Is the Trump presidency an unintentional good thing?

Jimmy Dore has a great breakdown of the FBI memo.
The whole video is good, but if you go 20 minutes into the video you have a CIA official threatening the president.

Remember this from a year ago?

An intelligence/security state that appears to be outside and above public/civilian oversight is a HELL of a lot scarier than President Trump. Anyone that doesn't agree or understand that needs to read up on the Praetorian Guard and J. Edgar Hoover.

So a long overdue power struggle against the intelligence/security state can wind up being a good thing (even if fought for the wrong reasons).

Trump's hubris and incompetence in foreign policy also has the potential of undermining the CIA/MIC agenda.
For instance, recently the Pentagon announced that we were going to stay in Syria to confront Iranian and Russian influence in Syria, and for regime change. This is obviously not in the interests of the average American.
To accomplish this goal, they decided to create a Kurdish army in Syria. Turkey responded by attacking our Kurdish allies, thus undermining the CIA/MIC agenda.
The backlash from Turkey is still picking up steam.

Since the operation began, public opinion polls have shown a large majority of Turks supporting the offensive. One poll, conducted by Turkey’s MAK research company and cited widely by pro-government media, said 82 percent of respondents believed that the operation will succeed. Ninety percent said the United States is “behind” the PKK and YPG.
That broad distrust of the United States comes at a time when, Turkish commentators say, relations between the two longtime allies have sunk to their lowest point since Turkey joined NATO in 1952.
...Another columnist, Ibrahim Karagul, writing in the pro-government Yeni Safak newspaper, minced few words in criticizing the United States.
“The U.S. is now the . . . greatest and most open threat for Turkey. It is an enemy country. The U.S. is the one that released the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Daesh on us,” Karagul wrote, using an Arabic term for the Islamic State. Our “ties with the U.S. have no meaning left.”

U.S. relations with Turkey are so bad that we could see a splintering of NATO, which would decisively undermine the CIA/MIC's agenda for an unprovoked war against Russia.
Even Iran has objected to the US 'shamelessly threatening' Russia with nuclear weapons.
Once again, this is an unintentional good thing.

Finally, there is Trump's attacks on the news media.
Normally this would be a bad thing. But we are talking about a news media that has been historically compromised by the CIA/MIC, and most likely continues to be compromised.
Thus a war with the president will end up weakening the power of a news media that is functioning as a propaganda agency for war making.
Once again, this is an unintentional good thing.

Obviously there are countless bad things about the Trump presidency, including his intention "to be a record-breaking war criminal" in addition to his open corruption and selling out the nation to billionaires.
But there is a balance happening, even if only by accident.

and it goes back as this story from 1953 tells...

PRESIDENT EISENHOWER: Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. This is, I repeat, the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.

PETER KUZNICK:

What a great speech and the Soviets were thrilled. They republished this. They reprinted it. They broadcast it over and over, and then two days later, John Foster Dulles, Secretary of State, makes a speech reversing the whole thing. Instead of an olive branch, he gives the Soviets a middle finger and he accuses the Soviet Union of trying to overthrow every Democratic government in the world. The exact wrong message.

And so, it's sort of like Trump, where Tillerson says something sane and then Trump will undermine it two days later when it comes to North Korea. The same thing happened in 1953 with Eisenhower and Dulles.

If you want to undermine The Duopoly you have to undermine the institutional support system colloquially known as American Democracy.

Undermining the FBI, CIA and NSA is certainly a benefit of the Trump presidency, except Trump is going to make the new appointments, which could still be a good thing if Trump appoints members of his family to key positions.

The democrats have been exposed as complicit in giving the one percent everything they want.. more power to spy on us and keep us in line, more money for the military which they know damn well will have to come from domestic spending, more letting the banks do what they want, etc. The only reason they were against the tax bill was because their votes weren't needed. But once the republicans need to change a few things they will vote with them on it. The game of opposition will see just enough democrats going over to side with republicans.

