I shall have to try to make or obtain a cookie sometime today, though we're still working on an apple cake I made the other day. Perhaps I'll make amaretti this afternoon.

Perhaps the recorder was deemed to be a subset of flute? Your repast sounds wonderful, though I, being a carb junkie, would fill it with spatzele or hand rolled sourdough noodles.

According to Alexa just now, in the U.S. c99 ranks 123,392 and Hillary-backer Peter Daou’s propaganda vehicle Verrit, despite big-bucks backing and HER’s endorsement, only ranks 212,736.

https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/caucus99percent.com
https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/verrit.com

Oddly enough, global rankings are reversed: 118,856 for Verrit, but only 844,931 for c99. How does that come about? Preponderance of interest in Hillary talking points lies outside the U.S.?

conclusion. It was HER turn, and HER had HER turn. Next HER (endlessly) told HER tale of woe and betrayal and pointer HER fingers at those she blames for HER loss. HER still has HER following (it's yuuuuuge) and HER influence (ditto), but, quite frankly, it's long past becoming tedious.

HER bankster and FIRE cronies, and the MIC might not be up to staving off the collapse of the US empire and, frankly, a decent ethical human should root for that collapse. HER relevance is as an obstacle only, and hopefully will fade.

Interesting article on the instabilities in our financial/economic imperialism in CounterPunch: https://www.counterpunch.org/2017/11/29/monetary-imperialism/. I've been watching the noises out of China/BRICS about a substitute currency, and really don't see us as ready to send the marines to all of Eastasia in order to stop it. When the bottom falls out, those on the bottom fall less far, and their oppressors often fight among themselves over the limited supply of exploitables. Global pain is not a good thing, but it might be fun to watch the US elites get their comeuppance.

All independent sites with views similar to ours can increase their standing by massive cross-linking with each other. That's what the google algorithm looks for, collections of interlinking sites.

As always, you make me both think and smile. And remind me that "Math is hard," at least for me.

If I'm honest, I never thought Herod was all that great. However, he and his heir (his heir being the Herod of Biblical infamy) were into big building projects, so I assume they created jobs. One can only hope they were paying jobs, rather than more work for slaves. Probably both, I guess. Ugh.

In numerology, four is the number of hard work and some other things to which I don't aspire. Much of numerology interpretation focuses on only numbers from 1 to 9. So, numbers consisting of two or more digits are added to reduce them to a number from 1 to 9. Consequently, some speculate that the number 13 got such a bad reputation because 1 + 3 equals 4. That never made much sense to me, but I thought I'd mention it.

I appreciate the four seasons and am sorry to see them blending into each other.

Numerology reduces 23 to 5, a number of adventure and change. As all change and adventure is not positive, that has its upsides and its downsides. The same is true of all the numbers. Numerology, about which I have only the most superficial knowledge, however, has to do with the letters in your name, each of which gets assigned a number from 1 to 9, starting with A as 1, the numbers in your date and year of birth, etc. and not with your favorite or "lucky" numbers.

@HenryAWallace
There are, for starts, many differing numerologies, though 4 does seem to get good press across the board. Nonetheless, a rectangle, under stress, readily deforms into a rhomboid. A triangle is far sturdier.

The method of adding digits to reduce to a numeral less than ten is somewhat equivalent to working modulo nine -- 15 - 9 = 4, just FWIW. That process surfaces in a great number of places and activities.

Having been raised in SoCal, I grew up generally unfamiliar with the seasons. Now I have a greater awareness and understanding, but I'm not sure that I have that much fondness, except that I need to wait for certain seasons before I can harvest certain crops.

@enhydra lutris

addressing you as EH, rather than as EL. I've done that more than once. This morning, I was telling myself the entire time I typed my post to get your initials right and I still got them wrong! I've now fixed my earlier post.

First, please note: Everything I've said on this thread about numerology is über oversimplified. I was never seriously into numerology. A friend once gifted me with a numerology book. I played around with family and friends for fun, but that was about it. And I haven't done even that in years.

Four is very good in numerology if your work address or phone number reduces to 4, but not for all purposes. I never knew what to do with phone numbers anyway. Should I or should I not factor in the area code and/or the 1 that we must dial before entering the area code. ¿Quién sabe?

Three, the number of sides in a triangle, is about sociability, joining groups, etc.

In numerology, 15-9 would be 6, much as it is in mundane math. In numerology, six is a number of marriage and home. You might thing that would be 8, which, of all the numbers between 1 and 9 looks most like a couple, but 8 is money.

@Timmethy2.0 I have no ideas about the meaning of life or the meaning of the universe. In numerology, however, 42 would reduce to 6, which is a number of home, family, marriage--more stability, for example, than 5, which represents change and adventure.

But don't take my word for anything. I am about as far from an expert as one can be.
