the one dropped on the Tora Bora cave complex in Afghanistan over a decade ago. Very lethal but didn't do Osama in.

A thermobaric weapon is a type of explosive that uses oxygen from the surrounding air to generate a high-temperature explosion, and in practice the blast wave typically produced by such a weapon is of a significantly longer duration than that produced by a conventional condensed explosive. The fuel-air bomb is one of the best-known types of thermobaric weapons.

A bomb was exploded in Syria last week which, despite a small initial explosion, achieved a 2.6 Richter rating after a slight delay.

The culprit behind the bombing may be Israel but this is unconfirmed.

On Sunday, Syria got rocked by a missile attack that appeared to ignite a munitions depot hard enough to register as a 2.6 magnitude earthquake and is believed to have killed dozens of Iranians. Experts say the strike was most likely carried out by Israel.

Though Tehran has denied that Iranians died in the strike, a more aggressive posture toward Iran by Israel could bring about a major clash that experts say might lead to the biggest war the Middle East has ever seen.

The perpetrator of Sunday's attack hasn't been confirmed. Israel rarely takes credit for strikes within Syria, though it maintains that it will strike at any Iranian activity there that it deems a threat.

Why such a big explosion, likely occurring at an underground facility thought to be operated by Iranians near Russian air defense locations? U1-related payload in the facility? Iranian bomb-making facility in Syria, positioned as both a decentralization and to deflect direct attacks on Iran?

Is this the underlying basis, Iranian cheating on an already porous Iran nuclear deal? Shades of the Democrats.

Standing in front of a massive screen, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday gave a PowerPoint presentation on Iran's nuclear program.

He reached one conclusion: Iran had lied about its nuclear ambitions.

"Iran is brazenly lying" Netanyahu said. "The nuclear deal is based on lies."

Speaking first in English, Netanyahu said Israeli intelligence had obtained, in "a great intelligence achievement," about 100,000 "secret" files outlining what he described as a covert Iranian nuclear weapons program.

So now Iran is talking about withdrawal from the nuclear deal.

Iranian deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi appeared to signal Monday the country’s imminent withdrawal from the nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama administration in 2015.

“The Iran nuclear deal is no longer sustainable for Iran in its present form, without regard to a US exit,” Araghchi stated Monday, according to the Iranian Students News Agency.

Araghci added that Iran is “preparing all necessary options for any scenario.”

The deputy foreign minister’s comments came just before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a speech claiming that Iran had been in violation of the nuclear deal.

Why would Iran pull out now? They already received billions of U.S. cash due to Obomber, who, along with soulmate Killary, gladly sold this country out for money--and not for the first time. What would Iran gain? Allegedly, Iran is due to get two more U.S. payments of $250 B each next year in January and June if it continues to "abide" by the treaty.

Who dunnit?

Strikes in northwest Syria on Sunday night could bring retaliation from Tehran if Iranian personnel were killed, former Israeli Defense Force intelligence chief Amos Yadlin said on Monday.

Yadlin, a retired army general, said the intensity of the blasts at military bases near Hama and Aleppo — so big they caused what felt like a minor earthquake— indicated they were likely not carried out by Syrian rebels, who are under attack by the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad and its partner forces.

"Either the United States augmented the attack it led about two weeks ago, and if it wasn't the United States, that leaves one possibility that I can't confirm," Yadlin told Israeli Army radio.

Of course, it is unknown who fired the bomb and whence they came. At first Iran blamed Israel but later said the attack came from coalition forces. Why?

Don't you sometimes wish you were somewhere else?

Makes sense for a small bomb or missile to initiate a very large explosion.
In many depots including here in the u.s. large quantities of high explosive munitions are stored above ground, unsheltered in what they call pads. Many are designed to handle several thousand tons of explosives.
Easy targets with huge visual and shock wave displays when initiated.

@Pricknick @Pricknick That is almost a rhetorical question. "They" say that it was an ammunition dump but "they" also said that all 105 cruise missiles hit their targets two weeks ago. The Russians claim they shot down 70. Whom do you believe?

Your comment may may completely correct but…

I don't trust the mofos in the USG.

A thermobaric bomb hitting a munitions plant could create a huge blast. Please refer to the Wikipeia page on thermobaric weapons. The Russians have developed a t.b. weapon launched from a one-person operated shoulder mounted. I am not saying the Roooskies did it--more likely the U.S. or Israel.

Good essay, 'gator. There are so many countries playing dangerous games in the Middle East and the poor people of Syria are caught in the middle of it. And of course one of the reasons we're in Syria is to remove Assad from power and install some puppet who will let Saudi Arabia build their pipeline. Jimmy covered Kerry testifying to congress and after he giggles like a little girl he tells them that the Saudis asked him to do their work for them and that they would pay for it. How much? "A lot", said Kerry.