No conspiracy theory required. A good pragmatic definition of The Deep State is from Caitlin Johnstone:

The term “deep state” is not a conspiracy theory but a basic concept in political analysis. It simply refers to the self-evident and undeniable fact that there are people in power within America who were not elected (primarily the plutocrats, corporate media, intelligence community and military-industrial complex), and that those people tend to form alliances and collaborate toward agendas that benefit them. [2]

And:

Caitlin Johnstone
@caitoz
Replying to @Stop_Groupthink

The billionaire class IS the deep government. The deep state revolves around the plutocracy. The rest are just the plutocrats' hired goons.

Presidency and it was by accident, there is nothing to be proud of. We don't vote for our representative doing something good accidentally. Especially not if the vote was rigged to begin with. Are we supposed to be happy and relieved that even if votes are rigged and the powers to be are doing criminal things, because an unintended consequence occurs that seems to counterbalance the initial criminal intent? How low do we need to let our standards go?

Lol, I'm broke, but here's my 2 cents.

With Hillary, as has been expressed by many, none of this would be coming out.

Instead, there would be media-promoted both a false optimism about purported Dem 'improvements-to-come' and the notion that nothing constructive could ever be done for the public. (When you have the same/similar billionaires/corporate interests running things, you get the same 'right-wing' brainwashing tactics, endlessly recycled, as we see.)

Much the same disaster would be going on, with many of the same billionaires in charge - and with Bill in charge of (milking) the economy in this two-fer - but more quietly and enacted as planned with a willing participant.

One also eager to immediately get Bibi in as a partner on foreign policy;

establish - in another people's country - that Syrian no-fly zone in order to immediately start shooting down invited-in, (often-US PTB-funded/armed/trained/imported terrorist)-fighting Russian planes,

in order to start Mutual Assured Destruction which the Clinton faction, including billionaires, are quite sure they'd somehow survive

and seemingly believe there'd somehow be a livable world remaining for them to fight over amongst themselves. Remember that they make their own 'reality' and believe that clapping hard enough for themselves will make it real. They really, truly do.

Trump at least slowed things down a bit and created more churn in the system by his particular approach and by the response engendered in the other factions, not to mention the exposing/weakening of the hold of some evils on 'the other side' in their particular areas.

We need to use that breathing space to organize some path back toward democracy in America, which can then, at the least, let the rest of the world find its own without their (and European) billionaires/corporations having that drained-from-Americans (Europeans) financial/military/corporate support/interference/intimidation system.

The pathology of 'might makes right' must not overcome all hope of civilization and sustainability.

The people of all countries have a right to their own rights, lives, natural resources, futures and visions, as long as these do not unduly intrude upon those of others, at any level.

The latter applies generally to those who would predate upon others and/or twist reason to use this concept to monitor/propagandize/micro-manage pacific citizens, whether individually or en masse, to suit their own personal goals.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

Even establishment republicans didn't want Trump openly attacking the 'Deep State' (the unelected standing bureaucracy).
It's important to factor in that establishment republicans didn't want Trump either. Hmmmm, wonder why.
Also, most presidents would resign before fighting back against the unelected standing bureaucracy (i.e. the Deep State).
Trump is not worried about his political/financial future (doesn't really need donors), or his party's political/financial future (he doesn't really care about his party establishment). Look at all the never Trump republicans deciding not to seek reelection (because they can't raise the money, i.e. their donors don't think It's worth the investment under Trump).
The Trump presidency is an effect the unelected standing bureaucracy tried to prevent and is still trying to stop.
It will be necessary for Trump to fully expose and defeat the 'Deep State' in order to survive the presidency. If he is successful, it will produce a result that educates the electorate in ways that neither party ever intended (or wanted).
This is a rare situation. A president that has to defeat a 'bipartisan' shadow government in order to survive.
Which side should we really be on?

Dear gawd, not only following Obama's publicized order list regarding the trillion-odd of public money to go into global domination-required nukes but testing one for any reason, never mind apparently for 'political reasons'? And improperly, to round it off? How did the bubble convince him that Americans want Armageddon triggered, as well as more deadly local and traveling radiation exposure?

And from your second link, horrifying enough otherwise, this:

...The anecdote quickly spread on social media Friday night in the US, fueling speculation that the White House was seriously considering striking North Korea — potentially endangering the lives of millions of South Koreans and thousands of US citizens — in order to score political points. ...