Here's be Bibi lying his buttocks off about Iran.

"Iran is trying to gobble up one country after the other. Iran must be stopped. Its quest for nuclear bombs must be stopped. Its aggression must be stopped," said Netanyahu, who is both Israel’s prime minister and foreign minister, adding that the greatest danger to the world was weapons."

Funny, I thought it was this country and its allies that gobbling up one country after another? Pretty sure that is what we've been doing since the gift of 9/11.

As to who bombed Syria recently, I read that Israel did the deed, but in another article I read that it was us who did it because the Syrian forces were advancing on ISIS and we bombed them to protect ISIS. Yeah, I can believe that.

This isn't the one I read, but here's another one on the bombing. Not certain of its accuracy because of the sources. Can't remember who reports the propaganda. But I know who got the blame for it.

Syria war: Missile strikes on military sites 'kill pro-Assad fighters'

The pro-opposition Orient News website also reported that large explosions were seen coming from what were believed to be ammunition caches at the base.

"All the violence and instability in Syria is the result of Iran's attempts to establish a military presence there. Israel will not allow the opening of a northern front in Syria," he told Israel's Army Radio.

The Israeli government has repeatedly vowed to stop Iran from strengthening its military presence in Syria, where it has deployed hundreds of troops to help keep President Bashar al-Assad in power since the country's civil war began in 2011.

Macron wants Iran to sign a new deal with the provisions being that Iran gives up their ICBMs and withdraws from Syria and any where else they are in the Middle East. Yeah, I don't see that happening.

Oh oh, did Iran just sign its death warrant?

In a symptom on the growing tensions, Iran announced last week that it would no longer use the dollar for its international transactions, while also calling for nations around the world to unite against Washington’s “bullying.”

alien boys around here.

With all those alien allies, there ain't another choice.
Not all U.S. allies are created equal

France is an ambivalent ally, but it has a clear view of what it wants. Sometimes our interests and theirs will coincide. I respect that. Germany, on the other hand, is America’s worst ally. Its policies are selfish, and unlike France’s, they are narrowly so, advanced without a larger vision. Germany’s characteristic posture since World War II has been to shuffle around on its knees while hitting everyone else over the head with its own moral superiority. I can stand France’s glorious selfishness, but German narrowness combined with self-righteousness is hard to endure.

The German contribution to NATO is derisory. It was Merkel who created Europe’s refugee crisis by opening its borders. It’s Germany that defends the euro but isn’t willing to import enough goods from the rest of Europe to make the currency viable.

It’s Germany that quit on nuclear power and is building Nord Stream 2, a gas pipeline with Russia that will give Russia more power to blackmail the West while costing Ukraine billions of dollars in lost pipeline transit fees and increasing its vulnerability to Russia.

German policies aren’t grand like France’s. While Germany and Merkel preen themselves as defenders of the rules-based international order in defiance of Trump, their policies are unilateral, narrow and advanced without any of France’s grandeur.

Merkel the Alien Girl now?

I feel alienated.

The Real War for Syria is Taking Place in Its Skies

Powerful rocket strikes reported on two sites in Syria on Sunday were widely attributed to Israel. Since war broke out in Syria just over seven years ago, Israeli fighter jets are believed to have carried out hundreds of offensive missions.

Israel regards the stakes as high. It wants Syria to remain an enfeebled state, ensuring Bashar Assad’s government cannot again become a regional foe. But Israel also needs to prevent other powerful, hostile actors from being drawn into the resulting vacuum.

I have been wondering how long Russia and Iran are going to just watch as the US and it's allies as well as Israel continue to do whatever they want in Syria. The longer that they don't respond to being pushed around, the weaker they are going to look and eventually they too will be attacked.

Russia's warning of hitting back at the launch sites was heeded, but they have been watching as Israel gets bolder.

According to United Nations figures, the Israeli military violated Syrian airspace more than 750 times in the four-month period leading up to last October, with its warplanes and drones spending some 3,200 hours over the country. On average, more than six Israeli aircraft entered Syrian airspace each day in that period.

edit - cue Gilda. Iran has had enough of taking Israel's warmongering.

Era of ‘hit-and-run’ strikes over: Any attack on Iran’s bases will get ‘heavy response’

“What Washington does best is causing insecurity,”Khamenei said, as cited by the Mehr news agency. “Everywhere they [the US] set foot, they… bring misfortune to the people,” he added. It is the US that “needs to leave, not the Islamic Republic,” the Ayatollah went on to say, adding that western Asia is the Iranians’ home, while the US is “an outsider with mischievous aims, seeking to instigate sedition” in the region.

Can't argue with that. And there are more developments.

Russia Says It Will Deliver New Air-Defense Systems To Syria Soon

In the days since the April 14 Western air strikes, top Russian officials have said they may reconsider a pledge Moscow gave a decade ago not to provide Syria with the S-300 system.

The Russian military has said it will soon deliver new air-defense systems to Syria in light of missile attacks launched on alleged Syrian chemical-weapons facilities by the United States, Britain, and France nearly two weeks ago.

Russia's move to transfer upgraded air-defense systems to Syria could be seen as threatening to Syria's neighbor Israel.

Of course Israel seems to think that they should get to do whatever they want to without any repercussions.

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman warned on April 24 that if Syria uses Russian-made air-defense missiles against Israel, it will strike back.

"What's important to us is that the defensive weapons the Russians are giving Syria won't be used against us," Lieberman told the Israeli news website Ynet. "If they're used against us, we'll act against them."

That's right. Israel can dish it out, but they won't take it. IMO, the only way to stop a bully is to stand up to one. It's past time for countries to stand up to the bullying of the USA and their allies. If they don't then they too will be put in line for regime change in their countries.

Since Israel's planes would not be in Israeli airspace, the US could only make up Russiagate-grade bullshit to justify expanding the Syrian war---but it's happened before.

What if you just throw some video up, like you did with Laura in Alaska? I downloaded every other one of prayingmedic's vids for a couple of weeks, I think Q decoding is fun.

I have a lot of opinions that clash with prayinmedics decoding skills though. What if Q is simply the next best political psyop the right wing has ever invented. I am not comfortable with political witch hunts, maybe 'cause I'm such a witch myself sometimes. Who's next?

Besides that gripe, I think the little part of me that can still pray, it so wants to see the Clintons in prison, I want to believe. I want to be a believer, but not give crazy racists any ideas about what makes this country free. Gosh, who can resist a good old fashioned black hat/white hat story with the happy ending coming any day now. Any day until after Nov '18? And then on to '20! maga

Iran received, funds that had been frozen by the US and belonged to Iran.

The US made no payments, they simply allowed Iran access to its own assets in overseas accounts that had been frozen by the US.

This is likely why Iran is going off the petrodollar standard. It never wants to again be in the position of losing hundreds of billions of dollars it generates from the sale of its oil due to the actions of the US.

U.S. bombs Syria again

US-led coalition fighter jets reportedly bombarded pro-Syrian government forces on Sunday, rolling back their advance into oil-rich areas held by the Syrian Democratic Forces in eastern Syria.

At least nine pro-government fighters were killed in the operation, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activist group said, hours after the Syrian army claimed it had "liberated" four villages in Deir Ezzor province from the US-backed SDF.

This is how most Syrians greet each other every day, in case anyone was wondering:

"Assalamu alaikum" is a common greeting among Muslims, meaning "Peace be with you." It is an Arabic phrase, but Muslims from around the world use this greeting, regardless of their language background.

The appropriate response is "Wa alaikum assalaam" (And upon you be peace.)

Latest clampdown news from Iran: In a Desperate Move to Squash Internet Freedom, Iran Blocks Telegram

The move also reflects a desire by hardliners to demonstrate their domestic dominance-and Rouhani's powerlessness to stop the bans on social media that he publicly states he opposes.

"Blocking Telegram is a victory for hardliners who humiliated Rouhani in front of the millions of voters he promised over and over again that he would not allow messaging apps like Telegram to be blocked," said Ghaemi.

The Telegram ban follows successive moves by the authorities during April to erode use of the app in Iran. The Ministry of Education issued a directive banning the use of foreign-made messaging apps at public schools, all executive branch agencies were ordered to stop using foreign messaging apps for official business, and Iran's Supreme Cyberspace Council (SCC) ordered Telegram removed from Iran's CDNs, (caching servers that allow faster delivery of multimedia data).

Iranian people have same kind of problems like Americans, everywhere: Millions Of Iranians Facing Water Shortages, Warns Energy Minister

04/23/18
Iran is facing its harshest drought in the last 50 years, and nearly half the country's population will soon face water shortages, according to the Energy Ministry.

"334 cities with 35 million people across Iran are currently struggling with water stress," said Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian April 21 in a speech to top members of President Hassan Rouhani's administration.

Classifying cities in three different categories, Ardakanian explained, "165 cities with 10.5 million people are in yellow, 62 cities with 6.8 million are in orange, and 107 cities with 17.2 million residents are in a red alert situation across Iran."

Russia, Iran, Turkey mull unified payment system

Energy Minister Alexander Novak says Russia is considering payments in national currencies in trade with Iran and Turkey amid their escalating tensions with the US.

“There is a common understanding that we need to move towards the use of national currencies in our settlements. There is a need for this, as well as the wish of the parties,” Russian broadcaster RT quoted Novak as saying Monday.

“This concerns both Turkey and Iran – we are considering an option of payment in national currencies with them,” he added.