Please note that the lives of North Korean citizens were seemingly not considered worthy of either specific mention or concern. Is the 'othering' - the dehumanization - of the people of another entire country complete among those pathologized into this state of mindlessness?

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

I am, as always, so grateful for your informed and informative essays, even though the news they bring is typically depressing as hell, but I do take heart in the disruptive aspects Trump has introduced, even though public objections are so often co-opted and carefully misled.

People have to realize that conditions under any such destructively self-interested/corporate/military control will ever-more-rapidly and too-often irrevocably (especially regarding the murder-in-progress of the complex and interdependent global life support system) continue to worsen until the results are globally fatal, something which could occur at any moment, under either (s)elected corporate/billionaire Party/President 'choice'.

That indicates that current and projected conditions have to be understood by the designated victims to be desperate enough to make the propaganda obvious and to trigger a (preferably pacific/political) last-ditch fight for life against their own embezzled government and obscenely bloated military and militarized civil forces over which they need to obtain political and financial control through taking back their own government, as is their Constitutional right, one of many such rights long and studiously ignored by those fascists influencing and infiltrating the US government, these having gained control at all levels by the very governmental/propagandist enabling of these psychopathic self-interests to drain the people and country of the wealth and power required to purchase such power.

The Psychopaths/Parasites That Be and the corrupt system they've created and control must be replaced by a government truly of, by and for the people, in united effort and despite all propaganda and encroaching censorship warping perception - not an easy task, but neither was overcoming the previous US industrialist-created and supported take-over of Germany by Nazis also intent upon global fascist hegemony, even if this current incarnation was planned and executed more carefully over a longer period, and having drained a far larger quantity of resources from Americans and much of the world.

They were defeated by humanity before, when it did not appear to be possible then either, and can be, with strategy, lessons to be learnt from the past and different circumstance, perhaps less violently defeated again. This time, to be kept out of public policy and politics hereafter, rather than more being brought out of all danger of war-criminal confinement by such as the Bush family and into industry and government to help pathologize the culture of both, as had occurred following the defeat of their previous attempt at global conquest.

And this recovery of American governance and the belated full implementation of the concept of democracy as a humane, civilized society with all having equal, protected rights, treatment and opportunity guaranteed needs to be initiated and well underway before the US (and allied) fascist PTB currently in stolen control either destroy life on the planet in the pursuit of their insane and suicidally murderous goals or before a unified section of the targeted world is forced to obliterate (or possibly otherwise less destructively somehow subjugate) America (and, one would think, all other currently fascist-controlled countries also posing a hazard to global life,) in self-defense, this almost certainly also resulting in an identical and universally fatal end to all radiation-sensitive/oxygen-dependent Earth life.

If the American people can't unite to successfully replace psychopaths and their pathologized enablers with the humane eager to work for the public good within government, completed certainly within the next few elections, (assuming that we actually have that long,) the 99% will have to ultimately (possibly quite soon) face down by far the largest military ever formed, further reinforced with mercenary troops, (and quite likely robotics as well as other weaponry which should not be used against anyone, never mind civilians,) if they do not wish to continue to lie down like brainwashed disposable doormats to have the life anyway crushed out of them and the rest of planetary life by psychopaths using any/all of multiple soullessly but lucrative-to-them destructive means.

If The People manage to get only Progs in office, with enough of them in public office and crowding out the corrupt within ideally both parties, either any pretense of actual government must be dropped, by the psychopaths/lackeys within, for the blatant use of force thereby further delegitimatizing themselves past the point of PR or other recovery, or they lose, via rapid, en masse attrition, their governmental/public control and all ability to 'legalize' the warping of law, language and all else to use against anyone.

Citizens can no longer accept suspect electoral results/damaging political appointments as 'a done deal and/or a problem to be fixed later', something which has aided and abetted this take-over all along. It's their government, that of the people who inhabit the country, not that of the bribed/installed political employees of polluting or other industry billionaires sacrificing those citizens - who their public office exists to represent/serve - to the pathological greed and power-lust of those which such public office also exists to protect the public it serves from the depredations of.

And I hope we can en masse stop doing such self-defeating things now, while there's still anything left to salvage from the wreckage being made of the living Earth system which spawned us and still enables us to live, even at this point.
